  1. Tena put all her stuff back into her pack. "Ay-yup," she said, grabbing Ani's arm and taking her Tia card to her house out. She tapped it, appearing on her balcony, then let go of Ani and walked briskly into the house, then her bedroom. She walked into her closet and dug through boxes of poisons and various other necessities until she found a box of spare men's clothing. She had it from the days when Silas had still lived in her house, and her son was nearly as big as Ani. She picked up the box, then walked to the table and set it down. "In here," she called to Ani, "you'll find stuff that'll probably be big enough for you. You can change in that room there." She pointed at her room. "And if you don't want to get something to eat, I'll just make more food for you." She walked into the kitchen and looked into the freezer again. She had several pizzas in the eventuality that her son come to visit, but Ani was a real chow-hound. She took the pizza out and put it in the oven, then sat down on her couch to wait for it to finish cooking. @Ark1002
  2. Being a highlander must make you high all the time, then. The snow makes us sharp survivalists. We are strong because we shovel our driveways endlessly.
  3. A teenager with blond hair looked down on these events with a mix of quiet awe and... something silent. He sighed, looking over at the white wolf on the roof next to him. Its eyes were orange, its fur as snowy as the snow it lay in. Its expression was sad. Wereci was surprised that a creature so old as the wolf could still feel sorrow at something so insignificant as a city being raided. Wereci drew his sword. It was fairly short and simple, yet elegant and shining. Then he put his other hand in his pocket and brought out a glob of blackness. It quickly formed into a long spear, power emanating from the newly-made weapon. The blade was steel suddenly, the haft strong wood. "I am not a god," he said quietly, "but I have friends who are." The wolf stood up. Its eyes glowed orange and bright. Its jaws opened, and its tongue lolled out, exposing sharp teeth. "The heart is the source, the eyes provide. There is no world without eyes to see and hearts to feel. To bleed. Such is the way of the world."
  4. What was that? Did you just ask me to murder you? Because that's certainly what it sounded like. I'm a Minnesotan; we're known for passive-aggressiveness.
  5. Well, snow is awesome, and rain is just bleh.
  6. One thing that really bothers me about Sanderson's books is the utter lack of cold or snowy places. I live in Minnesota, so not being able to make a snow-loving character like Wereci (from the story I'm writing) hurts. Love of the cold, snow, winter, night, stars, moons, etc. is really emphasized in the Tesan Kingdoms.
  7. I now claim the title of The Sharder Who Posted A Christmas Meme. Yes, that was a Grinch reference. Except, err, not really.
  8. So, I've read through (most) of this thread and holy socks, people. We nerds really do develop emotional attachments to fictional characters (I know someone who has literally claimed Kaladin and Renarin as her husbands, actually, so maybe you guys aren't so bad). Despite the fact that I'm inexperienced with real relationships like those you guys are talking about, I do have a whole load of third-person experience, and I do know quite a bit in theory (I also like to pretend I'm emotionally stable), so my input may be worth something. Kaladin would probably not make a good partner, unless the person he's in a relationship with is someone more grounded and stable than he, which really opens up his options. I don't care about age boundaries when you talk about adults, so I think Jasnah and Kaladin is plausible. I also think Szeth and Kaladin is plausible, if only because that would be the funniest relationship of all time (like the two guys from White Christmas, where one of them is always reminding the other that he nearly died because of him). That would hilarious, but, now that I think of it, probably not realistic. Szeth and Kaladin would just sink each other into further states of depression every time they meet. Jasnah and Kaladin, though... their shared sense of duty and responsibility... yes, that could work.
  9. "Men!" Tena exclaimed as though they were the most hopeless thing in the world. "You are such a... well, actually, I can't think of anything to describe you that wouldn't sound inappropriately affectionate. Hells." She slung her pack off her shoulder and sat down, sticking her head in it. "Oh, wow," she said, her voice echoing a bit in the large space inside, "what I want is near the top today? It has to have been Christmas yesterday!" She yanked her head out, then stuck her arm in, rooting around until she grabbed a package of beef jerky and brought it out. It was, as a matter of fact, Carolina Reaper-flavored, so she grabbed a piece and stuck it in her mouth, eyes watering, then set it out of Ani's reach so he wouldn't accidentally grab any. She took an apple out of the pack after another moment of searching, then handed it to Ani. "I honestly have no idea why I'm always prepared to feed people," Tena confessed as she chewed on the hot-as-hell jerky, blinking tears out of her eyes. "I've scared any appetite I have into submission by feeding it stuff like this," she waved another piece of jerky at him, then put it into her mouth. "Do not try to eat one of these. I would hate to be responsible for giving you a heart-attack." She continued eating the jerky for a moment, then her eyes lit up. "Oh, did you mean you wanted to go to a restaurant? Because, honestly, I think I'd prefer that too." @Ark1002
  10. "Ya, I can see that," Tena quipped. "Yes, you're real nice. Huh. Though, you are a little tall. If still handsome." She grinned, a little maliciously, then her face fell. "I haven't gone on one date with you. Gonna need to remedy that..." She trailed off as she kept on kissing him. @Ark1002
  11. Well, that was utterly unexpected, Tena thought as she kissed Anthony right back. Didn't he just act like I'd done him some horrible crime? She wasn't sure what it might've been; she'd only stopped kissing him for a moment. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and really felt the emotion from him. She opened her eyes for a moment, and saw his infused-amethyst eyes. Such beautiful, beautiful eyes. She pulled her mouth away for a moment, then said, "I love you." She leaned back to him and kissed him again. @Ark1002
  12. 1. Because this is my AMA, and only my laws apply. 2. Nope. 3. Sounds like a lot of work.
  13. 1. I'm a high-functioning sociopath. 2. A lot, but only the homemade stuff. 3. Don't know.
  14. 1. Because I thought it was funny. 2. Nope. Yes. Never tried it.
  15. Oof, my child, oof. Tena grinned at Ani. "Y'know, huh, you are fairly handsome when you're happy. I'm just not used to seeing you like that. Maybe that's why I never noticed." She pressed her head into his chest. He was warm, and strong. His arms were wrapped around her shoulders, and that made her feel... safe. Somebody else making me feel safe, she pondered. Now that's a real novelty. But he is, wow, real. "Hmm," she said quietly, closing her eyes. @Ark1002
  16. "It's Christmas now," Tena said to Ani, "so..." She slung her pack off her shoulder and began rooting through it. "I've gotta have something somewhere in here," she muttered. "Bags of Holding are convenient like this, but I somehow still manage to get stuff lost..." She stuck her head inside the bag and eventually found what she was looking for: an orange scarf. "Ha!" she yelled, then brought out the scarf and gave it to Ani. "Ya know, men always look more handsome with a scarf to highlight their eyes. In this case, the orange scarf contrasts with your nice, pretty violet eyes, and the color of the scarf was, ya know, totally on purpose. Hmm, fashion advice from an agent. I'll bet that's the day you thought you'd never see. Yes, you're very pretty, mi amor. Uh, I mean Ani." She winked at him, then hugged him. @Ark1002
  17. 1. BLUE PILL. 2. I don't know; I'm still about Halfway to Newarre.
  18. Tena glared at Dwig after standing up, not really sure why. Then, she growled at him, "If you hurt Ani at all, I swear by the Moons herselves you shall never see another night sky. Do I make myself perfectly clear?" She stood by Ani, then looked up at him. He really did have beautiful eyes. The first thing she thought of was lilac, but that didn't suit him. Something more like... an infused amethyst. Hard and cold and sparkly. Yeah, that was better. She smiled at him. @Ark1002 @Dr. Dapper
  19. 1. Oh, that's a hard one. I'd have to say you'd be about thirty paces from Kelsier, twenty from Endowment. 2. Depends on the condition of the farmer's wife. If she's happy, about thirty pounds, without shipping and handling. If she's not, there is no tallew because the farmer didn't grow any, instead seeking solace in the forest, where he was the first to see the growing shalebark. 3. Whenever the hell I feel like it!
  20. "Hmm," Tena hummed, faintly aware that this was the first time she'd kissed anyone in maybe two decades. By the Sisters herselves, this was the fastest she'd ever fallen in love with someone, wasn't it? And that meant that she was either desperate, or that Anthony really was just a great guy. But he isn't, she thought, he really isn't. The realization made her pull away from Anthony a little in surprise. When I first met him, he was okay, but today? He charged into a town full of innocent people and killed them. That thought made her sick, and she pulled her lips away from his, meeting his eyes and trying to search them for some hint that he was repentant about what he'd done. But, of course, there wasn't, since he didn't know what he'd done. And, as she looked into his eyes, she came to a simple conclusion. I'm in love with a mass-murderer. Which was oddly perfect, she knew; it meant that Anthony wasn't too good for her, unlike Mace or that half-Koloss guy from Scadrial. She always felt bad about forcing men into relationships where their girlfriend was a far worse person than them, but she couldn't do that to Anthony because he was an awful person too. What a strange thing to be happy about, she thought. And, though he was undeniably in the same body, he really didn't act at all like Hellbent. When he took out his spikes, that must've altered his spiritweb. But he'd still killed all those people... and she still loved him. It was a fast decision, and an impulsive one, but it was true, she was sure of it. @Ark1002
