    Eve Tacet-Yin-Dove peered over her glass of water at the group speaking. They were a fair distance away, but from her perch in the corner, she still had a decent view and reasonably good hearing of their conversation. Candidly discussing assassination. Theorizing how to create a guild to overthrow and rival every guilds. Confidently boasting of their abilities. Openly. They certainly had little knowledge of the importance of tact, of doing things in the underground. Like TUBA in its golden days. She suppressed a smirk, recalling the time she'd tried to pick up an order of cookies at their bakery and wound up waiting hours to get through all the paperwork. They'd fallen. Everyone did. It was the work of Investiture. It led to one feeling overly confident, led to carelessness. It corrupted. She regarded them warily, curious as to where this would lead. She did not expect nor want them to notice her, the small young woman seated in the most shadowed (though, admittedly, not nearly as dark as she'd like) spot in the room, booted feet barely reaching long enough to brush the floor. Eve enjoyed watching those seeking to institute reform. It meant she'd be better prepared to deal with the fallout, the victims, of their actions. Someone had to.

    חנוכה שמח! (Yay! My assumption upon seeing the word 'yeshevish' proved correct!) It certainly has been an interesting year for chagim, but *shrugs* 'tis just another hurdle to climb over. We shall (hopefully) prevail.

    I don't know--this year it kind of didn't hit to me that חנוכה was soon until we were lighting candles tonight...time's both flown and dragged through these past few months.

    *realizes that her debating whether or not she should post confirms that she belongs here* Er, yep. Another socially awkward bookworm here. People are scary and my brain likes panicking. Mostly with people where there's an expectation for me to get along with them. People who I will never see or interact with again, I've found that I'm more likely to be unintentionally overly-cocky(?). Which is weird. Because normal I'm qualifying my every statement and planting in statements in case I need to backtrack. I relate with Jasnah and Steris. Jasnah is, of course, infinitely more intelligent and capable, but a girl can dream to be that cool. Steris takes in stride pretty much anything without sticking out so much. She's just...calm. Guess these weren't really necessarily similarities, rather aspirations. Oops. Maybe I can claim some combination of a much younger Jasnah-Steris?

    Eiran followed reservedly. Until he heard the explosion. Or, rather, saw it a moment before and then heard it. Followed by a vision of...shame at having lost something of import? He frowed and hurriedly stepped inside, taking in his surroundings quickly. His eyes flicked to the canisters. Were those...? Rusts. His eyes flicked up to Kingston. He seemed okay. Running up the steps frantically, but given the canisters...no wonder. His eyes flicked to the paper and the flames near it. Without really thinking, he picked it up. Eiran skimmed it briefly and frowned. A recipe? It was written in a very official looking font on a very official looking paper, though. This was it, then, the missing report. The thing they'd been looking for. The thing they'd nearly died looking for. The thing they might still die looking for. "Come on down, Kingston," he called up hurriedly, sparing another glance to the imminently exploding canisters. His head kept filling with images of destruction and death. His favorites. "I...I think we've got what we came for." He turned on his heel and walked out as quickly as possible, trusting that Kingston would have the sense to follow and not hang out near the flames. @Ookla the Paradoxical

    The ideal, unchangeable fact. Something unaffected by what people happen to believe at the moment. I can't tell you what specifically the truth is because that would be presuming that anything I know is truly the truth. The truth is the truth.

    My house is divided against itself. How can I get it to stand? How do I stop being scared of people? Why do we fear disappointing people and what can be done about it? Do you know any good methods to stop procrastinating?
