  1. Mahad raced after him, but was unmistakingly slower. When he was outside he turned around looked for Glint. ===================== Shana shook her head. "I spared with Rob, it went," She hesitated, unsure how to phrase it as she didn't really want to talk with Ben about her fear. She liked him, and she wanted him to like her, not pity her over her parents. "alright. He's a lot better with his surges." "I guess I should do some homework, but apart from that, nothing."
  2. Let's go? Mahad asked excitedly, completely forgetting that he had proposed to go searching sometime later. ============= Shana smiled. "Thank you. It seems like it won't be the last one." Leaning back she looked at the ceiling, before looking back at Ben. "Do you know what you want to do after school? What you want to work or study?"
  3. "You're right it has." She looked up again, forced herself to watch the people walking by. "The woman in red, a bit malnourished, otherwise healthy, the man with the green tunic has an aching teeth. The man carrying the brown bag over his shoulder will loose a finger within this week - if he can afford it. Otherwise the finger will poison his body. The boy running towards the fenns needs a good meal as well, most of them do. Only a few are really healthy, but at least most of them won't die soon. Smiling at Aldred she shook her head. "I can't afford the university. But maybe asking the mage you mentioned will be enough."
  4. Mike followed Bella, excited that she had grinned at him. He called towards their other members, invited them to come along as well, if they wanted to. He sat down on a sideboard facing the door and placed his notebook and the sheet of paper he was working on on his knees. Then he studied the plans again, thought of a good way for them to succeed. @Steel Inquisitive @Jaywalk @whattheHoid @Clyde Froggins
  5. At least for a while
  6. Amara stopped asking questions, when she saw him become uncomfortable. She had only a vague idea what a Sayer was, but if he was something else it didn't matter. "Do you know someone experienced with seeing things? As in every human? I need to learn how to control my magic, here are so many people and I can't work through everything. I can barely look at a crowd anymore." She trailed of, looked at her feet.
  7. We could search the trees for more nests one day. Shana can climb up and fetch them for us. ============== Shana slowly reached over and took Ben's hand, placed the eggshell inside. "Here, you should take it."
  8. I'm so happy you like it. Mahad observed him, then flew closer, the ashcloud forming his body moving quickly, showing his excitement and happiness. ============== Shana watched their spren, smiling. "They're adorable." She said softly.
  9. Mahad sat down on Shana's arm and she opened her fingers, showed the eggshell to Glint. For you.
  10. Nodding she grabbed her shoes and followed him upstairs. "See you later." She called and then looked at Mahad. "What do you need me to do?" Her spren hovered exitedly into the air in front of her. "There's this tree with a nest. And they hatched just yesterday. Fetch a piece of an empty egg for me?" She sighed. "Honestly?" He whirled around her head, urging her to go. "I found a friend and he wanted to have a piece of an egg." Shana laughed and stepped into the garden, followed Mahad to the tree. It was a tall, but it had large branches and if she jumped she could reach some lower ones easily. Carefully she tested her arm and then started to climb. Following his directions up, she paused when she saw an eggshell not far away. "Is that one enough? I'd prefer to not plunder the nest itself." He agreed and so she fetched it, then climbed down again. "Now take it to Glint." Mahad commanded and she saluted him mockingly. "Yes, sir. Your personal Radiant is ready to fulfill all your wishes." Walking back inside she looked for Ben and finally found him sitting with some of the others. There were some new faces as well, and she waved a general greeting into the room, wondering how many more people Doc would be able to accomodate. But then, it was probably safer for all of them, if they stayed together. She sat down next to Ben, smiled at him apologetically. "Mahad would like to talk to Glint. Is he with you?" She asked in a low voice, as to not disturb the others. @Lunamor
  11. Althea finished eating and followed him into the kitchen, taking the empty roasting pan with her. She grinned at Max. "You know me. What do you think?" She placed the dirty dishes into the sink and fetched three new plates and forks. "There should be some icecream as well."
  12. Mike took the plans and looked them over. "Sure. Over there in the room to the side is a board we could use. There's also a coffee machine and some chairs, so maybe it's better to plan there."
  13. Mike grit his teeth in frustration. He felt lost, these guys seemed to be a lot more organized than they were. For a moment he considered to simply play along, they needed a plan, but then he decided against it. At least partially. If he let Syndicate decide everything, they wouldn't have a say at all. He already moved his men where it fit him. "The plans?" He repeated and then explained: "I want to be a part of the planing, not listen to what you've thought of." That was stupid, why did he explain something to this man? He should be strong, self-confident. Nervousely he added. "Please?" Which probably only made things worse.
  14. Mike finished the note he was writing and got to his feet. "How many of your gang are already in here?" He asked suspiciously.
  15. Happily Shana got to her feet as well. "Thanks. It certaily had my pulse spike." She replied wryly. "Let's head back upstairs? Or do you want to go another round?"
  16. "Give me pencils and rulers andvressources to make great art and I will grow bored and head outside." She thought for a moment. "Help me focus and concentrate to learn my surges and we can work on a more creative way to fight for you together? Make you unpredictable?"
  17. Lena raised an eyebrow, but didn't ask. "And what's your job at the forge?"
  18. "Nothing except the place, as far as I know." Amara nodded when he mentioned the mage. "The more we are, the better. I heard it's dangerous, but I've never been there. But then I've never been to a city this large before." Closing her eyes she rested her head on her knees, grit her teeth against the headache. It was too much, and she had no idea how to stop it, how to stop the colours, the signatures. She was used to look closely, to search for details, not for an entire city full of not completely healthy people. Opening her eyes again she reached into her pinnate, took out some lavender and inhaled deeply. It helped a bit, she liked it's smell and it calmed her. "What kind of magic do you use?" She asked Aldred.
  19. Mike looked at Syndicate and then he smiled, a cold smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. Bella still felt the need to defend him, well he would show her. "I don't need to be an epic too see what you are. Teleporting out of danger's way like you did earlier. Not even helping when they attacked. But then, not everybody has to know how to fight, don't worry about it. We all have our skills and I am sure seeing things is unique and powerfull." He couldn't quite keep the sarcasm out of his voice, but then decided he didn't care. Syndicate had started this. If he wanted to play it like a child would - Mike certainly knew how to do that. He made a short note on the sheet of paper, wrote a few sentences, before he climbed to his feet. "Bella said we're in, so we're in. Let me take a look at those plans of yours, and then maybe I should show you around. And I'd like to take a look at those crates of yours." "Let's make a good plan, and then start the operation?" @Ark1002 @Nohadon
  20. Lena turned to Nekorb. "What did you do during the last year?" She asked him, as it seemed like their host might still take a while. Fit her well, speeches were boring. @xinoehp512
  21. "I don't really know what's going on." Amara sighed, then left her pinnate to sit down next to him, carefully covering her legs as soon as she sat. Her hand closed around one of the straps, to make sure nobody would steal it. "We've been told rumors that people vanish. Children, women, men. We got a glove from the man over there as well as a description, and figured we could try to find them." She looked around, softly massaging her temples. So many people, they were giving her a headache. So many were ill or injured or depended on some plants. So many were starving, their bodies tinted by a sick orange light. And she saw it all, saw who was supposed to die, who would survive, who would end up a cripple.
  22. "Sure." She sat down her pinnate and used the moment stretch her back and loosen her shoulders. It was heavy, and while she was used to its weight, she was always happy when she could set it down. Sorting through it, she handed a tunic to Chadwick. "So you'll fetch those at the tavern, and we follow him," She gestured towards Algorath, "To whereever the lost ones are?" While waiting for an answer she made sure some bandages and potentially useful herbs were securely placed at the top of her pinnate, so that she could reach them quickly. @Turtle373 @Steel Inquisitive @Vargo Seldon
