  1. That's a fun one. My group and I did that one a while back (i was DMing), the 3.5 revision. Many character deaths abound.
  2. so it would seem i'm moving to des moines, iowa in the next couple of weeks....

    1. ZeldaDad

      ZeldaDad

Nice. That's just north of me.

      oh yeah? how far north?

  3. speaking of reading, i'd also like to add this announcement which i technically should have posted yesterday: I picked up about 40-50 books (some for me, some for the fiancée) yesterday at the greater st. louis book fair. i have a lot of work to do.....
  4. Well, the greater St. Louis area. And since most people dont know what that means unless they live here: I live in an area that's technically not st louis, but is considered part of st louis, as most parts of st louis are actually there own independent city that just kinda got absorbed over the years.
  5. Yeah, i'm pretty stoked, but at the same time a bit nervous about the "your entire life is about to change" thing
  6. I would like to announce that i was just offered a position today making 40 bucks an hour, which after much thought I have accepted. This unfortunately means I will be moving out of the St. Louis area in missouri and out to Des Moines, Iowa. So basically my entire life will be changing here in the next two weeks. Any other sharders live around Des Moines?
  7. the oatmeal is great. You should read it. Here's some of my recommendations from em: How to pet a kitty Cat vs Internet Minor differences Part 1 Part 2 and Part 3 Email Etiquette Captain Higgins and plenty of others, but those are just a handful of good ones
  8. so here's yet another i forgot: The Oatmeal Also: im surprised no one else has mentioned it yet.
  9. Hyperbole and a half is pretty awesome, but it takes forever to update.
  10. well, since people are considering voice as an instrument, i have to contradict my previous post and throw out there that i do sing a bit. I don't think i'm that great, but others tell me i'm pretty good. The choir teacher at my highschool was always hounding me to join choir, but i never did. I acted in the plays, which included musicals, and yes this means that somewhere in this world is a VHS that contains singing and dancing Eero, and no you can't have a copy.
  11. that was awesome. All the lovecraft quotes, names, etc. in it make me happy.
  12. Yeah, for whatever reason no one ever wants to buy a laser seared textbook
  13. Now you must learn to play them both at the same time. Not alternatively, but both at the exact same time. The challenge is set and the game is on!
  14. I still (and always will) stand by my "shut up, chaos" proof.
  15. Let A = 2, B = 2, and C = 5, D is our unknown, Let it be known: 2+2 = D D = A+B Therefore: 2+2 = D So therefore logically: D = Shut up and accept it, chaos (obviously i kid, i dont believe it either, unless we're fudging rounding )
  16. heh, yeah. I remember first hearing it too. I was pretty much all "you talkin' crazy talk, boy!". Then calculus was all "lol, no." But yeah, i love reading the huge debates people get into over it.
  17. if there's anything you'll learn in life, it's that people are dumb at math as a general thing. Overall, the population itself is pretty poor at math, because they forget how simple algebra works once outside of a classroom (and for some, inside the classroom as well). now, if you want debate about real math subjects, i recommend looking into the debates that rage about 0.9999... equaling 1. Those debates are always fun to read
  18. there's a regular at my local rennissance fair who plays the hammered dulcimer, and he's an expert at it. It's actually his full time job, and he travels internationally doing it (he's in italy at the moment, just got there from greece) Hammered dulcimers are awesome. I don't play any instrument, because i don't have a whole lot of manual dexterity, and i'm not very good at carrying a tune, but i would love to play several instruments, like piano, guitar, or really any stringed instrument.
  19. so these are kinda dumb comics, but i read 'em on occasion (they're also pretty new, as in both set up this year, and by the same person). I mostly like the art and the dumb humor makes me chuckle: Doctor Cat Ghost cat (note that doctor cat's name is descriptive of its content, where as ghost cat is not)
  20. (sorry for the double post) Looks like your game auto resigned (that or you manually resigned it) I think that happens after like 10 days or something.
  21. Heh, PPGD is actually a really awesome comic. I haven't even THOUGHT about it in years. Haven't read the others, though.
  22. Well, to be fair, we have no clear cut proof that we aren't! Could be suffering from similar-but-different-personalities syndrome!
  23. Yeah, XKCD is probably one of the best comics on the internet, if you ask me.
  24. gah! i can't believe i forgot Bug and SMBC! D:
  25. i used to read LFG years ago, but kinda just stopped reading it after a while. Great comic. Comics i check on a regular basis: XKCD Order of the stick VG cats Cynaide and Happiness Amazing Super powers Lefthanded toons (by right handed people) Axe cop Doctor cat I have a few others i read occasionally, but those are the ones i check on a (fairly) regular basis, and i recommend all of them edit: oh, also, Manly guys doing manly things
