Just finished Centrifugal. Hadn't even known it existed before. Honestly, for a "bad" story he wrote in high school, it's pretty storming good.

I like the mistwraith idea the best. I just feels a bit neater. Then again, from an author's point of view, I wonder if Brandon wants us to have to deal with a more morally ambiguous method. "Kelsier's back. Yay! Oh, wait, he killed some dude and stole his body? Ehhh..." It sounds like something Brandon would do.

It is also worth noting that health is rather difficult to store, and one needs to save it up for life-or-death situations. Regrowing a severed body part likely takes quite a bit of it.

I think Mistborn might be my favorite book, and Stormlight archive my favorite series. But like @HSuperLee so aptly put it, it's like trying to pick a favorite cousin. But MB era 1, Elantris, and Stormlight all get to be in my favorites club. His other stuff is still good but those are his best.

The idea was that the honorblades were a manifestation of the siren bond, just like radiant spren (which would be where the radiant spren got the idea). However, I'm already aware there are a lot of problems with that. But bad ideas are the steps one takes to get to a good one, so maybe it will lead somewhere. Me too! This would also be that much more reason why Rlain should bond the Sibling. Who better to bond the spren of Roshar than one of Roshar's original inhabitants? One thought: if this is true, would the Sibling be the spren of the planet Roshar or just the Rosharan continent? The actual continent might be more distinctly perceived by Rosharans, and have a better chance of forming a spren.

So, revised theory. 1. the 10 essences go beyond Vorin theology and are an essential part of Roshar, either by Adonalsium's design, or through the perception of the planet's original inhabitants (likely singers). Being thought of for untold millenia, they developed spren associated with them. These are the "10 massive spren" from my original theory. 2. As per my orignal theory, 9 of these were corrupted by Odium. The tenth? Not sure, but I have an idea or two. We'll get to that. 3. .The sibling is the spren of Roshar. The continent, also being percieved and thought of for eons, would develop a prescence in the cognitive realm. In this way the Bondsmith spren are perfectly balanced: one for Honor (Stormfather), one for Cultivation (Nightwatcher), and one representing Roshar itself. 4. The heralds bonded the spren of the 10 essences. Not so sure about this one, but it's inspired by a theory posted by @Bort (link below). You should check it out; it's fascinating. He theorizes that the unmade are a result of the heralds breaking on Braize. This thread shows a lot of parallels between certain unmade and certain heralds. But what if instead, they are spren that were bonded to the heralds? This would be the source of their power, and the process that the spren would later imitate. It would explain the parallels between heralds and unmade in @Bort's theory. It would also explain why there are only nine unmade. Taln never broke the Oathpact, and so his spren is still his (he's just too crazy to use it). Perhaps the trauma of the broken oaths on these spren is what allowed Odium to infect and "unmake" them. Biggest problem I see with item #4 is that this would make the honorblades something like dead shardblades, but more vast. How could Nale wield his? Why don't they scream? How do the unmade move around if their blade is summoned? So it might not quite work. But there might be something to it. My main theory (#1-3) seems pretty free from problems. I'm sure my fellow Sharders can think of some, though

Spaceships have such varied forms, there are a lot of things that could look at least vaguely like a spaceship. But if I were building a spaceship for a Radiant Order in the far, Sci-Fi future, I might design it to look like their glyphpair, just for the sake of coolness.

A speed bubble is formed in a diameter with the misting in the center, right? So I figure someone near the edge of a speed bubble could make another bubble that extends outwward from them, etc. However, if you're saying that the one speed bubble would interfere with the other, then you may be right. If that's the case, I am both relieved and disappointed.

So I feel like Brandon has to have built in some reason why this allomantic trick woudn't work, because it would be entirely too OP and easy to do. Say you have too Bendalloy Mistings, named (by uncreative parents) A and B. They are standing side by side. A makes a speed bubble (Bubble 1) around both of them. T B moves to about the edge of bubble 1 and makes bubble 2. Both mistings are now standing in the area where both bubbles overlap. A walks to B and turns off bubble 1. Then he walks to the edge of bubble 2 and does the same thing. Essentially, two Beldalloy mistings use overlapping speed bubbles to travel leapfrog-style. They could go anywhere they want in the space of a heartbeat. It would take a lot of money (to buy a ton of Bendalloy) and two Bendalloy mistings, but someone like the Set would have figured out how to do this, and then be able to steal whatever they want and assasinate whomever they wish. But as I said, this feels like it breaks Brandon's nice balanced magic system, so there's probably some reason it doesn't work... ...right?

Ehhh...its not a perfect theory. Edit: Actually, my current theory has them being the spren of the 10 essences. The sibling is the spren of the Rosharan continent. The Stormfather and Nightwatcher would simply be spren of other things. I've actually formed a theory that would fit with @Bort's theory somewhat.

So I'm still slightly list. I recall the story, but what reasons do we have for believing tha a: the story is reliable, and b: the man in it is Nazh?

One of my theories has been that the unmade were 9 of 10 primordial spren that predated the shattering, 9 of which Odium corrupted with his own investiture (as Sja-Anat says,"we were made, then we were unmade"); and then the tenth became the sibling when the Bondsmiths formed. So I'm not sure I can get 100% behind the herald theory just because I don't want to abandon my equally speculative one But I find it both intriguing and plausible, and it's not one I'd thought of before. In the end, if we in the Shard come up with enough speculative theories, chances are one of them will be right, and then we can all say "TOLD YOU SO!" together.

HAS anyone asked Brandon whether there is a city of sentient cognitive shadows on threnody's shadesmar? Potentially only the feral ones show up in the physical realm.
