Shana grinned at Nym's advice. Most beginners were tense, the advice was sound, but she would have started with the way he held his weapon. "I would train unarmed combat." She turned to Nym. "I am not too proficient with a rapier, so I can't really advice on that, but I learned the hard way, that it is good to have an alternative, in case of loosing one's weapon." Pensively she looked her up and down. "I could teach you some of that, and Rob is really good when it comes to unarmed combat as well. A little better than I am, actually. Or last spar ended in a -" hesitating she looked for a nice description for nearly killing each other. "tie." That sounded harmless. "What about me? Did you notice anything?"

Shana nodded and then sighed. "I've got school tomorrow. We get the results from our math exam last week." She bent forward, picked her weapon up and put it back on the rack. "If you have a few minutes, Ediwn, maybe we could give you some advice on how to move, where to keep your balance." She offered and looked over at Nym. "If you are interested of course. Otherwise I can do it on my own, I simply noticed a few things you could optimize to move more surely during a fight."

Relief crossed Shana's face when Nym stood up, offered to finished the whole thing. She nodded and walked over to her, offered her her hand. "You are good. I really enjoyed this." Honestly coloured her words and she tried to show Nym that she meant it. She had enjoyed it. "We need to do this again." Laughing a little she touched her shoulder and grimaced. "But maybe tomorrow. Or the day after."

Wita nodded quietly, and remained at his side. "They are scary." She said quickly, looked to the ground. "I don't want to meet them." A part of her wondered if she could explain, if she could find the words for it, she shook her head. Not now. If she started to talk about it now, then she would have to face it, and then, she would have to talk about it. She hadn't talked about it once, not with the nice lady, they had sent to her, nor with the others where she lived. "We will hide, and you scare them?" She looked at the fairie's friend and shuddered when the sirens came closer, the lights shining into the room. They were here. Now they couldn't run away anymore. Afraid she clenched her hands together, her body tense. Blue lights. So many blue, blinking lights. Talk to Marcel. She wanted to tell him, so that he understood. That he could see why the lights were bad and why music was good. If he knew, they maybe could find a way around, keep her away from the bad things so that - a groan escaped her lips and she pressed her mouth together. There had to be a way, maybe without her telling him, without facing the memories. If only he knew, then it would be so easy. @Hope Spren

Hello and welcome to the shard! Warbreaker is a good choice, I liked that one a lot! Have so much fun reading it!

"I don't really know." Temeria shrugged. "I lived at our parent's house for another five years or so, I have to admit I lost track due to the travelling." She paused, wondered what she should talk about. "One day, I was late, had spend too much time at the market and I knew that our mother was receiving guests. So I hurried home, used a shortcut." Laughing a little she shook her head. "It sounds like a story out of a book, the mean shortcut- but fact is, I ran into a robber of some sort. He wanted to have the money, but I'd spend most of it, he though I was a rich brat, which I kind of was, but the cloths mother made me wear didn't help." Gratefully she nodded at the waiter when he placed her drink on the table and waited until he was gone before going on. "In short, I killed him. And then I was too afraid to go home again, so I just strolled through the city. There was a cart and I approached it, crawled onto it to steal some cloths to change into, to get rid of my bloodstained ones." A part of her wondered how she could keep that calm and relaxed while telling the tale. It sounded strange, as if it was the story of a stranger. "Before I could hop off again they started to move and then I was too scared to jump and then I ended up on Nalthis. Without any money, and without speaking the language. Wasn't the best time in my life."

Lena grinned at him, reached out and straightened his wig. "One day, you'll be really good at it. This will do for now." She picked up some chocolate bars and stuffed them into her bag as well. You never knew. Tilting her head to the side she added some pancakes as well. Maybe she could had them out to some of the guards, or maybe she simply ate them herself. If she was honest with herself, she was excited. It was a great feeling to head out ot a heist, to do something more than just stroll the streets at night. She walked over to the door and then stepped outside and then closed the it behind them. They were doing it. They were finally back to where they started and it felt good. To leave all the pretending aside, to just be who she was. No ties, nothing to take care off. She could be bold and it would be the right thing. "Let's go. We've got a guild to rob."

Shana slowly pushed herself up, groaned when her body protested the movement, but she didn't give up. Lashing was about gravity, if she managed to straighten, then she still would have trouble moving, but at least she stood. Everything was better than lying on the ground. And she was tired of lying around. She looked at Nym's face saw the expression there and had to take a breath. At one point this had become personal for Nym. Maybe she wanted to proove that she was good, that she could be a worthy addition to their team. Maybe she simply liked to win. Shana hesitated, unsure what to do with it. The attitude somehow made the duel different from the ones with Rob, where it was about skill, about endurance, but not about winning. It was easy to put aside her pride against Rob, but against Nym. Could she loose against the new girl? She grit her teeth when her pride surged, made her keep quiet and look at the two. If she lost, then she was old, then there was someone better than herself. And she couldn't accept that. Not after Ashlyn was here. If she lost, then Nym would take her place and she was useless. Nothing more than a remnant of the past, a thing long forgotten. It was her place to fight for them. She had to. If she didn't - she lost her reason to be here.

Mike looked at him for a moment, then got back to his feet, impressed by Squid. She had done a great job freeing them. "You could leave, sir, if you want to, that is." He offered slowly, unsure why the stranger was here at all. "Then let's talk!" He shouted up to the hole in the ceiling. "Where are the others, what do you know about those that killed Mr. Itiah?" @Oduim’s Chmapion

"Then flee." Sagitta shrugged. "You can always leave." She was annoyed by Zura's attitude, by the way she discarded everything, every kindness without looking at it twice. That she even had considered to help her - maybe Price had been right. The Cahayan's she met had been nice and kind people, but Zura was nothing but an endless stream of complaints and accusations. Even Price had looked past his prejudices when he agreed to take her under his wing, he had accepted that while different, in the end they were all human. If Zure couldn't - Sagitta wouldn't force her to. Maybe it was better for all of them if she left.

Shana grit her teeth against the lashing, wondered why it worked, wasn't there something about Investiture resisting Investiture? She had covered her legs in stormlight - Ben would know. She closed her eyes, tried to tell herself, that it was only a surge, that there was nothing bad here. It was fun, training. Wide eyed she stared at Nym while she tried to breathe but even breathing was difficult. He chest didn't really move and she gasped, the motion too familiar and she had to ball her fists to brace herself. She chould breathe. It was only a surge. Still the fear lingered and she focused, reached out for Nym's body. It was easy, connection, touch worked in both directions and she mentally touched Nym's skin. Just a little burn and - no. Shana shook her head, exhaled and covered her whole body in stormlight. A little push against Nym's hand was enough to send her slittering over the floor, still sticking to it, but at least she was out of reach for the moment. She shook her head, tried to get rid of the thoughts in her minds, tried to move past the mindset, that allowed her to burn. Shana wanted to curl up when she realized what she had been about to do, again. Wasn't it enough that she could do it, that she that incinerated Voidbringers today? Why did she resort to it - because she had been afraid. ================ Mahad hummed when she touched his shoulder and moved closer, watched her draw. "A dragon." He whispered in awe. "It's so beautiful!" Gently he curled up around her feet, made sure she could step out of his try at an embrace. "Humans are so complicated." He agreed, wondered if there was something he could do for her. "When you have no idea the next time, I can have Shana come by and check on him?" He offered. "She could make sure, that he's alright and stay with him, until we know for sure." Fear made him loose his shape, when he remembered Joy, and he was nothing more than a dark cloud of an ash-like structure "Or you tell me and I try to talk to him. I can paint messages on his wall." He added urgently. "Just tell me, before he does something stupid."

His sudden change of mood surprised her and she replayed his words in her head, but wasn't able to follow his line of thought from work back to the mirror cave. "That's fine." She replied and wondered what to do with him now. She couldn't leave him behind on his own, not in an unknown place. She carefully covered her irritation at his change of mind and added. "Until we know what awaits us in the cave, all speculations are nothing but that - speculations. The decision itself is the same. Go to a unknown place and risk finding something uncomfortable or not." She left it at that, returned to her earlier trail of thought. "I could use an engineer for Oasis." She told him, without specifying for what exactly. She took her time to consider her wording, again as an offer, not as an order. "If you are interested, I could send you the details afterwards, you look them over and you agree or decline. No matter how you decide, it's fine. You are smart and inventive, I think we could use someone like you on the team."

Mahad changed back into the little winged dragon and walked over, looked at what Cup was drawing in the dirt. "A dragon." He replied and streched his wings. "They are strong, and they can breathe fire." Sitting down he folded his wings on his back snd used his snout the add another swirl to her picture. "And humans are delighted when they see a little dragon." He added, paused and looked at her, added quietly "Shana likes dragons, so I try to be a dragon. She tries to save them all, takes too much on her shoulders and if she smiles because I am a dragon, then a dragon is good. I don't know what else to do." The grass beneath him started to smolder and he quickly moved aside, moved to the dirt. "I want for her to be happy, and she sometimes is. When she fights or talks to your human, or when she is with Glint's, or sometimes with the one who bonded her. She's so afraid, and then covers it with anger, and I tell her, that it's fine if she needs help, but she doesn't accept it." Straightening he added another swirl to the painting. "So I'm a dragon, hopefully a cute one. And I don't paint, unless it's something special. And I don't break things to look inside. Because when I do she is sad, and I don't want for her to be sad."

Little rabbits. Mahad flew over to the wall, shaped himself like a flat version of a little rabbit and pressed his body again the wall, burning its surface. When he flew away he left the shape of a little rabbit behind. Proudly he turned to Cup, to see how she reacted, hoped that she would like it. "Don't tell Shana." he flew in a quick circle, remembered that she couldn't fly and landed on the ground. "She doesn't like it, when I paint." Looking around he noticed a patch or earth close by and moved over, waited for Cup to join him.

His legs were still trapped and Mike felt sewat on his forehead, when he couldn't free himself. Trapped. The smell of the antiseptic, the androgyn face above him. The animals in their cages. Unable to move his hands and feet, nothing to do but to listen to the last breath of the animal, the air cool on his bare chest. And the whole time the man, it had been a man, maybe a woman, he wasn't even sure anymore, he only saw their face, unable to place a label on them, unable to do anything else but watch the spike come closer. Swallowing he tried to convince himself, that everything was fine, that Jacien was going to help, that this was nothing but a missunderstanding. "He is part of, or he knows about the Uninvested. The assassinated several people in Oasis, and we are trying to find the origin, we try to find out why they did it, what they did." He blurted out, hoped that Lusk would help him as well, that he would say something. Trapped. Mike hugged himself, felt Fox on the border of his mind again, he pushed forward, wanted to take over, to get them out. Something cool touched his hand and when he looked down he saw squid. Squid. Mike liked squid, always calm and nice, gentle. Fox was moving closer and he stared at his dark, mean eyes, fox would kill him, fox would - He tried to move, to get away, but his legs were still trapped and there was nothing he could do. Jacien, Fox, the strange one behind Jacien, they would - Squid took control and Mike gasped at the gently coolness that came with her. Squid had never taken control, had been content to stay back and to comfort him in silence. Mike stared in awe when he watched her take his place, when she left him down in the darkness where he stayed when one of them took control. Squid changed her legs into arms, or tentacles however you wanted to call them, easily freeing herself from the vines. It left her on the floor, but then she didn't really care, human's were strange with their walking on two legs anyway. Carefully she removed her arms from the grip on the vines and then morphed them back. Mike was cute, but he tended to freak out easily. "The organisation are called the Uninvested, and Vio has been there during the attack. We have reasons to believe that he belongs to them, helped stage the assassination." Her voice was still Mike's, but it was a little softer than before. "We also have some hints regarding a warehouse, so we can go there, and check that place out to see if we can find some clues." @Sunbringer ========== @I think I am here.

"I'm not sure about that." Althea admitted. The thought to meet a clone of herself was disturbing. And dangerous. It lead to the question what said clone might do, how they might act and if they were able to leave the cave. "Too many political problems with two Altheas around." She specified, "Although I agree, a discussion with myself, of a clone to send off to some of the official appointments would be great. It adds the question if we are able to perceive what our clones see. It's unlikely, but if we are, then you could use that clone as bait, or you had literally the chance to be in two places at the same time." Such a connection was difficult, well it depended on the information that was transfered, but in the end, as a theoretical opportunity it offered so many possibilities. Pensively she looked at Wes. The boy was bright and asked good questions. A little bit too scared, but that could change when he grew up. "Where do you work, when you aren't with your squad?" She asked him, made sure that he voice showed nothing but mild curiosity. He should know, that she could look it up anytime, but to ask was more polite, and if offered him a chance to deflect her question - which he wouldn't do. @ElephantEarwax @I think I am here.

Hello @Coda here's your rated version of the character sheet. I saw that you edited and assumed, that it's good for rating. The character is approved, I added them to the list.
-
Alright here's the rating: You are right, that leaves him at a way too high score, but even without the surge he would be above the limit. What is missing: We usually substract points for the oaths a Radiant has spoken. As I don't know his oaths, I couldn't do that, so if possible, I'd like to ask you to share them with me. If you don't want to add them to his character sheet, you can always use a pm. Regarding the surge: We don't add skills for free, if there is no IC reason, the character won't use them. This will lead to a situation, where the character logically would use the skill, but can't because of some OOC point problem. That's why we decided to count the surge as a full surge. If there is an IC reason leading to him to use it only in special situation, I can lower the points of course, but you will have to pay a little for it. His weaknesses: If he is willing to die/ receive severe bodily harm to avoid killing someone I can up the points for the tactical decision by 5. All in all, I think it should be easily possible to get him within the limit with only some minor adjustments.

Shana felt Nym press tighter on her leg and she continued to pull, freeing her leg rather easily due to her surge. Still it took up some time and when she reached over, touched Nym's weapon lying on the ground next to them, she felt Edwin's staff connect with her arm. Pain lanced though her arm, but she still clomped her arm down on the rapier, ripped it apart. She had paid a larger price for this, than she'd expected, but at least now, the weapon was gone. Now it depended on the question wether Nym had trained without a weapon as well. She moved her leg in an arch, aimed a kick at Nym's head, unable to try to get at Edwin from her current position. @Aragorn @Eluvianii

Snake hissed angrily, surprised at the roots, growing over Mike's feet. She tried to wiggle free, but feet were no snakes body and so she withdraw. Mike jumped into the opening she left and looked at the new person. "I'm Mike." He quickly introduced himself, before one of the animals could do it and cause ever more confusion. "May I ask who you are?" His voice shook slightly, while he tried to look around, to grasp the situation. He had lost grip on himself, even more than before. He hadn't even understood what happened, while he had sat in the darkness, the night slowly pressing in on him. ============= @Oduim’s Chmapion
