  1. Wow. I also grew up with ASL, as both of my parents are deaf. I'm fluent in both ASL and English, and have been studying german throughout middle school and high school. I've just begun learning French as well. In elementary school, I learned the basic phrases, numbers, and colors in Spanish. I plan to learn others, including Russian, Hebrew, and and African one.
  2. Oh yes. I forgot that he was up. I'll do him before Altermind. Let's talk in a pm.
  3. Oh, Wilson, tsk tsk. "Yes, it is true," Milton, or as he had taken upon himself to be called, Altermind, said. "I am a Baron. Lucky for you, when I take over, the intelligent among you will be allowed to live. In Thoughttown, you will be able to serve me." He cast an illusion of a bomb on the side of the room exploding. Laughing as the others jumped at the blast, he cast an illusion while they had been distracted. He was now five feet away from where his illusion stood. If anyone tried to take him down, they would hit nothing but air. And, even if they managed to find him, Altermind had a fancy new jacket he had found in one of the rooms. It had been made by Reckoners and would save him from two hits at night or even a single lynch in the day. He would be unstoppable. "Why, Kelsey, you've been too quiet in your corner of the hall over there. Come here and join us. No? Well then, enjoy being the first death of my new Reign. You could've been a lieutenant, but you refuse to take my tests. Your punishment is death." Altermind created a hallucination of pain in the girl's stomach. She cried out and doubled over in pain. Altermind smirked. "Anyone else want to defy me?"
  4. Oh, Kobold, if only you knew. this is hilarious! My apologies. If you ever get the chance to jump back in, feel free, we left it open for you. Ahh, you assume he would eat one. In fact, he will be way too suspicious and won't even touch one and will try to discourage the others from eating one too. Mail-mi, since you brought up the point of people adopting Destructors or Connell Epics, I thought I'd ask if you wanted to take one, since you brought it up. Sorry, I've been busy today guys, I've only just gotten home and it's almost time for me to go to bed. Tomorrow I should be able to catch up on Edgerunner and maybe Altermind. Joe, do you want Gordon to go next or Max? I think Gordon could go.
  5. Hahah I actually wouldn't mind that. He doesn't really have any good quotes that I can think of either. If you want to do another of my characters, Max or an Epic, if you can find a quote easier, go ahead and do that. I mainly just want something Cool to put in my sig.
  6. I'm not in a hurry to get it, so it's okay.
  7. Well, as of now, I have full control over Connell, WA, so I say he exists. I'll see if anyone wants to take someone specific first, and then I'll give you one if needed, unless you want to claim one now.
  8. I think he'd have a difficult time of that. Frequency's not an easy one to kill. Hmm. I originally wanted to keep control of them, but you're right, it is a lot. I think I'll do it a la Seonid and separate their takeover into two or three posts. If you or anyone is willing, a couple of the Connell Epics could be taken. Just realize that they are going to die. If anyone wants to RP as a Destructor, I may be willing to let You borrow one for this part of the RP, and if I like what you do, you may get permanent control of them in Astoria. Jag is staying mine though. I hope you're serious, because Colonel Conner "Kernel" O'Connell of Connell is now a real thing. He and Architect will work well together. Those Four Epics will be Connell's ruling body. Maodun will be the leader and the other three under him.
  9. Well, if Voidus hadn't claimed you, I'd be open to it, but I'm actually more interested in Mages. Speaking of, I've been meaning to ask, Seonid, how exactly does II-b Magic work? In your example with that battle Mage sticking his hand in the dirt and severing the bonds to create a fireball, how does he do that? Is it just willpower? Did any of those three characters have magic in this story?
  10. Kernel? More like Popcorn.
  11. I don't know that she'd fit in anywhere yet, but I might be wrong. I see. Okay, I plan to have some cool scenes with Smasher's force fields and his repelling of that force.
  12. Thanks! I think I'll take Maodun, Architect, and Hundred-Eyes for Connell, Washington.
  13. Well, he and Altermind would be quite similar then. Haha, I just thought of that, but Frequency is a performer and would want to make sure that all the attention (and bullets) were on him.
  14. Which he would totally do, if there weren't pandas and pigs attacking the city. He'll wait for a suitably dramatic moment for his grand proclamation. If he work with Quicksilver, it'll just be probably helping without joining. Freq will assist the situation once he realizes that the pandas are worse than humans. After the battle is over, he'll resume his plans of taking over.
  15. Are Paladin, Ranger, and Guardian from this world?
  16. I want mid-to-high level Epics without a PI, but they can have something like Edgerunner's type of healing. Something that the Destructors could still defeat with ease, but strong enough that they put up a good fight. That could be interesting. Edgerunner would probably prefer Scribbler's company to just about all of Vondra's other Epics. Okay, in that case, what do you think of Frequency helping Quicksilver out? That's it. Okay, she can do that then. Her skills are more of assassination ones though, so she won't be a huge force on the battlefield.
  17. Kobold, where would Edgerunner report to? Voidus, would it work if I had her report to where Scribbler is and they could fight together?
  18. Hmm, how insistent would Panda be that Freq would have to become a panda too? Are we going to get a bio for him soon? What exactly would Quicksilver do? Which side would he fight? I'm trying to decide if Frequency would join him, the Pandas, or lay low. ...Revolution just became my favorite Epic. Can we make this canon? After she starts to flirt with Altermind's guard guy, whose name I forgot. I do too. He's a fun character. I'll have an Edgerunner post up tonight probably. I'm writing the Destructors' first post and I'm having them take over a city. Do you guys have any ideas for a couple of Epics who are powerful enough to control a city of 5,000 and decide to resist the four Epics, but who aren't High Epics?
  19. Um, what rhymes with Radiant Squire?
  20. What do you think of this idea?
  21. I think that it's due to the many magic abilities Hoid has picked up across the years and planets. We know he has feruchemy, he has a bead of lerasium, and probably other types. I would imagine that the combined healing factors of his abilities allow him to heal eve from things that technically kill him. For example, Titan, if you classify being beheaded and then being healed by gold as "resurrection" then I agree. I wouldn't call it resurrection per se though. The Returned are the only true resurrected beings we've seen in my opinion. I would count gold compounding just as really quick healing, even if the body technically died for a second in the middle.
  22. I proposed that we switch the rooms from what Joe has So that it is like this: Barracks: Mailliw, The Only Joe, Wilson. Armoury: Gamma fiend, Theorymaker, Araris. That way it's different from last night's plan. Stanley, I voted for you before solely to call you out, but now I think you're a prime target for a Baron to be hiding. Semi-inactivity would be perfect for a Baron. As of now, you haven't garnered much suspicion and have been active enough not to get lynched and also inactive enough to be ignored and forgotten. I do think we have one of the experienced, vocal players as the third Baron, but for now, it's easier if we can isolate them.
  23. I'm going to mimic Kobold here and say that it's like Lightwards's. As long as any small bit of him is left, he can heal. Technically, he can still be killed, it's just very hard. Neither did I...
  24. As Edgerunner and Glamour neared HQ, they heard Arsenal's gruff voice over the radios, "Hostile forces reported on the city outskirts. Hostiles reported to possess an ursine appearance. Reported to be employing the strategic use of burning arrows; homes and businesses in northern sector aflame. All available personnel, report to the nearest command station. Epics move to the front line at city borders. Repeat: This is not a drill. The Dalles is under attack." Ursine? That meant bears, right? They were being attacked by bears? Edgerunner was confused. It had to be some type of Epic. Bears didn't assault cities. She decided to meet Arsenal at HQ before reporting to the front lines. Soldiers scrambled about like madmen, some going into HQ, some leaving. Sirens blared throughout the city and for once, Edgerunner was jealous of Glamour's headphones. They sure would be nice to drown out the noise. She heard faint sounds of a film's battle score coming from the headset. She rolled her eyes and went into the courtyard. She arrived right as Daniel created a large helicopter. Beginning with sleek lines in the air, they solidified into the real deal. A sleek helicopter with a machine gun, it even had The Dalles crest on the side. As Edgerunner was about to approach Arsenal, he spoke into the radio again, "A reminder from Daniel Dewhickey. Being invaded by weaponized pandas is not an excuse for forgetting established protocols. Nor is it an excuse for losing all sense of order and sanity. Thank you." Edgerunner couldn't decide whether to smile or scowl. Arsenal had a gruff, direct way of dealing with things that she enjoyed, but, sparks, he was strict. He confiscated anything that had a slight modicum of fun. She and Glamour pushed past soldiers, heading straight for Daniel. He saw them and addressed them first. "I suppose you're wondering what's going on," he said in his gruff voice. "I want to know what you learned at Command Post Tango. You brief me and I'll brief you." Direct. Brief. Just like Arsenal. Edgerunner nodded curtly and informed him of the messenger with metal caps for hands. She relayed his message of Quicksilver's anger. "It was a message, he said. Everyone else in the building was slaughtered," she said, her voice wavering slightly. She controlled it and continued, "Now, what's this about pandas?" Daniel watched her as she shared her message, his thick, angry eyebrows wrinkling in distaste for Quicksilver. Glamour had nothing to add and just looked around at the panicked soldiers as she spoke. Frequency had found his old apartment in a more rundown part of the Dalles. For the most part, the area was empty when he had arrived. Now it was permanently empty. The rundown environment didn't bother Frequency too much. It gave him his privacy. He did decide to force one of the women in the area to scrub his apartment clean before killing her and her daughter. He relaxed and listened to the radio frequencies in the area, enjoying a nice rest from attacking soldiers. Suddenly, a gravelly voice burst out on the radio, "Hostile forces reported on the city outskirts. Hostiles reported to possess an ursine appearance. Reported to be employing the strategic use of burning arrows; homes and businesses in northern sector aflame. All available personnel, report to the nearest command station. Epics move to the front line at city borders. Repeat: This is not a drill. The Dalles is under attack." Hmm, the Dalles was being assaulted by bears? Frequency smiled. He decided to take a look at this attack, when he heard a report of armed pandas. This new Epic certainly did have style. An army of pandas with guns would be sure to confuse any normal soldier. If Frequency wasn't here to reclaim the Deathless One's city, he'd be tempted to work with this Panda Man. Frequency headed to the roof of the building, ready to whistle any threats to pieces. Nothing happened. Everyone below was rushing to the northern part of the city, which was up in flames. Definitely a stylish Epic they were dealing with here. This Panda could be the key to reclaiming this city. Frequency lacked the numbers to assault the city completely. This Panda had many under his rule. Maybe they could work together.
  25. Panda, (I really want to call you Jain ) What do you think of Frequency joining up with the Panda? Also, I made clarifications to the Destructors. Jag does have retractable claws, but no accelerated healing. He does have impervious skin (a la Steelheart) and Metalmech has this feature of healing: when he is injured, Metalmech's injury is covered in metal, which then falls off and is healed.
