You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Silva replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
There become a lot more options when you include other languages. -
Freedom knocked on the door of the apartment. Number 54. Footsteps grew louder and then stopped. She looked up at the peephole to find an eye looking back at her. “Name?” a voice said. “Servitude,” she replied. “Entrance code?” “4.” The door opened. “Come on in, Freedom. Where’ve you been all day?” She stepped inside and shut it behind her. “Out and around.” “Pry’s not going to be home any time soon,” Juon told her. “Tino set dinner for three.” Officially, five of them were living in the small apartment. Her, Pry, Juon, Tino, and a friend of Light’s. But Pry was so busy with the government lately and Light’s friend hadn’t ever shown up, so it normally was just her, Juon, and Tino. Tino was Mejin’s little brother. Lots of her came out in him even though they barely were together. Juon was his...Freedom wasn’t quite sure what. Friend? Significant other? She’d never asked. Either way, they made decent company even if they were a little overprotective sometimes. Freedom followed Juon into the kitchen. Tino was already there. “Vegetable wraps for all,” he said. “I couldn’t find anything else when I went shopping.” “Fine by me,” Juon said. She sat down, Freedom followed. There was silence for a moment while they ate. Tino sniffed the air. “Freedom, were you near fire?” She didn’t respond. “You were.” No emotion was inflicted in his voice, but she knew what he was thinking. Fire was to him what blood was to her. Something not to bring up. “What happened?” “I met another Atium Ferring,” she said, avoiding answering the question directly. “Freedom. Were you in danger?” Juon asked. “I’m in danger by being in this city,” Freedom said. Juon rolled her eyes. “More danger than normal. You know what I mean.” “I had a run-in with the Waiter.” Tino’s eyes widened. “You’re kidding.” Juon also froze mid-bite. “Are you sure it was him?” “Yeah. Why?” she said. “Is he causing a mess somewhere else too?” “The Waiter is dead,” Juon said, dryly. “He attacked a church and hurt many innocents. It took the combined effort of two great guilds to stop his attack and finally kill him.” “Oh,” she said. It was a weird feeling. The man who had apparently used her as a human shield was dead. Would it be wrong to feel happy? Or should she be sad that a person was dead. She just shook her head. “I’m going to my room.” Tino gave her a slight nod. He understood her.

What even is our world? Concrete is weird. So is plastic. Also screens. And trees. And food. Food is REALLY strange. We put stuff in our bodies so we can keep moving, but why do we focus so much on it's presentation? At the end of the day it's just going to get broken down and digested. Planes. Why would someone say "humans should fly too!" Cars as well. "I want to sit in a metal box that moves." Like, what even? Who was the first person to come up with the concept of time travel? Did they even consider that people would still be disagreeing on how it could be used so many years later?

"But, you forget, earlier you mentioned that spike-ins required no permission. We all know that with enough Hemalurgic spikes a person becomes even more susceptible to control via Allomancy. Even without that, there still is risk of a Soother or Rioter tampering with their emotions, changing what the person thinks that want. Do you propose adding requirement that there be a Smoker around?" Pry said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "In addition, we can't for a moment pretend that this governing system will be free of corruption." She paused for a moment to let that sink in. "No government witness can ever be certified 'trustworthy' and the same goes with reps. "You know my opinion on Hemalurgy in general, but please understand, this cynicalness isn't a product of that. It's a product of trying to create a system that can't be taken advantage of easily. "I believe that if we wanted to be certain on all accounts we would need their signature, the signature of someone close to them, the signature of the Hemalurgist, and the signature of two not involved person as a witness that all of these signatures came of their own accord, one in the room, one watching from outside. And, if we wanted to be even more secure, it all would happen in an aluminum lined room under camera surveillance. Even all of this wouldn't be fool proof though. Someone still will find a loophole, a way to get around it all, and people will wind up in bad situations because of this. But then again, nothing is perfect. "Now, was there something else you wanted to say?" Pry asked.

As a member of the Left Handers Club, I'm going to pretend you didn't say that. Being progressive isn't always a bad thing. My handwriting's messy enough as it is. -

Welcome! Have a cookie courtesy of TUBA (don't worry I ran it through a metal detector, but feel free to test it again). Safehands: covered or uncovered? There's a correct answer to that question. We strive for it -

Kindness was the name of his weapon. There actually was a guy who named his gun Kindness in order to kill with kindness. It's pretty messed up and sick (negative definition, not positive).- 111800 replies

"Your laws don't specify 'with permission' for everyone else," Pry said. She really didn't like this Diagramist representative. "All they say is, and I quote, "Spike-outs may also happen to those signing a form produced by the government." What is to prevent mistakes from occurring in cases where the form is signed only due to duress?"

Aderet pursed her lips. She had followed the others to near the staircase. "More often than not the rat dies," she said. "Probably not the best comparison to make."

Sorry Gancho. Superiority comes in the form of spikeless cookies. But you can place an order if you'd like - TUBA's always willing to provide. See, Nobody is a good friend of mine. So close people sometimes confuse the two of us.

When you find yourself doodling the Cosmere symbol in the margins of your notes along with Vin's profile unintentionally. -
Before she had a chance to respond to the man's comment, someone who seemed to have an objective had entered. Aderet gave the man she'd bumped into a quick smile, more focused on how she presented herself to everyone in the room than on the doctor, Nitinyas. From what she'd caught they were heading to another world to collect samples? And it was unmapped? "Are there...native inhabitants?" she found herself asking. She regretted talking the moment she opened her mouth. This was the first impression she was giving most of them? A simple question? Don't worry yourself, Aderet. she told herself. There is no reason for you to stress about getting respect from any of these people. Remember, you're in it to get a profit for the company and then get out of here. That was all you agreed to. Nothing more.
