The Worst That Could Happen Foundation

I just don't see the value in an army vehicle specialist to watch elephants. If there is any kind of warping system, it isn't going to be anything like modern army vehicles. My vote is for a biologist/zoologist with elephant specialty, a chemist, and an engineer, if we're voting on who is going. No, I wouldn't advise sending the world's navies there either. Just alerting them so that they can be ready to mobilize on a moment's notice in case the warping device does exist. I'm not sure we need to inform the governments of every detail. Maybe the general idea and then make sure the UN has the idea too, but if we tell them all the details, why won't they go public or try to make heir own deals with the Chargers? I agree on this point. If we're going to send anything, it has to be a small group who appears harmless. Pistols may not do much, but it may just be enough to allow some to escape if something goes wrong. I agree with Joe's idea of how to approach them. -

I meant more of gathering and putting militaries on high alert and ready to deploy forces to Florida or wherever is needed ASAP. Looks like we're in agreement there then. If we have video and audio feeds attached to them, we won't need them to recite what they see. We can see it for ourselves. Why vehicle design? I'm more interested in having them figure out the whirring noise and how they are translating. Some kind of technology expert or engineer sounds good to me. An elephant specialty biologist/zoologist sounds good as well. A chemist could work, but I'm not sure why we'd need them. A doctor would also be a good idea. -

It also appears that we all agree that we need an attacking force ready as a backup. I also vote for the LRAM. Does everyone agree to getting the military's power ready as Smurf brought up? For the small team, I vote for two scientists(one with expertise in biology and the other in technology), two soldiers, a diplomat and our lead translator. Small weapons only, likely pistols hidden on the soldiers. Video and audio technology also hidden on them. -

So it looks like there are 5 votes for the plan I suggested: -

You brought about your own downfall. -
Jag had just gotten out of the Lightning when Bloody Mary appeared. True to her reputation, she was a sight from a horror movie. She popped out of a pool of blood and raised tendrils of that blood around her. She giggled as she spoke. "My my, what brings the Destructors to our town?” Jag stood next to his stopped truck and turned his mobile on to keep the others updated and listening to the conversation. "I see our reputation precedes us. Yours does as well. Mary, move aside. You can't beat all of us." She stood stubbornly, staring back at Jag. "Fire," he mumbled into the mobile to Metalmech. "The rest of you, surround her and open fire," he said. They did as he asked. Desolation sprung out of the Hummer and flew into the sky. If firing on her didn't work, he was supposed to use his wind powers to lift Mary up into the air and keep her off the ground. Sounds of war filled Jag's ears. Blood swirled and shots fired.

Does anything of note happen from the satellite feeds while we are listening to this? What did we see while Kyle translated? My immediate thought was that the whirring is a translator, but it wasn't mentioned when He Who Trumpets Before the Storm was speaking. I also think it is likely to be a warper. My proposed course of action to to send a small team, who look visibly unarmed, to peacefully and unagressively approach the Chargers to see what they can find out from there. We still have 16 hours so we aren't in a time crunch yet. But I do think the plan of utilizing our military resources should begin in the meantime as well. -

Yeah, attacking the elephants right off the bat wouldn't be the best unless we know that we have the upper hand. Which we don't know. At all. I think we're all basically agreed on the phone tapping procedure. -
Frequency watched Planeshift grow and stretch and shrink at rapid speeds as he took care of many animals. He could be a valuable fighter, why does he want to leave? The animals began wandering away from the three Epics and headed for the edge of the ring. It must be the Memori Epic. She somehow caused the animals to ignore them. The weaklings left the distracted animals completely alone instead of killing them where they stood. Memori must be the reason Planeshift won't keep fighting. She's the weak one. Planeshift grew extremely tall, and after throwing Current, he had Memori riding on him, and stepped over the wall of dirt. He grabbed hold of the dirt column Frequency stood on with Terra and Memori spoke. "All right. We killed plenty of the animals and left the rest of them trapped. You must be growing tired of these games too. Your earthbender can kill the rest of them with a wave of her hand." She said. Frequency took a moment to regain his composure. "You weaklings!" He shouted. "Get your unworthy selves out of Koschei's city," he sneered. He nodded at Terra and she collapsed the ring of dirt onto the remaining animals, killing them instantly. "If you don't follow my rules, you don't get the prize." Frequency clapped and sent the Epic on Planeshift's back stumbling. Unfortunately, they didn't fall off. Frequency whistled and tried to break Planeshift's leg. Nothing happened. Furious, he shattered Memori's nose instead, blood began gushing. "Leave. Now!" He shouted. "Or fight us, and die."

Dang it. It'd be a lot easier to deal with if that were the case. I'll vote for the cellphone tapping too to see what we can listen in on. I vote that's free getting a sense of what's going on, we send a message through the phones letting them know we are willing to talk with them. -
I just posted there. My question is a serious one. Kinda. Voidus, will MV have a different reaction to the break necklaces or should I have Emma go next? If MV will ask more questions or be angry, I'd rather you go first. Newan, I'm sorry, I totally forgot about Freq. I'll try to get a post up tomorrow.

Can I assume you weren't kidding when you said this was Chimera on a rampage? My ideas will depend on the answer to that. For those of you not in the Reckoners RPG, Chimera is an Epic character of mine who can combine multiple animals into one creation. -
Yeah, he's an Epic. He isn't the best pet owner. He's definitely a hypocrite. He twists his mind to think he loves them and he kinda does. More in a possessive way than a caring way, but a few, like Argo, he has come to respect after years of working side by side. He's definitely not a good guy though. It is an abusive relationship, if you really look at it, but he twists their minds in a way where they think they love him and he thinks he loves them. He was an animal lover before Calamity, so he forces himself to think that he's doing good. It is one big PM. If Voidus wants, he can add you in. Electro's and Arsenal's weaknesses were also shared, but I don't know Shiny Sparkles's, so I'm fine with you being added. If Kobold and Voidus don't mind, they can do that.

Just another day in the Reckoners RPG subforum.

I'd really like Timeport's and would be willing to trade up to two of mine for it. Send me an Alan.

I changed my name, though. Sorry. Edt: Alv, when will this be starting?

Hmm, a name? Milton, wait, no, I've already used that. Mail, no. Maill? Mill? Liam? Will? Maxill? Aili? Wow. I've run out of ideas. That's what happens when you play your 21st game. Willis will be signing up, I guess. Scratch that, that's too close to Wilson, even for me. I'll be Malcolm. (which is very ironic, considering my profile image.)

Ooh, I'd totally be in on that one. If you'd rather have a different weakness than Electro's, let me know.
-
I would hope so. Sure. Let me just double check what his new one is.
-
I'll throw in one of mine to that deal too. I can't remember which ones you know, Voidus, so just let me know which you want. Chi isn't likely to join any sort of team. Lightwards would have to try really hard to get him to join. It's a very interesting one and, without going into details, one that I'm quite curious to see in action.

My successor has not chosen to reveal their identity as of yet. Stay patient, little one. Hatred will find you sometime. -
Which he could actually do quite easily. I know somewhere back in the first couple Questions, we decided how the control would be worked out if something like that happened, but I can't remember what we decided. If Lightwards were to raise a dinosaur and then Chi were to use it to create a different creature, would it be removed from Lightwards' limit unless he killed it and raised that? They could actually be quite the team. O.o It's weird. He uses the animal, yes, but it doesn't affect the physical traits in any way of the new creature. He does cripple some of his creatures on occasion, yes. But, um he does actually care for them, if that makes it any better. It's a weird, twisted kind of love tainted by Calamity, but it is better than most Epics. Ooh, you're in for a treat. Lightwards' is one of my favorite weaknesses. Not because it's hilarious, because it's not. At all. But it's one of the most well thought out and intriguing ones. I'm also open for weakness bartering.

Quick Fix Game 6: A Time of Nightmares
Mailliw73 replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thanks, Hero! This was a fun game, even if it was quick! I think the biggest issue with this was just that the room killing at first severely limited us, but you fixed that, so I really liked the setup of the game. The one thing I didn't like was editing posts to update votes. It makes it a lot harder to keep track of. Thanks! And good job to the regular aspects, particularly Kas and Joe. And Aonar for that code.- 218 replies
