  1. That is a daring conclusion. We may just be seeing a temporary glitch due to being read out in an unconventional manner. No. That was a fairly ordinary girl. She most likely had only her original Breath. Vasher manipulated her into manipulating it, rather than taking it. Auto-Awakening if you will. Including Hoid's weak points. He won't strike now. He will strike right after exploiting the loop hole.
  2. Yes, but the Set is older. Harmony may just be repurposing.
  3. I am afraid I need to point out that the Ghostbloods have enough reach that a middle manager can have a trophy room with objects even from Yolen. But that is the whole point. You want to look at a working example to learn how it is done. And you would pick something reasonably common, so that your problem that has been persisting for centuries does not depend on catching one of the rarest creatures in the whole Cosmere.
  4. Would they recognise every Cognitive Shadow? Kalak is a Herald not just your average Cognitive Shadow. Yes. One may assume that. But the further assumption that he has to eat, as opposed to likes to eat is questionable. Yes. There is, however, a disgusting further possibility. If the Ire has found a way to put Dor into a storage container, he may be - how to put this delicately - recycling on a very fundamental level. That would mean him coming out in the same clothes every time and what would he need the notes for? Something that you need notes for, yet takes only 5 minutes?
  5. Or that it simply means something like "Supreme Lady Mishram" and Kalak just understands the language. Were there Thunderclasts around? If so she had Connection to at least some stone. What makesyou think that the Connections were severed? Malishi altered the Singers. That looks like rather than breaking the Connection he ripped the anchoring parts out of the Singers. That suggests that soul fragments and some spren ended up in that perfect gem together with Ba-Ado-Mishram.
  6. Harmony is a Shard with access to Futuresight and Fortune. Assuming that he has a need for cause and effect in the strictest sense is dangerous. He may have known that this is necessary, but not the (true) reason. Also I doubt that Harmony does not have a plan B, plan C and plan D. Marasi and Marsh are next in line, I'd say.
  7. I guess nobody would argue that Kelsier would not do all these things if he found them necessary or only beneficial. Ruthless is his middle name. But why? His motivation is kind of a social revolutionary, but at the very top, to survive. If it saved the rest of the Cosmere, he would let Roshar burn. What could he hope to gain from Odium winning?
  8. I must concur. It falls short of Oathbringer. Indeed that is extremely important. It has the potential of rendering a victory moot. There is no point in winning if you thereby destroy Roshar. Unless you are Hoid. If Cultivation wanted to strike, she should have done it immediately upon Taravangian's ascension. It seems to me that while Hoid and Harmony may be ready to let Roshar burn to defeat Odium, she is not. It looks to me like she basically wishes to let him go if he promises to not come back. Tanavast is avenged. Why would she bleed for the rest of the Cosmere any longer? I am sorry, but this still looks like sentimentality to me and demeans their sacrifice. Yes.
  9. By killing him? And Kelsier knew more centuries ago. He made a body for himself and gained additional abilities. And why a Cognitive Shadow suffering the same limitations as himself? Granted Kelsier would do such a thing but he'd turn to Threnody or, even likelier, abduct a Returned for study.
  10. A bald man suggests Elantrian. He also does not eat or defacate or bathe. Either a Cognitive Shadow or an Elantrian. Shallan is a very educated woman. She may not speak Shin, but she would recognise it.
  11. El did a weapons test It was urgent -> The conclusion that that was a test of a weapon to be used during the upcoming duell is hard to avoid Can Odium forsee whom Dalinar will pick? If he knows that it will be Dalinar himself, he knows that he needs to counter a Bondsmith. He needs to counter Tension - The champion needs to fight nude or clad in aluminium. You cannot risk his own clothing fighting him. Adhesion - And that is a real problem. That rules out anybody who needs a bond to be dangerous. Both the Knights Radiant and Odium now have anti-magic fabrials and know that the other side has them. What does that mean?
  12. No Lightweavers under Valor, I suppose. How should I put this? The 20th century has seen armed conflicts during which one side has fought bravely, effectively and boldly, but hardly honorable. The distinction can be made. Honor would have you lose if victory would have taken unacceptable means. Valor is likely to see this the opposite way. If you have to execute or torture prisoners, so be it. Tyr in the myth about Fenrir comes closest. Magic by combat looks like the obvious method. And that makes me think that it is a bit too obvious. But for initialisation - gladiatorical combat? Actually, this may be stupid, but: Pokemon - you do not convince your partner of your honor, but you defeat him.
  13. I would say that the status quo is maintained. However, this would mean that Dalinar will have died.
  14. The Ars Arcanum got extended We learn about Stoneshaping - I would propose this to be a separate topic Microkinesis of Yolen - We have a totally new arcane art. And it can make things go boom. We learn that there are multiple ethers
  15. Windrunners have Adhesion. Kaladin may be able to Connect his Plate with other people. I expect the Bonsmiths to have the same capability.
  16. We got an interaction between Mraize and the occupiers. They were not friendly.
  17. Ulim ended up where he was supposed to end up. Axindweth helped with that. That rules out her being a Ghostblood. Had the Ghostbloods captured a void spren, they would not give it back. The steward may be a Ghostblood. But there is no evidence for that.
  18. She gives a few gems to artisans and has them turned into spheres. Then she has the results measured. I see a clash coming in the second arc. Would Jasnah really sacrifice Roshar to keep Odium captive?
  19. But we saw the vision of the Recreance. Those Blades stayed around.
  20. A Herald specifically. Whether Raysium is necessary or beneficial for the general operation is unclear. Well, no. (Threnody) There is no direct attraction or repulsion. Just to be pedantic and not imply a connection to iron. Or alternatively it would sustain an ordinary Cognitive Shadow but fails for a Herald because they are kept around not by an extraordinary charge but by the oath pact.
  21. They do not have the Blade. Presumably it is still in the Davar ancestral home. Or the Ghostbloods have taken it hostage.
  22. Why? He had a body as far back as saving the Southerners. The Returned have no trouble travelling. Well, from Kelsier leading the Ghostbloods now we cannot necessarily conclude that he founded them. Nor can he necessarily change their mode of operation across multiple worlds. Yet, Kelsier really is not the man who would let his people murder a coachman or would casually deal with Lighteyes.
  23. Sometimes the easiest explanation is best. That is her true name. She is staying under the radar. Any name she gave would be foreign to a Listener. And among the Alethi she would be well advised to pose as an immigrant. She looks odd. So why take the risk of messing up your names or not reacting with natural speed to an assumed name? General fieldcraft is avoiding unnecessary lies.
  24. OK, we agree. So, wild theory time. Why is this relevant? Odium had or has an ally. We also learned that Ambition, Odium and Mercy met in battle. And Mercy worries Harmony. So: She does not work for Odium. She works for Mercy and Mercy cooperates with Odium. Why a Shard called Mercy would take in refugees is kind of obvious, as is a motivation for people to flee (Scadrial) Named Axindweth ? With no reason to use a meaningless alien alias?
  25. The man has spent a year seeing his cousin running around in Plate. His wife is working undercover and a basically unkillable secret agent woman. His father wields the power of a god. His home land is occupied. He has not changed. What did you expect of a man trained to rule and defend his country from the days he started to walk? He has failed. He may not be to blame personally, but he has failed. And he has failed due to personal loyalty.
