  1. discovered new uses for their shard weapons. Unfortunatly this art was lost in time until wyndle the shardfork made its great appearance in the novella Edgedancer
  2. Okay so when I was re-reading Oathbringer again I paused when I read Chapter 88 voices. In this chapter it's a flashback where dalinar is talking about how he needs to drink (the first chapter we see dalinar turns to spirits) and he eventually goes out to find a beggar named Ahu. Ahu is drinking and talking about the voices and how they are made. He seems to know a lot about how the spiritual aspect of the screams that dalinar (and szeth) hear. Then he mentions 4 of the unmade and says "Moelach is close. I can hear his wheezing, his scratching, his scraping at time like a rat breaking thourgh walls." Why the heck does this random beggar know so much. And why can he track and even hear where Moelach (the thrill) is? Is it just another mad man whose mind is more open to the cognitive realm as we see in MSH. Or is Ahu some kind of herald that was pausing in Kholinar. And if so which one. I'd love to hear you thoughts!
  3. My first book was Alcatraz vs. the evil librarians on CD, I was 12 years old and thought that it sounded funny. It wasn't until two years later when my friends older brother introduced me to the Cosmere with Mistborn
  4. do we know what would happen if Nightblood stabbed through a spren? I know the main part of the spren is housed in the cognitive realm but what would happen if nightblood cut through the physical manifestation of the spren, Like syl, would she die and that part of Kaladin's spirit web ripped out? or would she be cut off from the physical realm becoming, essentially, a cognitive spren shadow? Or would it do nothing as they don't have a strong enough prescenes in the physical realm (least likely in my opinion)
  5. Nightblood is scary. I wouldn't want to be cozying up to it anymore than I have to. I'd just wait and hope he loses it or gives it away before making myself known
  6. Elsecaller and Compounded brass would work better if we're going full cosmere
  7. Fault recognized
  8. Not to call you out, But personally I have never seen any dark blue eyes. They tend to be on the lighter side. But as a blue colored lighteyes that my just be my natural prejeduce against you dark eye scum.
  9. Also we don't even know if the how large a Kandra can become while remaining concious. Like would the hemalurgic spikes have enough charge to control that much flesh? We know they can get rather large ( by their cousins the mistwraiths) but as we don't know the size of a dragon I wonder if they could accurately recreate and control some thing that big. Also we know that it takes some kandra days to recreate a human, Imagine how long it would take even someone like TenSoon to recreate something as large as a dragon. Also it wouldn't even be very useful, we know that dragons can shapeshift so if they needed to prove that they are a true dragon, and they can't just go spitting bones and muscle everywhere as they try to get down to human size without being detected.
  10. Dude, we already have spell check on our computer/phones, I doubt somebody would put Bod Geyond on accident
  11. Yeah... The whole serial killer in modern day is most likely not going to happen. We do still have confirmation on a Modern day Scadrial but hunting a mistborn serial killer seems to much like Wax hunting down bleeder. (who trade spikes multiple times within the same chase sequence). Unless Branderson puts in another huge twist (such as kelsier being the killer) I doubt that it will happen at all.
  12. I would also like to point out that in the arena when he fell the break would most likely be very small. I was wondering if his pre-existing knowledge of general healing and surgery would allow his Stormlight to work more efficiently. Like because he already has the knowledge of how to fix his body without stormlight, his stormlight is better directed. Allowing him to heal faster than even another Nahel-bond surgebinder. This being said I can't really think of a to prove this. Jasnah got stabbed and healed from it but we don't know how much stormlight she used for that heal as compared how much stormlight it would take for Kaladin to heal. The only way to prove this is to have both suck in a diamond marks worth of stormlight, and then stab them both. As I doubt that Brandon would put such an obvious quantifiable amount in the book so....
  13. Another offshoot Can a Kandra Return? They are essentially creatures of hemulargy so to kill them with acid would leave the spikes. But what happens when someone's body explodes and is gone, and then returns. Isn't that kinda the same thing?
  14. I believe that harmony is a totally new intent. Just as you can't get atium or lerasium from harmoiunum (citation needed) you can't measure this new shard by what went into it. In chemistry when Sodium, a metal that explodes on contact with water, and chloride: a posionous gas mix they create table salt that we eat. I think we can apply the same logic hear. I haven't properly researched WoB for this so correct me if I'm wrong
  15. Much like the way Stormlight heals, gold has its limits. Kaladin sees the scars as a part of him so they stay, the same thing would happen if he tapped gold. Stormlight couldn't turn you into Elantrian and stormlight is a whole lot more volatile than gold. I like the thought tho!
  16. I don't know why everyone wants to be a windrunner so bad. Skybreakers is where its at. Being able to do all the cool things from the windrunners and getting to destroy stuff? All the while not having to keep promises to everyone and being a BA cop?! Or if the whole cop thing doesn't really strike a cord with you why swear yourself to the law when you can swear yourself to literally ideal or person? You could swear yourself to survival and become a self-serving magical beast. The only thing to be said for Elsecallers is the ability to travel offworld And my number two would definitely be Repressed Returned (like vasher)
  17. If this works the way you said (blocks influence from the cognitive realm) then it wouldn't really affect the ability of a Nahel bond. The sprens have a weak physical presence and a spiritual presence as well. If silver were able to affect all three of these then silver would just kill humans on touch (as the known varieties exist on all three plains). Also the shades on threnody obviously have more power then a normal cognitive shadow. We don't see Kelsier killing people in M:SH. Silver has a very specific ability on thredony and little to no ability off planet (as far as we know).
  18. I'm not sure if this would be much of a fight at all. Maybe a pack of Nightmaw could fight a Chasmfiend but from what the Words of radiance says about Chasmfiends, the hunters of the chasms would squash the Nightmaws. Nightmaws are said to have beaks as big as doors, from this we can tell that they are larger than a human but their real strength in this fight would be their speed and hunting through the cognitive realm. Chasmfiends are never accurately described in hieght but from in book drawings of shallan we can determine that they are several times larger than a man (and a Nightmaw) When Dalinar fights the chasmfiend on the hunt he has to first cut the legs off using broad strokes. The freakin' legs are tall enough for Dalinar to strike forward and cut them. That means that the leg is nearly as tall as Dalinar. The armor of a chasmfiend takes hours of hammers to break through concentrated on a single spot, and even with its enormous size the symbiotic relationship with luckspren allow it to "float". The coppermind says that "Mathematically speaking chasmfiends fly, as luckspren help make them lighter than they should be. Without them they'd be crushed beneath their own weight." So having armor impenetrable by the nightmaws, being bigger then them, and being faster then they should for their size wouldn't really make this a fair fight. Although I would still love to see the art for it
  19. You are right here. I couldn't find the exact WoB so i was basing it on what I remembered. Thanks for the call out! I believe I was thinking about Hoid rather than Odium. To quote the coppermind, Hoid, who is very difficult to kill,[62] is also afraid of [Nightblood]. And in the same sentence it says the quote of "Odium is aware of Nightblood" So thats my bad. Though the part of Nightblood being a Parshendi annilahtor still stands. (though nightblood is pretty much an everybody annilahtor)
  20. Kelsier can't be a shard as in 2nd era scadrial he is seen pierced with multiple hemalurgic spikes. Why would a shard give harmony power over him. That as well as the fact that preservation saved his (after)life and that he can't go off planet as a strong arguement against him being a shard but I like the idea. I wonder if Kelsier might be able to become an agent of Survival or if Survival will just stay hidden until late into the cosmere. Also Goody just letting you know that odium is afraid of nightblood. When asked about it brandon said that Nightblood could concievably kill a shard if brought into contact with its physical manifestation. This is the reason the fused are so keen to take nightblood from szeth. That and also Nightblood is just a straight up parshendi annihilator
  21. I could honestly see another shard being added. In the letter to hoid from bavadin talking about Obradai (the second letter in oathbringer) It talks about instilling the "new shard" with a hatred of Hoid. That being said it is likely that Obrodai is an avatar offshoot of Autonomy but by giving the psuedo-shard a planet it might be able to grow to a comparable power through investing in the land. That being said I do not think that a truly "new shard" will appear. Adonlasium was split into 16 parts and the combining of two of those shards isn't going to magically force another massive amount of divine investure to just appear with a brand new intent. Energy cannot be created or destroyed and from what we've seen there is nothing to dissprove this theory in the cosmere. There is still two shards power there so there is no need for a new shard. The power split into 16 parts. There is still 16 parts just one vessel holds two of them.
  22. Also this question might be for a different forum but what would happen if you Compounded with copper. Compounding memories seems like it would be useful. Because when someone stores their memories in coppermind it disapears from their mind so if you compounded copper would you just be able to remember it and have it in your coppermind or something else entirely. I don't know if there are WoB about this or anything but I'm curious what be the effect as it seems like one of the most end negative feruchemical abilities. i.e. store strength for an hour and then have 2x the strength for 30 minutes. But you store memories for an hour you can't have 2x "memories" for 30 minutes.
  23. I find your Chromium comment interesting for instance would fortune act almost like Fortuity's powers of precog in Steelheart. In regards to Fortune The coppermind says, "related to luck, seeing the future, or versions of the future." Which sounds eerily like Renrarins powers with his corrupted spren. Although that is through the powers of Odium (his spren being corrupted by Sja-anat) we know forms of investiture can be similar throughout the cosmere. Another appearance of fortune is the form of Fortune that Hoid employs that lets him know where to be when. Though his fortune is fallible, sometimes going someplace where nothing happens, Imagine if you had unlimited amounts of fortune as a chromium compounder would. hmm...
  24. So for those who don't know the act of compounding in Mistborn is when you have the same Feruchemical ability and Allomatic ability. By storing a little health in gold, for instance, then burning that gold you can store more health in your metalminds than you started with (Health being golds Ferchemical ability). So I want to hear what the best compound of powers would be. I don't count other twinborn powers like Wax's Steel and iron even though they do work in tandem, they are not compounding. Just a reminder of the dual powers (Feruchemy / Allomancy) Steel= ( Physical Speed/ steel-pushing) Iron= (Physical Weight/ iron-pulling) Tin= (Stores one sense at time (one per metalmind)/ increases all senses) Pewter= (Physical Strength/ increases physical abilities) Zinc= (Mental Speed/ Stokes Emotion) Brass= ( Warmth/ Soothes Emotion) Copper= (Memories/ Hides allomatic pulses) Bronze= (Wakefulness/ "hears" allomatic pulses) Chromium= (Fortune/ Wipes targets allomatic reserves) Nicrosil= ( Investure/ Enhances targets allomatic power.) Aluminum= (Identity/ Wipes internal allomatic reserves) Duralumin= (connection/ Enhances next metal burned) Gold= (Health/ shows your past self) Electrum= ( determination/ shows your future self) Bendalloy= (Energy/ speeds up time) Cadmium= (Breath/ slows down time) So lets hear what you think. I for one am partial to Chromium, being able to be unlimited lucky without having to be unlucky would be the best. As a wise man once said: "you can't beat luck"
