Zokora stepped inside Shadesmar. What she saw made her blood freeze and she wanted to leave again, but then she stayed, stared at the barrier and the spren trapped behind. Angry spren, strange spren. She would have to ask Althea what they were. Althea knew such things. Althea in general would have been the better choice to come here. But she wasn’t. She’d really need to ask for an upgrade regarding her payment. Walking closer she took a look at the barrier. It was strong, the spren moving fastl, pressing against it. It was pure chance that had her look up, when it faltered, when the barrier was gone for a moment and the spren rushed towards her. Zokora left, returned to the city. The Space marines. Maybe they could use this somehow. She headed to them, remembered where she had placed them and simply addressed the first soldier she found. “Where is your commander? Did the barrier falter here as well?” @Grey Knight

Tournament: Cosmere Character Roast Battles
Sorana replied to Ashspren's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Honestly, for me, that was the hardest decision, of all tournaments so far. Both of you were so good, I can't even think of words fitting your creations. I'm awed.- 2784 replies

Dove. He’d called her dove. Told her, she could stay without working, without paying, he requested nothing. Only allowed her to stay. She stared after Jeb, tried to understand what had happened right now, tried to stay in control of herself. Nice, they were all so nice, didn’t expect anything. She’d never been religious, but here and now she wished she could thank anybody for letting her cross their paths, for giving her this opportunity. “It depends.” She replied to Brillin. “Itself, the parlor is no good target. The trainstation, the canal, they are better. If you control them, you can control the trade here in the octant.” Pausing she looked at him, her voice shaking, when she slowly lost the fight “If the parlor is one of the first ones to switch sides, they might come here regardless. To show off their strength, to stop others from following us. Punishment for betrayal.” Attayl took another breath and knew she’d lost that fight. Usually she could act a part, but Jeb’s words had touched something in her, she hadn’t felt in years. When Brillin cared, that had been close, when Nerin offered her a spot in her room, it had been close but not like that. Again, she looked at the door where he had vanished and then she hastened out of the room, lowered her head to hide her face. The kitchen, she knew the way to the kitchen. Attayl sat down next to a cupoboard, pulled her knees up to her chest and gave in. Tears ran over her face, and she sobbed quietly. For the family she had lost, for those that had ruled over her life, that never cared but still kept her alive. For the friends that had been slaughtered yesterday. But mostly because of the kindness of Nerin and Brillin and the wolfbrothers, that had covered for her. Because of Jeb, who simply looked at her and extended his hand. She tried to muffle her sobs with her skirt, embarrassed by herself, but unable to stop it, overwhelmed by the situation. @I think I am here.

Could you add Ark as well? He asked somewhere above.

Everybody is supposed to be a part of this. And yes, I'm sure we can find a good place for you to participate, if only by thinking about the situation or trying things out. Most of my characters are really, really bad fighters and they still can participate. In general we are thinking about posting a summary of each chapter of the plot here, so that everybody can read through it and see if it fits or not, and if they have an idea throw it in as well.

Althea thought about his suggestions, her red eyes looking through the sewer. A cage. She could soulcast a cage, preferably metal. Strong enough to hold him - thick metal. Steel, not too brittle, able to be deformed before breaking. She paused. Outside, it wouldn't have been an issue, but here. Soulcasting was versatile, but there were a few rules. And one of them was, that the mass stayed more or less the same. So she needed something, of roughly the same mass than the cage would be, to change into it. And not only that, but preferably in the same place as well. Using the ground would only partially work. Althea carefully put on her sunglasses, blinding herself to almost everything around her. Then she inhaled. Her body glowed in a blazing light, illuminating the tunnel, making her eyes hurt despite the sunglasses. She knew the stormlight would heal the damage, just as it had healed them years ago, when it had restored her nearly vanished sight, but they still watered, stormligh only took the damage, not the pain. Protect me, please? I can see almost nothing at all. She asked Max and then focused on the stone, on the spren inside. She started to bargain with the spren, and when it agreed, she moved on. So many different stones, so many spren. She kept them all on a leash, left a little bit of her concentration with them, they needed to change at the same time. If she changed too many stones at the same place, the ceiling and the floor would break. So only one. And another one, until she had enough for a thick, solid cage. @Gancho Libre

Lizanne thought about the information for a while. At least four people. That were three too many. Sounding frightened. "If there's soldiers on the way here, we need to leave." She voiced her thoughts. "If they are fightened because of the soldiers, then we should avoid the soldiers. We are strangers, intruders, we can be lucky if they only -" her voice broke and she swallowed, pushed the memory aside, out of the way. "- only capture us. So, in my opinion we should be gone, hidden away when they look for what happened here. I don't want to try to explain, how I am here." Leaning against a tree to remove weight from her leg she looked over at the hut. "At least four people. Do any of you think, we can risk to knock on that door?" @ZincAboutIt @I think I am here. @Silva @kenod

"Thank you." Shana smiled at him happily. Ben was to tired to argue and that suit her fine. Her room was her problem, and she would clean it up. Tomorrow. No, they went shopping tomorrow, the day after. For sure, the day after tomorrow.

Storms. He had known what she was aiming at, without her voicing it loudly. Albeit the other way round. "I can sleep on the floor of your room?" She asked and added quickly to forestal any argument: "My room is so untidy, I'm not sure if I've got enough space on the floor left." The truth. And more importantly she didn't want for him to sleep between her things. She had to tidy up, soon. His room was so clean and neat, she felt bad about her own.

"I'm sure there are." Lena looked at the monster, as it slowly turned towards them. Glavris had just cost them the time they needed to run. So much for helping. "If you can't fight as well, I suggest we run."

Yeah. But a plot is only there for the characters. So have to change your future events based on the actions of the characters. Imagine it like writing a story together with everybody else. And their actions are their small events that then influence a larger one. I as a Player want to be able to change future evens with my ideas and my actions. And for that it can't be set in stone what will happen in the future. So if I have a good idea and kill the bad guy, because I suspect him, then he's dead and the plot goes on without him. There is always a way to adapt a plot based on what the PCs do. That's the style I would prefer for the main plot. Evolving. With a starting conflict and rough outline, and then to see what is tried, what is done, and only after this future events get decided. That's what I was trying to say. EDIT: you wrote, that you are frustrated, that you can't influence what's happening in Rivers of Blood. That's what I mean. It's railroaded, as was the Other side of the World. There are no reactions whatsoever to the player. But if there were, then you wouldn't feel the need to be in the planing pm, because you as a player, because everybody had a chance to change the direction it's heading.
-
I'd like to be a part of it.
-
In general I would prefer, if the next main plot would less railroaded and more reacting to other player's actions. Give a starting situation, see what happens and then write the next chapter based on that. I don't feel like that is the way right now and @xinoehp512 that wasn't the way when you ran the other side of the world. My character's actions were 100% useless, it happened what was planed. Andto me that's frustrating. It's one thing if everybody agrees on the plot up front and then act it out, but to participate without a chance to influence it...

Shana sat down next to Ben again. She would show Sawyer her room later. "Ben..." She started slowly, took his hand. There was no good way to ask this, it felt as if she was intruding, or maybe pushing him. "So the nightmares, I know you are tired and -" Not really better. "I'm afraid to head to bed this evening." She confessed, without looking at him. @Lunamor

"I'm fine." She stood up, brushed her fingers over his sleeve, relieved when she felt the cloth she was seeing. "The kid healed the damage and thankfully I'm hard to injure permanently." Her words sounded so matter of factly, that she gently squeezed his fingers, to tell him everything she didn't dare to put into words right now. How she wished that Vesuvius would be dead and the others gone. How she wanted him to hold her for a few heartbeats. Later. Do you have a plan a strategy? Half of the time we are endangering each other. She asked instead, focussing on the task at hand.
