  1. Hey, got busy this afternoon and forgot the game was started so hello there. My initial gut reaction to Archer’s post was that it felt elimmy, but that’s eased up as I kept reading. Here’s my hot take, but I think it’s totally fine to not share your vote in the thread. Am I being pushed this way subconsciously because I don’t like broad decisions about what villagers have to or have to not do? Maybe, idk, but I think there is merit to voting secretly in contrary to your public vote or not mentioning who you are going to vote for in the thread. Especially to reaction test or push on someone a bit more even while actually voting for a higher suspect.
  2. But I was planning on dying. It’s not my fault the village failed to execute me that’s their issue.
  3. This game is simple enough, I’ll join up for fun! Not sure how much serious analysis I’ll get in, but we’ll see. Malila is a tenth dahn woman who was insanely lucky enough to get in to this competition.
  4. I saw that and Aman mentioned it. I think it’s hilarious. that’s what happened iirc two years ago in the AG.
  5. Yeah I started kinda anon, but like many actual players, completely stopped trying after a bit. The parts talking about LG74 were way too hard to try to talk about anonymously.
  6. When I found out that was you, I imagined that CR was killing you. I can’t imagine you actually writing like that ever. Kas, phenomenal writeup as always! That was a tribute well done and I’m appreciative of Maill and Marll’s cameos. For anyone wondering, I’m Whoami in the dead doc making random comments here and there. This was quite an entertaining game to spec (and probably the most actively I’ve actually spectated before).
  7. @Illwei O7 Best of luck. I gift you my penchant for risky gambits (you don’t need anymore, but we saw how it worked when we combined our risk preferences) and the teeth of a silverpike.
  8. Probably because I was honest in it. I just read over it and the only lie in it is that I included myself in a "we" referring to villagers in the last cycle. Everything else is true. After the first hammer, I even reminded you of Illwei being evil. So I guess the reason you read it as honest is because it was.
  9. I'll admit that I was kinda surprised that it worked on you. I still mostly suspected you to self-protect and just tell Fifth you were protecting him. So when you actually did, I was shocked, pleasantly, but still shocked. You broke down the gambit above pretty well, that's exactly how we figured it.
  10. Wow, thanks @Kasimir for this thrill of a game! Had a blast returning for this! Congratulations to my fellow Spiked and thanks for putting up with the insanity I caused. I know some of these ploys were well outside your typical comfort zone, and I appreciate the trust. Fifth, Illwei, and I should never be on an elim team I think is the message here. Village, you also played really well and really had caught many of us, we just played off each other so much that it kept an exe from solidifying on any one of us. We also conveniently killed Striker, Quinn, and Mat who all suspected me quite a bit at various points. @Gears and @Quintessential, it was a blast getting to know you and I thank you for the fun PMs, both game related and non-game related discussion. It was good to really interact with some of the newer players and make some new friends and these two PMs ended up being some of my top PMs ever. @_Stick_ , Always a pleasure, and I thank you for your ever-abiding trust. I kinda wished I had been village with you because working with you has been so much fun ever since our Mistborn team days. But alas, this was not that time. @Elandera , sorry… I’m not quite sure what it was that pocketed you though. I really didn’t put a lot of effort into that one. But again, I appreciated the trust when it counted. @Burnt Spaghetti, Twineyes forever, you even got to join us with a spike! Your messages were fantastic and I loved reading them, much better than mine this game. @Tani, welcome to the games, you had such a different style and I think it added a lot. That comment I made was always true. @Biplet, good instincts. I’m glad we killed you when we did. Thanks for the O7 I used it a lot. @Matrim's Dice , It was fun to go head to head. Also had some great instincts (aside from Illwei) and I’m sorry we killed you. Thoughts: Claiming: I think Kas covered my thoughts on Smoking and how valuable it can be. See how we used Illwei and our Seekers for any evidence you need that Villagers can and should smoke themselves if not others. Gambits/Distancing: More on PMs: I rarely lied about my opinions on things in this game. Most of what I did was my real playstyle. I lie about a select few things, my role being foremost, but the rest is legit. I mentioned this in our doc, but this is likely my last game, if not ever, then at least for a long time. I no longer can afford the time needed for these even on an easy semester. I only know how to go all in on a game and can’t convince myself to go partly in and keep my RL how it needs to be. I enjoyed this so much and it was a great welcome back as well as a farewell. This just isn’t something I can spend as much time as I’d like to on anymore. I’ll still be around the community, especially the discord, just don’t expect me in any games. Thanks for being so awesome, everyone! O7
  11. Marll refused. Joe was a curious man for sure, but he had no reason to kill the duck wrangler. He rolled his dice again. Ones. Again. He had been rolling only ones all day, the Deepness’s own luck that was. Ones lost in every game Marll played these days. The dice were telling him something, weren’t they? He had lost. That’s what it was. “A man wanted to see the world. He had seen slums and villages, but he wanted to see what the red sun sees. Kredik Shaw’s spires offered a view, but he had almost been killed trying to climb those. Other keeps were no less guarded. The man decided he’d have to leave the city to see what the sun saw. “He walked day after day after day, surviving on his meager supplies, until one day, he ran out. Faced with a difficult choice he decided to snatch some food from a passing caravan. Terrispeople had never done him wrong, but he needed to see the view the sun saw. They would be fine without a bit of bread. “The bread lasted him till the next village. He begged for supplies, but was given nothing. As he went to sleep in an alley, hungry and dirty, he saw another beggar with a single clip. The man’s hunger took over and he strangled the man for the clip. He needed to see the view the sun saw. “The man made it to an ashmount and began his ascent. Step after step he climbed. Trudging up the mount, starving for the view the sun saw and for food, he kept on. One foot after the other, forward little by little. He had to see what the sun saw. “The man made it to the top of the ashmount and what did he see? “Nothing. The height availed him nothing when the view was obscured by plumes of ash. Strength exhausted, the man collapsed at the rim of the mount.” Muttering to himself, Marll said, “I’m the man. Lord Ruler, but I am. Ever wanting more, making sacrifices that weren’t mine to make. Now I’ll collapse at the top.” Marll finished the last pair of shoes he’d make for the people of Fallion’s Tears. He’d loved this town, hoped it’d continue for the rest of his life, but he should have known that was impossible with him there. Marll, the killer. The Tineye who murdered because he couldn’t stop. Because there was always more to gain, more to see. Marll hated killing, but he now made the final pair of shoes Fallion’s Tears would see because there’d be no feet left living to be shoed once he was done. Do it, the voice whispered. Oh, no, Lord Ruler, please. Kill. Marll sobbed as he collapsed at his workbench. Fallion’s Tears had the same curse as the fabled Tyrian Falls, but he never imagined he’d be a part of that curse.
