  1. False. Moon but not sun
  2. hehe, False. Food but not meat
  3. True. bellow but not shriek.
  4. Yes it needs to be in the proper format, and that is in the proper format. However, that statement is false.
  5. note: i'm pretty sure that's french you said, and i dont know it's meaning, and i know this is spanish, but it just made me think of this image in particular, so i posted it because i'm cool like that.
  6. So i'm gonna start another forum since most don't seem to be played anymore and no one wants to play the last one. We're gonna play "Deep but not profound". To play this game, you basically state "X but not Y" and there's only one rule to what is true and what is false. However, it's your job to figure out the rule yourself, and don't tell anyone if you figure it out! That spoils the game. Basically, you'll just have to continually post "X but not Y" sayings until you figure out what the rule is, and i will tell you if your statement is true or false. Also: no fair googling to cheat and find the rule. It takes the fun out of the game (plus there's no point in playing once everyone knows the secret behind it) Also, the rule is insanely simple once you figure it out. Anywho, i'll start. Deep but not profound. This one is, obviously, true.
  7. Heh, i've been to see Body Worlds before, in fact it was at the st louis science center when i saw it (i think this was 2005 or so). I agree, it is rather creepy at times. I actually enjoyed it, though, because it was different and interesting to see.
  8. That's pretty awesome. That would be neat to check out. How is chicago with their science center, or do they even have one? I always love going to those more so than other museum type things. I really like St. Louis' because they always have cool exhibits and symposiums to check out. About a year ago they had their annual science fair, and they had some really good physics symposiums that i sat through.
  9. As of this post (unless someone ninja's me) this is officially our longest intro topic to date it would seem. Edit: CURSES! Ninja'd!
  10. Dang. Are you SURE you aren't a Llama? I don't mind. I grew up in the St. Louis area but recently (about 3 months) moved up to Des Moines for a year and a half long contract (I'm an IT contractor)
  11. For the record, i'm going to assume you mean this LITERALLY, which means you either have a giant one of these on your back at all times, or you are in actuality a llama. Both of which possibilities are awesome. Edit: Oh snap, the midwest. There's a possibility you're in my neck of the woods.
  12. I'll give you that, it does indeed sound like something i would say. Also, i considered using the search command to verify before i posted that one, but then i figured i would post that instead and simply attempt to subtly manipulate you into doing the search FOR me. You win this round, chaos, but you haven't seen the last of me!!
  13. You sure that was me? I mean, i'm GOING to be saying it now (after all, what has MONTANA ever done for ME?), but I don't think that was me that said it originally. Of course, i could be wrong
  14. i KNEW it!!
  15. so then maybe it was a combination of the two!
  16. "Mission" like missionary work, or "Mission" like super secret awesome undercover spy work?
  17. I've never read the conan books, but i've always wanted to. It's always been one of those things thats on my agenda but always a "After X and Y" sort of thing. In regards to the movie, i don't really plan on seeing it. The best conan movie(s) that could have possibly been made has all ready been made, and it involves the governator.
  18. Welcome back and all that! I would like to announce that i'm bored at work. I got nuffin' to do and about an hour till i leave.
  19. Pretty much. Ya know the paparazzi that follow around big name celebrities for a huge scoop? Yeah, it's basically nothing like that.
  20. My clever plot! she has been foiled! D: Only that he doesn't stalk everyone who signs up here like chaos does, or at least so i believe. He could be doing some midnight-stalking that i'm not aware of.
  21. Well, in regards to Eric (chaos) stalking you, you have no fears. I have it on good authority that he stalks all the ladies. In fact, i'm surprised he hasn't started staking this topic yet. Joe, however, is a bit more particular in who he stalks, i think. but yeah, no reason to be paranoid. You're (probably) safe here.
  22. I'm not entirely sure HOW it would work, but i am completely positive that you should DEFINITELY be afraid. VERY afraid.
  23. Sounds like we're going to have to organize the official unofficial 17th shard stalk-off of 2011 so you can put your money where your mouth is!
  24. I guess i'll go ahead and add my 2 cents. I voted for 4 (combination of 1 & 2) For me to consider a book "small", if it's an individual stand alone book, i would say the line would be drawn somewhere in the 300-500 page count. If it's an entire series of books, i would consider it small if all of the books added up to probably less than 1000 pages in total, divided up over however many books. I consider 600-800 pages in a single book to be a good-sized, mid range sort of read, and up to and over 1000 pages to be a long read. Edit: also, i suppose it's important to distinguish, we're referring to novels, right, not like novellas? since novellas usually don't go more than like 100-200 pages. Because a novella is certainly a short book, and if we include those, I would say i would consider "short" a novella, and then medium would be novels up to 800 or so.
