  1. "You just explained to me, that riding back to my homeland is difficult." Sagitta raised an eyebrow and shook her head. He'd made a mistake here. "And now you offer it to me, just like that? How can I know, that you'll ever let me go?" She asked, because she was too tired to play the game correctly, to dance around the truth wit hhalf-truths and more half-truths. Her mother was brilliant at this game, her sister as well. But she was hurting and despite the bread still hungry. She needed the food, the place to stay, and he knew it. He had her in his hand, at least for the next days. She was too exhausted to go on. But at the same time she doubted that he planned to let her go. He'd basically told her. They needed her. For scientific tests. Feeling sick she started to wonder if what you heard about Tühine was the truth, about the people living here, or if it was exaggerated by the raging war.
  2. Probably some form of Biotics. Moving the earth around using Mass Effect Fields. She could see some colonies call it a different way. Especially, if they didn't tell their children about the Alliance anymore. Whoever had imprisoned them, had to be dangerous. Jessy streched her muscles, made sure her body hadn't grown stiff from lying around. They would show themselves, soon she guessed. "Don't say another word." She told Cheh. "And sit down next to me." If they were being observed, if they were studied, maybe doing nothing, provoked some kind of reaction. "Good."
  3. "Because it's the enemy." A confused look crossed his face, while he followed Wes outside. You couldn't bring a building down, while inside. "Or at least, a part of the enemy?" His voice turned questioning, the signals he got were confusing, but they were what he had. "The sky belongs to her, she rules the sky. Nobody has the right to trespass. I need to find the enemy, and the enemy is here." Above him the flames spread over the dome and he looked at it in awe. "She's beautiful, isn't she?" He asked Wes and smiled. "She will destroy this enemy for sure." =========================== Althea continued to look at the ground, grateful for the shades she could make out by now. The Phoenix. Slowly she found the missing pieces, why she felt so weak, the woman injecting something, Max, and the Phoenix. The man who wanted to sacrifice them. There she was. The mighty Righthand, helpless like a small Underling. For a moment the sky lit up, and even she could see the shine of the fire, fear reaching out for her again. Fire. The city, the woman. Sebastian killing Solace. Althea lifted her hands and pressed them to her face, her sleeves falling backwards, showing the tattoo that had been a part of her for so many years. A Ghostblood. Inhale, exhale, the fire was far away, so far away, that she was save, it couldn't reach her. The Phoenix. Max rioting her, dragging everything out in the open, until she was back on the cliff, staring down, nothing left but that last, final jump, her life worthless. Althea felt her breathing picking up, but her lungs gave up when she tried to inhale more air, tried to breathe more quickly and she coughed painfully, rand for air. She moved over to Max, her flingers reaching out for his, tried to find comfort in the fact that he was here, that he was real. Oasis wasn't real. Sebastian was dead as well. Memories, nothing but memories. Unreal, memories, but they were strong, they were so strong. She remembered the fire burning through the houses, how the woman had screamed when she had soulcast her flesh, when she had sacrificed her. Althea moved Max hand to her face and pressed her forehead against it, tried to calm down, to think about their situation, about what they should do, how to get out. And yet the fire, the Phoenix attacking Oasis again and again. Her people dying. She had sworn to protect them and she was failing, she was failing. It was her resposibilty, to keep them safe, to make sure they would survive, that Oasis was a haven for those in need of a place to rest. Her hand started to shiver, when she took another breath, when she remembered kneeling in the bllod of her people, the Phoenix destroying her city, Septhis destroying her city, the people going crazy, killing each other. She felt her nails claw at her face again in an attempt to flee the emotions. It had been supposed to be a meeting. Nothing more but a harmless meeting. Blood, so much blood, so much pain and desperation. ========================= Lena allowed the woman to move, didn't care where she was lying around. Sitting down she started to sort through her bag, looked for some poisons she could combine. They needed to be strong. Strong enough for the huge bird, but at the same time slow. The woman was to weak to survive another strong poison for a long time. @Truthless of Shinovar
  4. Pondering Sagitta tapped her fingers on the table. Test her instinct. Reveal what she could do, but also see what they knew. Her abilities were no secret and she wasn't that effective outside of a battle. Most of the time she used it with a sword in her hand. A sword. Maybe she could get a weapon here, an armor. Money. Enough to leave and to find a way back home. "What's in it for me? You will gain lots of knowledge, enough to traing your own Instincts. Knowledge is worth more than just a few pieces of bread."
  5. Confused Jessy raised an eyebrow, then forced a slightly artificial smile on her face. Probably his colony was organized in tribes. Terrible, that the kids didn't learn anything about earth and their ancestors anymore. But then, maybe he was pretending to be dumb, or he really had no idea what the Alliance was. both options looked bad for her. "My parents choose my name." She replied instead. "I'm from Earth."
  6. Sagitta took the water and drank before replying to his proposition. Voluntary testing. Helping them. It was interesting, that there weren't that many Intensity Instincs here though, it meant, she would have to be careful to reveal the extent of her abilities. Probably they didn't know what she was able to do. His words were a bargain. Stay here, get some medical help, free food and a roof over your head, but help them. "You want me to join your army?" She asked to make sure, she had understood what he was aiming at. She didn't mind Tühine, but if she fought, if she sacrificed her life, she would do it for her own country. Grimacing she had admitted to herself, that he was right, getting back would be difficult, the nomads would only capture her again and nobody in Cahayan would belive she'd ended up in Tühine accidently. She had to find another way, maybe some merchants. But not in her current condition. She doubted she could make it to the next town. For now she was stuck.
  7. "Captain Jessy Newman, Alliance Special Forces." She replied curtly and looked around. Probably some cameras to observe them, sensonrs to follow their movements and microphones recording their conversation. She had to be careful what she was talking about. Who could have captured her. The boy, probably from one of the colonies, but if she was here, it had to mean something. She couldn't recall what had happened, how she had ended up in that place, but that she was here bore a certain significance. And the boy - "What are your skills? What are you specialized on?"
  8. Sagitta nodded, proudly straightened her back. She wasn't only a soldier sie was "Second heavy infantry, the Bear's regiment. Trained with the long sword." One of the more famous regiments, known for their brave hearts and their ferocity in battle. She brushed her dirty hair out of her face and continued to eat, thinking. The bread, she hadn't eaten such good bread for years. But still, she had to go back. She had to fight, had to protect her country. It was grave, that she had lost her weapon and armor, but still, she could regain them, earn the honor the fight beneath the banner of the bear again. "How can I get back to Ta'e'ilo?"
  9. Jessy was jolted awake by some light and reacted instinctively. She got to her feet, crouched low, observed her surroundings. A prison. Two men were inside of it with her. Her hand reached for her side - nothing. Of course. You didn't throw someone in prison with their weapon at hand. Concentration she felt her amp warm slightly when she reached for her biotic and smiled in satisfaction. They hadn't taken her most dangerous weapon. One of the men was looking around, looking at her and she got to her feet. "Who are you?" she asked bluntly. @I think I am here.
  10. Sagitta followed him inside, her eyes noting the soldier on the fields, the way the gates were located. She judge their defenses by what she saw, and was impressed, but hid it behind her exhaustion, the tiredness and the hunger. Typical. End up in a country, that might or might thing of you as an enemy in the hand of some higher up. Tiredly she sat down, wondered how she should ever make it back home. She had to fight, had to defend. When he threw her the bread she caught it, held it close for a moment. Half a loaf, for her. She had never hungered, not at home, and while there had been times in the army when food had been sparse she had never hungered like the past days. It was hard to suppress the urge to start eating immediatly, to eat instead of replying, but she only tore a large chunk off and bit into the soft bread. Bread. It tasted like heaven. She swallowed, took another bite, and another, then caught herself. "Ta'e'ilo. And Intensity." That counted as reply. Almost hurried she continued to eat, never quite letting him out of her sight to judge his reaction.
  11. Shana nodded, reached out for his pouch and grabbed one of the crystals there. He knew she could do it, she had made him trip before, so he was probably only asking to be polite. Inhaling she smiled when she felt the familiar unruly storm inside of her, just a little bit, but enough to close the gash on her side and to make her feel strong, lively again. Concentrating she reached for the stormlight, held it close, then pictured what she was going to do. Another blot of red lightning cracked through the air and she counted, waited until the next one was blocked by the shield, then stood up. Witha sewwping gesture of her hand she slickened the ground where the Voidbringers stood, stried to be as fast as possible, to catch them all at the same time. She was faster, more efficient with Division, but given their limited supply of stormlight she figured that Rob was right. Abrasion was the better choice for the situation. ====================== The violett crystal grew its roots deep into the group, surrounding the Voidbringers close to him with its errie violett and almost black glow. Their eyes changed slightly, their movements becakme faster, their bolts stronger.
  12. Mart cuddled close to her and closed his eyes. "My grandma always said, that mum isn't a bad person. She's just different." His fingers tipped against his forehead in a gesture indicating someone crazy, obviously copying it from someone else. "It's why I don't life with her."
  13. Well, I personally don't like the tone of this discussion at the moment. To me it should be about forming an opinion, not about blaming each other for mistakes/ things that didn't go well. I propose that we vote on whether we do that plot line or not and if we spread it out over two eras or not.
  14. "Come on Seom." Mike called up to her. "And bring Wes. We need to bring this building down." ======= Zokora inclined her head gratefully. "After you?" She asked Baker Pi. @AonEne
  15. Tühine. Sagitta followed his glance to the base and frowned. Tühine. She had heard of Tühine, her parents had traded with Tühine. "Alright." She agreed. There was no other choice. Maybe he could help her. And for now she needed food.
  16. Grateful Shana took hold of the shield. "Ben, he can't walk." She told Rob breathless, her voice shaking from fear and anxiety. "We ran out of stormlight, because we - played pranks and hid." Blushing she positioned herself better, eyed the three in front of them. "And I didn't bring a weapon." With a gesture of her fingers she asked Mahad to look around, if someone else was available, if they all had heard the call. Who knew, maybe someone else was attacked as well. She forced herself to take a deep breath, and then continued. "I have no experience with a shield." she told Rob quietly. "But I am more or less useful in hand to hand. I could draw their attention for you to finish them off." The Voidbringer laughed and lifted his hand, a ball of a strange colour forming around his fingers. @I think I am here. =========================== Outside the Voidbringer spread out. the crystal was starting to glow in an eerie violett light. The Voidbringer, a woman, knelt down and placed it on the ground, where it pulsed softly, an aura of sickening violett something forming around it. @Wyndlerunner @Eluvianii @Dr. Dapper @Emperor Stick @BookishOcelot @AonEne
  17. @kenod ================================== Lena shrugged. "He's concious. Just as his wife. Can't have her die, or he'll stop doing what we want him to do." She smiled at Max coldly. "It's still not attacking the building. You'd better hurry, or your freak here won't take another breath." Looking up she saw the storm approaching. It would be here soon. Whatever. It was just a storm after all. She'd never understood why everybody made such a huge tamtam around a strom, that came by regularly. ============================= Zokora heard a noise and checked her device. For a moment, she stared. Then she started giving orders, her voice quiet, intense. The ghosts were gone, now that she focused, that she had something to do. She should have suspected, should have guessed something was wrong, as soon as it grew quiet around Althea, but she hadn't questioned it at all.
  18. "Water. Food." Sagitta replied and then shook her head. "I apologize. My name is Sagitta -" His accent sounded strange, maybe it was safer to keep it at that. "Sagitta. I was captured by the nomads, spent the last days, weeks as their prisoner. Please, where am I?"
  19. The Phoenix? What do you mean, the phoenix? Althea asked and then tried to grasp who had arrived as well. Don't tell me, that Phoenix. She could feel the air as well, smiled when she smelled the upcoming storm in the air. The storm. ============ Lena set the woman down, when they were outside and turned to Tels. "And what do you want to do now? Do you want to eat a pancake?" @Truthless of Shinovar
  20. Lena stood up, and lifted Althea. She saw no real sense in carrying the wife out as well, but if the Phoenix wanted to eat her, maybe she could poison her and then see if that poison affected the Phoenix as well. That could make for a nice achievement. The first one to poison the Phoenix. The woman was surprisingly lightweight, and Lena didn’t care if her head hit a wall now and then, instead she simply ignored her groans and carried her after Alask. Althea hesitantly opened her eyes and looked around. Shades. Dark greys and lighter greys. She tried to listen to the steps, two, maybe three persons. Max was silent, not replying to her questions and that meant it was bad, so bad that he wanted to keep her in the dark. Or he was in so bad shape, that he couldn’t talk to her anymore. Darkness. It reminded her of endless nights, spent alone under a blanket, freezing, pulling her legs up in an attempt to stay warm. Darkness. Endless days spent alone while she was learning, training, while she tried to understand how the soulcaster worked, how she could change things. Now and then the door would open, some food, someone explained it again, and then she was back to training and training and training. Crystals. Soulcasting crystals and then back to laboratories learn and study again, train until she was good enough to take over project on her own. She was loosing her eyesight and she knew it, but here, in the dim light it barely mattered. Her eyes were so fragile, the glasses needed to be stronger and stronger with every passing month. The dim light helped preserve what was left, protect her nerves, but still, slowly she was turning blind. Her hand reached out for her pocket and she felt around until her fingers touched button. Zokora. She could help, locate them, get them out, bring her some spheres. Coughing she pressed the button, activated an emergency signal to her assistant. It was hard to breathe, something had been damaged, inhaling and exhaling hurt, hurt so much she wished she could stop breathing altogether. For a while she considered to reach out for Max again, ask him what was going on, but then she stayed quiet. He would tell her, if she needed to know. =========================== Mike continued to climb down. Enemy. He had to find the enemy. Had to destroy him. The sky belonged to her and she wouldn't accept any intruders. She was strong, she would survive. And he would destroy her enemies.
