  2. "I like how I count as 'barely anyone'," Tena noted, leaning back in her chair. Then she winced and stood up, following Ani.
  3. The waiter nodded, then told the chef to prepare some Carolina Reaper-flavored chicken. He brought it out to the table a moment later, setting it in front of the man. *** "Well, Silas is... really... well, he's a gorram sight way too much like me. I let him wander, do what he likes in the Alleycity the majority of the time, and most of the raising him groundwork was already done, so I just had to help him through being a teenager and the like. He was an easy kid to raise; very calm most of the time. I think he started taking down the criminal element in the City at a fairly young age... Well, anyway, I mostly just had to help him get over his insecurities. Not really that hard, and I winged it most of the time. He ended up sort of alright. Good enough, anyway." @Ark1002
  4. "Oh, it would hate that, please do," Wereci chuckled to Shifting Shadows. then turned back to the wolf to see it had suddenly become a black leopard, and was leering at him rather ominously. "Oh, don't you try anything," Wereci chided it, then watched as it became that same white wolf it had been a moment before.
  5. "Well, storming is from my home planet, Roshar," Tena explained. "I don't use it because I really don't like thinking about most of time there. Rust and Ruin is one from Scadrial, invoking Ruin, one of the Shards that combined into Harmony. The other was Preservation." She waved her hand for him to continue talking, then spoke in a slightly teasing voice, absently twining the fingers of her left hand with his, "Are you going to ask me any more questions about me, or should I call in a Cosmere scholar to answer you?" @Ark1002
  6. "Why are you swearing?" Wereci asked with a grin, then answered his questions. "Our planet is not safe for outsiders. The hormonal stress alone would probably drive anyone from the outside insane within hours. And, uh, the wolf can't speak. It is, after all a wolf." The wolf nipped Wereci lightly on his calf, then nodded its head at Shifting Shadows. "Despite all its inclinations to become other things."
  7. Tena burst out laughing, nearly making her chair fall over backwards. She continued for a moment, then stopped, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. "Yah, yah. I really do. My mother and father are both dead, never really cared for either... my younger brother inherited the family business, I think, which is sailing merchant ships to Natanatan. I've never been married," she looked at him with a sly grin as she said that one, "so there is that. I've given birth to-- oh, nevermind that. Don't wanna think about it. I adopted a son, his name is Silas, and I think he's about twenty-five. I have a crazy cousin with a grudge against me, and a grandfather older than Harmony himself with loads of Investitures. That's pretty much it, really. I am related to the Ventures, I guess. Anything else you wanna know?" @Ark1002
  8. Yeah, you're right. But I'm pretty sure Ungoliant could still kill TLR. Just suck the Investiture right out of him like a tasty snack.
  9. … That is also true. Rust. Well, let's say that I'm completely screwed. Ha, just kidding. Let's say that each character appears independently after their precedent has been slain. Maybe let's put Ungoliant up against TLR. She would totally slay him. She eats everything.
  10. Well, there are several Soothers or Rioters among the Sanderson side. However, if Tom Bombadil can stand up against the ring and not be affected at all, which even Gandalf can't do, then a Soother or Rioter couldn't get him. And we all know that Tom Bombadil is the real defining factor of any battle.
  11. *grumbles* You are a smart one, aren't you? I think that they could conceive of a peace by the leaders telling them that they get to kill the other side.
  12. Wereci followed Shifting Shadows, the wolf trotting along behind. The steel bridge made him nervous, but the wolf had told him earlier that Soulcasted materials were fairly safe, so he padded across without missing a beat. Merging packs? Now that's not really an option. Wereci and the wolf lived on another planet entirely the majority of the time. "I'm sorry, Shadows," Wereci said to Shifting Shadows, "but that's not viable. My pack still needs me elsewhere, I am using my free time on this planet. The wolf feels the same way."
  13. If a character is featured, they would have their name explicitly mentioned, or speak to the character the story is being narrated by. The Windrunner in Dalinar's vision spoke to him explicitly, and so he counts. That's also why Jezrien counts. I'll agree with you on that one. Dragons vs KRs isn't exactly a fair match. If you were talking about, maybe, Huan vs KRs, that would be where it gets interesting. Again with the mind-reading. Galadriel and the rest of the Tolkien characters would be off to the sidelines, and Galadriel would be able to read TLR's mind to find out his weaknesses.
  14. Tena smiled at Ani's compliment. She looked great? I don't know about that... I'm probably too muscly and scarred to look anything other than intimidating. If even that. But the way he was looking at her... maybe he really did think it was true. I might have pretty eyes. Or maybe he likes women with sharp cheekbones. Most men preferred women with round faces, all soft, and her old boyfriend had always been honest with her, telling her that her face wasn't exactly perfect, but that she was pretty in a proud, manly sort of way. Being told that she was just beautiful, though, that was great. He didn't like any specific things about her face, just thought she looked great. A nearby Koloss yelled at her and Ani, so Tena raised a calm hand to it. "I'm sorry, we're having dinner. Some other time, maybe. Not right now, though." She turned back to Ani, with his infused-amethyst eyes and asked, "Do you want to know anything about me? I'll tell you, whatever it is." @Ark1002
  15. I'm sorry if I was inadvertently mentioning characters that haven't been named or featured, that those are nonetheless the rules I have made. I'm saying that the dragons breathe fire, which reduces Radiants to ash, whether or not they heal themselves afterward. Dragons' fire is very hot, and if it hits a Radiant, the Radiant will burn. The characters are controlling themselves. No divine influence. The participants of this duel agreed earlier that Shards and above are not allowed to fight, neither are Valar and above on the Tolkien side. When Archer asked me the question, his wording was that it was a 1v1 duel.
  16. No, only once. Like if you thought that you could count Hoid and Wit as being different, you'd be wrong.
  17. "I'm pretty sure there's about ten planets we can visit," Tena said, "though I've only ever been to four of them. I don't wander much." What he said about the knife worried her even more. He had been a person too evil to live only a little while ago, and what if he remembered that and tried to kill himself? Her expression lapsed into worry for a moment, then back to serenity when she realized she'd lost control. "Anything else, Ani?" @Ark1002
  18. Actually, Voidus, everything you just said is inaccurate. I said, explicitly, that named or featured characters only count. Three Windrunners. KRs cannot heal from death, sorry. Spiritual healing only works with characters that know how to do it. No pantheons, bro. Pokémon-style duel. One at a time.
  19. The waiter wasn't entirely surprised. He had, after all, been dealing with the couple and that strange Koloss. He walked off to the kitchens and sent in the order. The cook began making the food with a sigh. *** Tena absently reached out to give Ani the knife she'd been sharpening, then paused. Hellbent would have asked for a knife in this situation. "Don't do anything bad with this," she begged Ani, then pressed the hilt of the weapon into his hand with a wince. I'm going to have to show some trust if I want this to get serious, she told herself. Somehow, she still felt a looming sorrow shroud the back of her mind. He's going to become Hellbent again, isn't he. Oh, I wish I could prevent it. Should I tell him? She almost did, then decided against it, not knowing how he would react. "I think," she said, keeping her expression and voice composed despite her distress, "that you'll have to be asking me all the questions, since you only just woke up a few hours ago, and I doubt you have many memories from before to tell me about." Anyway, I was with you those last few moments before you tried to kill yourself. Thinking of him committing suicide made her even more nervous, and she had to work harder to keep it from showing on her face. *** The waiter arrived back at the table with two turkeys fresh from the superheating fabrial, then put them on the table in front of the man who'd given the order; the woman didn't look nearly so ravenous as her date. @Ark1002
  20. Wereci nodded at Shifting Shadows's message, then answered for the wolf, who wasn't exactly an elegant conversationalist. "His pack are not here, but he will fight the Hemalurgic Abominations. My pack is on another planet, and I too shall fight." @Ark1002
  21. Wereci and the wolf were unfazed by the mechanical army assembling around them.
  22. Tena walked into the restaurant with Ani following behind her. She put her hands on her hips at the state of disarray the place was absorbed in, then walked to one of the tables and sat down, immediately bringing a well-used whetstone out of a pocket and beginning to sharpen one of her knives. @Ark1002
  23. "You are such a darling," Tena said, kissing Ani on the cheek and smiling at him. "Hmm," she said quietly, digging through her pack again and finding a card to Einladung Hospital, then swinging the pack back on. She pulled Ani to his feet, then held his hand and tapped the card with her other one.
  24. Wereci flicked back his ears at the scent this Shifting Shadows gave, obviously to the wolf. The wolf understood the meaning, but not as well as Wereci. The wolf didn't spend long as a canine at any given time, while Wereci had been part-wolf his entire life. Wereci and the wolf's sharp noses both picked up on Shifting Shadows's scent. He was human, clearly, but there was something dirty and unwashed about him, this sense of trying to be a wolf but knowing what it was to be one. Humans can't be wolves, Wereci thought, but we can be the brothers of wolves. "Yes, I'll help," Wereci said. "This isn't right. The wolf agrees." @Ark1002
