  1. Jessy readied herself to follow Cheh to wherever they needed to go. She made sure to grab a weapon from a dead guard.
  2. Mike paused for a moment, that scar. He wanted to ask what had happened, but Wes was still calling him Sir, although Mike wasn’t in charge, or maybe he was in charge, but not officially. He wished Wes would stop building that barrier, would stop with these formalities. Mike had asked him, had almost begged him to use his name, that Wes insisted on the title, was a sign easy to be interpreted. “If you ever need some help, tell me.” He offered and his hands touched his spikes. Smiling he looked up at Seom, who had returned with some food. “I suppose we could try to search Lusk and his troops?” He suggested and took out his phone. Sir, any new orders for us? - Mike @I think I am here. @Ark's Boyfriend ================== “Sure. Do you have some family in the city? We could drop by, see if they made it out safely on our way back.” Lena reached into her bag for a pancake and found it empty. Searching around she realized she had run out of food. No pancakes, no sandwiches, no tacos, not even a cereal bar. Nothing. That was bad. She was standing outside in a storm without anything to eat. “We need to stop at a supermarket. I’ve run out of food.” She informed him and looked around for a sign indicating a store was close by.
  3. Mart followed Eve over, hesitated and then offered the Haunt his one-armed bear. “You can talk to Bear when you’re alone. He always listens.” He held on to Eve’s arm and smiled at her. “And she wants to be your friend as well.”
  4. Sagitta faced them, almost surprised by the question. She looked at him, only for a heartbeat, for another heartbeat and realized, that while she could have entertained them hours with information about their military and weapons, she had no idea about how to reply to that. "I can soften sword-blows." She said finally, thought about what else she did. "And the impact of the armor on my joints, meaning I can jump down a few feet." That was it. She doubted it was everything her instinct could do, but it was, what she knew about it. She'd focused on what she needed, she was a soldier, not a scientist.
  5. Would it theoretically be possible to introduce a new character that hadn't existed before, and maybe keep that character afterwards? In that case it would be an easy way to introduce children without the need of a 20 year timeskip.
  6. What changes are possible? I'm a bit at a loss. Do you mean investiture or cd?
  7. Mike smiled at him and grinned slightly. “At least one of us has a useful power. I wish I could eat as much chocolate as I want and simply store it away.” He picked up a shirt and held it up. “It could fit you. And it isn’t a rag like the one you wear.” The explosion that had almost killed Wes had left his cloths in bad shape. “And maybe some pants as well?” @Ark's Boyfriend ============================= Lena pulled her hand back and shifted her weight. “So, what will we do now? The Phoenix is here, you were successful. Though I doubt they will simply let us go like that.” ====================== Althea felt Max tense behind her and she moved a bit back, until her body touched his. Comfortingly she continued to hold his hand, wished she could help him, take this weight of his shoulders. She couldn’t, but she could be here for him anyway. @I think I am here.
  8. Mart looked up from Eve’s shoulder again, looked at the Haunt. “You say I’m naïve.” He stated and then shook his head. “But it’s you who is naïve. You think the world will fall to their knees, because you are here, and you think you are the only one, to be alone. But you aren’t. I am alone, and my mum is alone. I think even Eve is alone. We all are. But I don’t hurt someone, only to be recognized. You tried to help people. Now you hurt them.” His voice started to shake. “You wanted to kill me, you hurt my mum. You lost yourself, forgot who you were. And that is worse than being alone.”
  9. „I didn’t“ Jessy interjected and shook her head. “This is not about deeds. We are here, because he wants to study us. We speak the same language, but we belong to different worlds. We use words, the others can’t understand, we try to put each other into our frames, but we fail. Because we don’t belong to the same world. We might use the same language, which is strange on its own, but we don’t have the same context.” She looked at John, her eyes cold and hard. “This is some sort of experiment. To see how we can interact. Maybe to see if he can exploit our abilities.”
  10. The guard grabbed her arm and led her into the testing room. Sagitta grimaced but didn’t resist. She had agreed. She had agreed to it. She needed to go home. She was strong, she could do this. The room with it’s lights, it scared her. She was always in control, it was her life and she decided what to do. When she had a sword, then she was in control, it depended on her skills to survive. But she had no idea how to survive here.
  11. I like the idea a lot, but I have some concerns regarding the spying and the small number of characters. I personally would prefer if it happened in a thread and not in pms. And I fear that this "only a few will be involved" leads to a situation where everybody wants to be a part of it and belong to that "exclusive" circle. I'm not entirely sure how to rp this, but maybe it would be easiest if it simply happened in a thread and whoever wants to, can join. And if it means almost everybody has a character there, then that just happened. Although it's hard for non-DA characters to spy on anything you do, without dying or getting spiked in the process. Which also might exclude some players. Or you handle it a sole DA plot, for DA characters. I don't know, just my thoughts, maybe I'm worrying too much
  12. Attayl remained sitting for a moment, then she got up. “We should head downstairs. Maybe Nerin is in trouble. Visitor’s weren’t exactly a good sign lately.” She walked downstairs and froze, still standing on the steps once she saw the visitor. Zekiel. He was young, but he was like a symbol for everything that kept her chained to the gang, to their rules and their leaders. She took another step, but remained standing on the last step, held on to the handrail. “Zeke. Why are you here?” The boy narrowed his eyes at her. “Because you will help me find a new gang. The Farriers are weak, their Lenny-guy was defeated and some others as well. You will convince the Fingers to take me in. They won’t say no to you, you have the reputation to be willing enough, despite that ugly scar.” Speechless she stared at him, at his young cruel face. How easily he assumed, that she would do what he wanted her to do, how she was tempted to do so. Instead she only stood, her eyes flickered to Nerin. Lance, not Lenny. That explained Nerin’s face, how she stood there. Nerin and Lance. “Come on.” Zeke stood up, emptied his mug and motioned for her to follow him out of the room. “You have no business here.” Attayl only stared, moved slightly away from him. She wanted to leave, to go. She didn’t want to head back, she wanted to talk to Brillin, ask him about his journey. She wanted to help Nerin, even if it meant to help Lance. She wanted to escape. @I think I am here. @ZincAboutIt
  13. Althea felt sick when she heard Max thoughts. He was in control. She knew what it meant, how it felt to be a visitor in your own body, helpless. The thought alone was enough to make her breath pick up and she focused on the storm again. It wasn't her, it was the Phoenix. It was a creature. Any yet she knew, that it was more, that it was intelligent. That it could feel. Just make her fly away. If you can. She asked Max quietly, although he'd probably already given orders. Uncomfortably she looked at the bird tumbling towards the ground. She knew it was neccessary, a price to be paid. But the thought to force that on anybody else was enough to make her hands shaking. It was a creature an abomination, but it was too close to what Septhis had done, too close to Oasis. We are all broken messes. Max was right, they were both broken messes. Sometimes she wondered how she even managed to get through a single, normal day. And now she was here and felt sorry for a bird. For a huge flaming bird, setting the city aflame, killing those she needed to protect. Althea swallowed, concentrated on the storm, on its power, on anything else but her fingers that started to shake slightly again, on the memories waited for her. She was exhausted, despite the stormlight, despite the power of the storm she was exhausted. This day had been too long. Go on, she would go on and once this was over, they could finally go home. ========================= Mike paused. "You're right." He said astonished and sat down, smiled at Wes. "Good that you're here." For a moment he simply looked at his hands, then he shrugged. "So, if there is nothing we can do and as PlasmaCore is done for, we could go and search for something to eat? I'm hungry. Maybe we can join some of our troops in the hideouts?" @Ark's Boyfriend ============================= Only when they were angry. Well, they weren't angry now, were they? Green eyes, calm voice. "Withering, to me it looked like burning, but if it's called something else." Lena shrugged and reached out for him, attempted to touch his arm. ============================= Zokora was glad she was standing a bit shielded of the storm, at the entrance to the tunnel, waited for Baker Pi to lead the way. She and the storm, it was difficult. Sometimes she liked it, sometimes she feared it. Better not try it out. She had seen too many ghosts already. @AonEne
  14. "Is Wes alright?" Mike asked and closed his eyes for a moment, pushed wolf's concern away. "Wolf is worried about him." He forced himself to focus, despite the pressure of emotions, of snake wanting a fly, of squip wishing for the ocean, of porcupine urging to run away altogether. "We need a plan, need to find our troops and reorganize. There has to be a way we can help."
  15. "Yes. Although I doubt it will leave now." Lena slung her bag over her shoulder. She tilted her head to the side, when she saw him looking at her curiously. "You are strange, but I like you. Both of you." She told him bluntly and leaned against a house, looked at his strange form. It was the first time, she saw both of them, talked to both of them at the same time, the calm green eyes floating in the strange head. "Do you always burn someone, or only when you're angry?" She asked him curiously, ignored the storm around them. ============================== Wolf stepped into the build and turned around, waited for Seom. Mike screamed at the darkness around him. Squid left his hand, pulled away from him with the others. It was his body. And he was tired of loosing control, of always loosing control. It was his. Only his. Mike looked at them all, at squid, porcupine, salmon, fox, squirrel, snake and at the place where wolf should be. It was his body. He was supposed to be in control, to do something more than to sit around and to surrender control to someone else. His eyes fell on the bloody skin of his arm, where he had cut off the bloodflame tattoo. Bella. He had handed control of his life to Bella, to the Ghostbloods, to everbody else, but he had never, never stood up and claimed what was his. And Mike stood up. He grabbed wolf and pushed him down, far down, set him next to the others and then he turned around and left. They were his and he would call them, when he needed them. Mike opened his eyes and looked at Seom, reached out for her hand. "I'm sorry. It's hard to keep them in check." They were still there, fighting him, trying to assume control. but for now, his body was his. @Ark's Boyfriend
  16. Shana barely evaded another bolt, although it scorched her leg, when she jumped aside. She whirled around and dove for one of the enemies, there were four of them left, tried to move his body between her and the others, her knife aiming for his stomach. She missed him gloriously, fell on the ground and only instinct had her turn her fall into a roll into cover. A moment to breathe, then she jumped on the car and threw the strap of her bag over the head of a Voidbringer. Open the door, throw the bag inside, slam it close. the trapped woman screamed in rage, but Shana already took of again, screamed when another bolt scorched her arm. Still she didn't stop moving. She had to move, if she stopped she was dead. Her leg were growing tired and she looked around, tried to find something else she could use against them. She was running out of time.
  17. Sagitta woke with a start and jolted upright, panting. The voice, she couldn't place it, the bed the room. It took her a moment to grasp where she was, what she had missed. The base, she was in the base and she had agreed to do some of his tests. Because she needed food. She stood up, pulled on some shoes and noted the guard with the sword. Unarmed, but as she had no weapon, he probably wouldn't need a sword at all. Sagitta judged they way he stood, how he held himself and a slight smile touched her lips. He would need that sword. And probably she still stood a chance against him. "I'm ready." She told Price and felt her heart beat faster. It felt bad, wrong. The whole situation was wrong.
  18. Mart yelped in fear at the sudden shift of the dust and the tone of the voice. He cuddled against Eve, his knuckles on his hand clinging to the bear turning white. He wanted a story, but not that kind of story. He wanted a nice story, like his mum told him, not a scary voice story. The kids at school told such stories, scared him on purpose. Eve had told him, that there was no need to be afraid, but he had hurt mum and he was scary. Mart only stared at him, didn't reply to the question.
  19. Shana smiled at the warmth in his voice, then turned back to the Voidbringers. "I'd love to spar with you again." She replied slightly absently minded, observed their movements. They had turned, had observed her changing position. Of course they had. She'd hoped for some kind of plan, any idea for some strategy, but she wouldn't tell him that. It was too sweet that he'd focused on her fear instead. Her fingers brushed over Ben's cheek and then she tightened her grip on the knife. Fight for them. She grinned at Rob and started to run, shouted at the Voidbringers: "I am here! Catch me if you can!" Not even a heartbeat later a bolt scorched the ground behind her. She was a fast runner, but without stormlight, they were faster. Run. She shouted at herself. Evade, throw something at them. Try to separate them. Lead them away from Ben and Rob.
  20. "Nobody knows what will happen." He told the Haunt completely believing his own words. "So you don't know if I'll stop liking you one day." Mart simled at him widely. "You said your old. Tell me a story." He looked up to Eve. "My mum always tells stories. About a brave sorceress fighting evil demons." Back to the Haunt he added. "But your story would be true, please?"
  21. Wolf blinked at her and then took a step towards one of the buildings, waited for Seom and Wes to follow.
  22. Althea gently closed her fingers around Max, when she felt him use her shoulder to stabilize himself and gently wrapped her thoughts around him. If this went wrong, she would protect him, she would protect all of them. Carefully she added Eiran and Tels to her awareness. It didn’t matter what they thought of her, of her guild. She wouldn’ let the Phoenix kill them. Not if there was another way. And as an Elsecaller, there was another way. The Phoenix. If this went wrong, she could get them out of its way and then she could try to dispose of the bird her way. It had left the spiritual realm before, but if she managed to move it away, far enough, that it lost interest. It was worth a try. A backup. She inhaled again, stored more Investiture in her bracelet and then looked over the city, enjoyed the storm around them. She liked the storm, wished she was alone, wished she was somewhere where it didn’t matter, if she tilted her head back and laughed, if she elsecalled herself high up into its grip, let herself fall down and down only to elsecall up again. But she was needed here. Max needed her. The guild needed her. The city needed her. She had to do something about the situation, anything that might help. And so she only enjoyed the rain on her skin and the wind tearing on her soaked cloths. The storm was powerful, free and somewhere inside she laughed in joy turned around her axis and danced with the wind, gave in to the storm running through her veins, to the stormlight urging her to run, to use it. Outwardly, she calmly exhaled, her face a neutral, concentrated mask. ====================== Lena cursed when the storm hit and packed her poisons away. Stupid storm, she had hoped to finish this, but as her bait was gone, she would have to think about another possibility to try it out. Well, not as long as that storm was here. She got to her feet and look at Alask. He had changed, the storm had changed him. This storm. It was like a thing of a fairy-tale come alive. In the streets people had spoken about it reverently, had discussed hiding, while those with magic would be strong, but the idea behind that plan eluded her. If someone wanted to kill you, they would do it. It was only a strom after all. Her eyes met the soldiers standing around them, and she looked to Alask, asked him with a gesture if he had a plan. If he hadn’t she could always poison them all. @I think I am here.
  23. Attayl considered his words. Koloss spikes. He was right. Changing into a Koloss was like a new ability and she had felt only two metals from Lance. So what if he only had two? What if there was a way to add to one’s abilities, to choose a metal. “So you mean, that maybe he found something like a Koloss spike? A spike granting him a second metal?” She tried to wrap her head around it and sat down on the floor next to the bed. For a while she was silent, thought about it again. “I mean why not? I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t work. If you can use metal to influence emotions, if you can use a spike to turn someone into a Koloss, then why not use a spike to add another metal to the ones you can use.” But there had to be something else, a secret. If it were easy, then everybody would walk around with these spikes. “Maybe you have to inscribe them with some ancient symbols and the language was lost over the centuries. It would explain the Mistborn of ancient times. They all started with one metal, as we have today, but they knew how to enhance their abilities.”
  24. He sat down, took the beer and tried to appear strong and self-confident. "I'm looking for Attayl. I've got some important information for her." For a moment he was silent, then couldn't stop himself. "The Farriers have been beaten. One of their higher up, Leon, Larry? No Lenny, I think it was Lenny, even knocked out." Excitedly he looked at her. "Attayl has to help me find a new gang, and then we can wipe the Farriers off our place. They want to take over the canal, tonight and if I lead another gang there, my place with them is secured."
  25. Shana ran over to Ben and Rob and knelt down next to them. Ben seemed to be alright, Rob was hurt. She ripped of another piece of her dress and offered it to him as an improvised bandange. He had protected her, had infused her cloths, when he had needed the stormlight for himself. "Thank you." She whispered, suddenly on the the verge to crying, because he was here, because he cared, because everything was terrible and Ben was still unconcious and she had no idea what to do against these things, not without any stormlight to rip them apart. "You saved my life." Almost hastily she continued, tried to change the topic, tried to focus on something else. "Do you have an idea what we can do about them? Without stormlight, I -" She shook her head and then just spread her hands in defeat. "I've never been that afraid before." @I think I am here.
