  1. Seeing the others head off to their own whims, i set myself about attempting to mingle and gathering information, but do my best to keep both Ambro and Jay'el in my sight. It seems i've led us right into a sticky situation.....But I'll be damned if I'm going to allow them to fall under my command. Noticing that most spheremorphs are in baseline, I go ahead and drop my tactician form so as to be able to blend into the crowd better.
  2. Today is apparently 99% meetings, and 1% lunch. Fun.

  3. Dr McNinja is awesome. They did a collaborative crossover with axe cop and dr mcninja a while back that was pretty sweet. Also: i've recently started reading ratfist. It's pretty awesome so far.
  4. Quickly scanning the room, I take in the situation. Letting out a brief sigh, i mutter, "I don't like this one bit...." At this point I have to consider all of these spheremorphs hostile, regardless of their situations. The three of us likely don't stand a chance alone...... Looking toward the newcomer, i speak plainly to him, "Adolin, alone we're obviously no match as a whole when it comes to this tournament. Obviously we don't know you, and you don't know us, but surely you agree that a mutual understanding at least until the danger has passed is better than a potential unknown threat, yes? Work with us, and I'll do my best to see everyone gets out of this alive." Having said this, I turn to the other two. "All right, guys, we need to find out everything we can about this tournament, and prepare ourselves. Ears spread all over have a better chance to hear choice info, so I say we spread out and find out what we can." Discreetly, I move in close towards Ambro, and whisper in a hushed tone, "Ambro, I'm not entirely sure I trust this Adolin guy." Glancing around the room quickly, i continue a bit quieter, "I hate what I'm about to ask of you, but we're potentially in a lot of danger right now and I believe you can handle it. Would you be able to follow and observe him, and if need be 'do what needs to be done'". I finish the last part with emphasis hoping Ambro gets my meaning. If this guy is a liability to us, we need to know and get rid of him as soon as possible, but i hope Ambro is up for some dirty work. A disgusting thing to ask, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Grimacing, I take a deep breath and turn to look at everyone.
  5. Sorry, guys, ive been stupid busy. Started a new job this week AND moved out of state all at once. I still dont have an apartment yet, im working on getting that all set up. Hopefully in a week or two i should be able to jump back in. Ill try and hammer out a post this weekend between things.
  6. Dear iowa: better prepare your border patrol, because your boundaries are going to be penetrated!

  7. Go play that You'll have no problem figuring out was a grue is in due time.
  8. i can get to it.
  9. Eying the new comer warily, i quickly assess the situation Whoever he is, he could pose a danger. I have no idea what this man or the first man are capable of......Better to keep them at a distance..... Looking at my companions, I notice the shock on Ambro's face. "Keep your wits about you, Ambrosius," i speak quietly, and then tapping on my spheremount lightly, "At least this time we still have these...." Turning to glance at Jay'el, i nod to him and start following the way the new comer went. Sheathing my sword and motioning the others to follow, i state quietly, "Stick together, lads, and we'll pull through this"
  10. Oh? Any insight into what happened?
  11. Seeing the man step out from behind the cross and begin approaching, I thrust my fist up in the air and state loudly, "Hold, men." This unspoke plan appears to put me as the commanding officer here it seems..... I think to myself. Pointing at the new comer, i raise my hand in a motion indicating him to stop. "You there, Stay where you are. We don't quite know who you are, but we have a pretty good indication," I bluff, but realizing I should keep him far back because his immediate complacency to approach just in case. Let him think we know more of him than he was aware... i consider silently. Quickly surveying, I notice the lack any apparent backup, good hiding areas or immediately defensible position for this to be a trap to be sprung. "Now, come clean about everything if you want to keep this simple," I tell him, making sure to keep any hint of malice out of my voice. I don't think this is the man who brought us here...It's never that easy....But the best way to spring a trap is to walk into it..... The words of one of my old commanders in the army comes quickly to mind, 'A man who appears to be in control can control the situation '. "Keep your eyes about, everyone. I have a feeling this man is a decoy," i mutter just loud enough for my companions to hear.
  12. Hearing Jay'El's words, i nod swiftly while keeping my eyes on the person on the hill. "Good idea," i reply, "We don't know who this is or what he wants. May as well be ready for anything." Swiftly, I make my way towards the bow of the ship, making sure to duck behind cover for a moment to shift into my Tactician form. After having completed the change, I make my way fully up to the very front of the ship. Planting my sword firmly in front of me i rest both hands on top of it, standing still so as to seem as if i were the figure head of the boat itself. May as well show whoever this is that we aren't afraid of him i reason to myself. Loudly enough for the others on the boat to hear, but not quite yelling, i say, "No fear, lads! Let's show whoever's waiting for us that we'll stand up to anything they can dish out!"
  13. Well, looks like I'm gonna be staying at an extended stay for a while....

  14. huh. apparently brandon posted this over on TWG today. Note for those who don't go to TWG: EUOL = Brandon
  15. The transformer is indeed awesome. I wish i had one. However, i purchased a viewsonic G tablet not too long ago, and im more than happy with it.
  16. Drop box is seriously totally awesome. You have to install a bit of software on each device, however, the software basically points to a specific folder (usually like "my docs\dropbox", but i think you can change it) and then any file you put in those folders is automatically synced. So if you were to designate say "C:\writing projects" as your dropbox folder every time you edit that file (no matter where you are) it will auto-sync with the rest of your devices you have dropbox on over the internet.
  17. Precisely Side note for everyone sane who's never seen me and sort's shenanigans: 90% of what goes on between won't make too much sense, but is something of a special bond shared between a Nevada and his grandfather.
  18. Fourthded*. Awesomer note: I'm also his real-fake-life father, and he's my fake-real-life grandfather and it works in a way that's nice and confusing. Edit: and before anyone asks, yes, i am indeed also his fake-life-real-life-fake-real-lifetime Nevada. *- A brand new Eero word that is totally awesome
  19. I refuse to believe this person is real, and exists in any way.
  20. well, all the builds i mention above are doable with the core books, though not as to the effectiveness the prestige classes can throw in. also, don't downplay the utility part of the first build i mention. Utility spells in general will help you out extremely compared to just going full-on battle caster. Lobbing fireballs won't get you past anywhere near every challenge presented in this module.
  21. well, it's considered a staple for any party with good reason Pending on the rest of the party, and what books you have access to, i would go with some of the following as backup ideas: a wizard/warmage (or sorcerer)/ultimate magus combo (warmage packs a battle punch casted spontaneously, and wizard for utility) a fighter/sorcerer/abjurant champion (focus on buff spells like shield and such to make a pretty beefy fighter type) a barbarian/bear warrior or frenzied berserker (frenzied berserker for damage, bear warrior for more tankish build. also note that frenzied berserker should only be chosen if the party is willing to live with you) a cleric/radiant servent of pelor for heal-tastic healing, especially if your DM allows domain spontaneity shenanigans Be warned: i'm a self-confessed powergamer, so taking too many of my suggestions might make your DM upset with a possible power imbalance Edit: of course, this is all moot if theyve made a 4th ed revision of this module im not aware of
  22. Rogue focused on traps with a 10-foot pole. Srsly. But yeah, keep in mind this dungeon was written back in the day of the quintessential party, a rogue, a beefy meat-wagon, a caster, and a healer. Not filling one of these roles could be disastrous.
  23. Watching Jay'El hurry off, i turn back to the smelly fellow near me. "All right, my new unwashed 'friend', i will head off to meet Ambro, thank you for your service," with that I hand over a small denomination coin and turn to head off towards the docks.
