  1. Now you are thinking how I am thinking. I sent them a tweet on this earlier today in fact. I would say great minds.... but yours is probably greater than mine. Anyways, we will see what they say.
  2. Just as a note; we don't know if it is an equal split of good days and bad days. Though, come to think of it, maybe him being an "idiot" is not as bad as we are thinking. Sure, he should not be making decisions for the kingdom, but there are some people who have lower IQs (maybe myself included :)/> ) that are perfectly capable of making ordinary decisions, but should not be in charge of a nation. We do not know Brandon's full thoughts on this, but he may not reach a "cognitively impaired" level and therefore, functions as a normal person, just not one that should be making huge decisions that day. The "I am a smart guy, but should not be running the United States" idea. This makes me think of maybe going from the learned IQ of a normal person and reverts to the thought patterns of a child. If you think about it, the child will make some poor decisions based on how they view the world, but I promise you if it is something as important as the oathstone and Szeth, they would follow through regardless of age (passed a certain age of course). Another thing that could be in effect here is that the cognitive processes could be running differently from day to day. For example, one day he could be sharp as a tack. The next day, he could still have some sense in that brain of his but not know exactly for the life of him where he placed "that damnation sock". Finally, we do not know how often his IQ is low and how often it is high or in-between. Maybe only every once in a while does he wake up and simply not have the IQ to run a nation. The fact that he agrees to the test each day (meaning it is locked somewhere in his memory suggests that it is not completely unmanageable, even when his is LIQ (Low IQed)). There are a lot of scenarios that could play into this....
  3. As long as he could choke out the words and have his grubby palms on the oathstone....
  4. Would be interesting nonetheless, though I do not see anything in the earth books that would suggest a link either.
  5. Yeah, I put in an interlibrary loan out on it. We will see if anything turns up. I saw that they won't do it for UVU, but I assume that this is due to proximity as I have heard that others have been able to get it.
  6. I think that this is actually quite an interesting point. IQ and memory are indeed separate. Maybe the questions should be, what would the conversation have been like, if Szeth had arrived on a particularly low IQ day. Based on their conversation and the eloquence of his words, his IQ must have been at least medium to high.
  7. Thanks! If anyone wants to pass this over to the Misborn RPG group they are welcome to as well. I am not yet registered there.
  8. I had a thought the other day about this. Do you think it is possible that all of his "earth" and "alternate earth" books are somehow connected as they are not part of the cosmere? Brandon tends to be very sneaky...
  9. Well, I wish you guys luck! I have gone through a number of these as well (one very recently) and it always takes a lot of work. We appreciate what you guys are doing!
  10. I know many of you have them, but they are obviously no longer available and I would like to obtain a set. I am of course discussing the Mistborn Dice that were once created by Crafty Games (publisher for Mistborn Adventure Game). I recently reached out to Peter to see if there was any way to obtain them, and he of course directed me to Crafty Games. They sent me the following tweet this morning: With that tweet in mind, who would be interested in creating "demand" for these dice? I am sure we could do a number of things, such as create a petition, convince them to do a preorder trial (this entails them taking preorders and once they have enough, they create the dice and send them out). I personally would like to have a set or two and I am certain that I am not the only one that did not get them in the early batch. To give you an idea of what they look like, see the picture below:
  11. If you are working on a card game, I would be willing to help. I have recently started on a Way of Kings card game using the MD Editor.
  12. Here is the explanation from when Raoden begins to understand it better, based on the description from Galladon, along with books he finds: - Elantris Ch. 28I will have to do some further searching through part 1 of Elantris to find the part where Raoden and Galladon have the initial conversation about Dor.
  13. This is exciting news. I am excited to see what transformations will be made.
  14. I love reading Patrick's reviews/blurbs that he does for books. I found his interview about how he came up with his blurb for Way of Kings very comical.
  15. I am also partial to the US cover. Though, as with you, Yados, I normally prefer the UK cover.
  16. Ok, makes sense. Thank you for your responses and again, I really appreciate this resource.
  17. Thanks for clearing that up, Peter!
  18. This was the one thing I was struggling with as well. I was just thinking that maybe I was being stupid or everyone else had realized something I hadn't. I think that there is a lot more to becoming KR than discovering some powers.
  19. Spent some time looking over these today and though I never belonged to them, thank you for putting them out there for our viewing pleasure. I have learned so much in the past few minutes by simply perusing some of the forums over there. It truly is a wealth of knowledge! Since it seems that it is no longer active, can someone tell me what happened to the site?
  20. A new cover the the Rithmatist has sprung up on the interwebs. Maybe this is old and I just noticed it now. If so, I apologize. I believe this is the UK cover if I am not mistaken. In any case, enjoy. The link from whence it came is posted below: Original Story EDIT: As it turns out, it is the UK cover. See this link for more information: Fantasy-Faction 2nd Edit: Brandon did in fact post it on his twitter yesterday and thought I thought my twitter feed was up to date......
  21. Thank you for all of the responses. I apologize for posting the first place, as it appears it was already asked (3 times I might add) but my search button must be broken. Beyond that, I really enjoy your thoughts about what you would have done. Personally, I would have taken the shards. I am certainly not as noble as Kaladin and though I would try and use them for good, I truly believe that vengeance would be the first thing I would have gone after.
  22. So there is a really big spoiler in this question, so if you have not read WoK, do not proceed in in reading this. Do we know who the shardbearer is that Kaladin killed (I believe he was Veden if I remember correctly)? I could not find reference to who he was. If not, does anyone have any theories? Also, I guess this is kind of a personal moral dilemma I have been thinking about, but knowing Kaladin's past, would you have abandoned the shard plate and shard blade or would you have immediately put it on anyways? Final question; was there any reference to regret that Kaladin showed for not becoming a shardbearer on that day? I know that he hates the lighteyes even more, but I do not recall a direct reference or quote to, "I should have picked up that shard plate and blade that day".
  23. That is what I am hoping as well. Brandon promised it was coming and that he would still be writing 100% of the story for the game, so hopefully something turns up soon. They have a great looking site over there that has me really excited, I just never see anything new.
  24. This is fantastic news. I have TWoK set as my background as well, so I am very excited for the next.
  25. A month late here, but Brandon confirmed to me that it is making it's way to next gen consoles. I assume PS4, Xbox 720, and Wii U. I am sure it will see a PC release as well, though I forgot to ask this.
