It does! Thanks that’s sorta what I was thinking but I wanted some clarification The gaseous form of her investiture is a cloud of smoke
-
Exactly, and just because he wants it to be true doesn’t mean it is.
-
I love that explanation. Here’s the wob it makes me think of. Oathbringer London signing (Nov. 28, 2017) #4 Shardbound [PENDING REVIEW] Do all Shards have a direct paired opposite intent... Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] No, I would say no, they do not all have a directly paired opposite intent. I also think that Brandon can be tricky when it comes to the names of the shards. In the case of Odium it is very evident that whatever the shard would truly be named, he has his own ideas about what he wants to be called. And that is the info Brandon gives us as he reveals the story from different perspectives of people w their own motives not to mention lack of the complete picture.

Lol of course...would that be cultivation?

This will contain many spoilers. Here’s my other question. I’d love some thoughts on this

I like how the person that started this just comes in, says something super contentious, and then just leaves. btw that sentence was sarcastic.

Argent [PENDING REVIEW] How many waves of human populations have migrated to Roshar? So I'm thinking the Ashynites coming from Ashyn, right? Was that just the only humans that ever came as a population? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] It depends on if you count the Iriali? Argent [PENDING REVIEW] That's specifically the one I'm thinking of. Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] They came in a separate migration. Argent [PENDING REVIEW] Not from Ashyn? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] Not from Ashyn. Argent [PENDING REVIEW] From whatever the Third Land was.

That’s a cool idea. I’m totally lost on the timeline that fits the books together. I wonder if the timing works out with Nightblood’s creation and Harmony’s supposed “dumping”. I don’t think Sazed would directly give Nightblood power because that would be insane and reckless. Which is def not Sazed’s personality

Best band name ever: “theoretical evil peach jar”. The shard of Endowment was obviously part of Nightblood’s creation. I’m not saying anything different from that, but I wonder if anyone can point out behavior (after creation) that would indicate that shards influence on nightblood’s personality. I think we’ve done that pretty well in regards to ruin. @Invocation I agree. What I’m saying is It seems like when Nightblood is used he not only affects the physical but the spiritual also ( similar to how a spike steals and stores). Leinton (paraphrased) Does Nightblood rip souls out of people, by chance? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Nightblood consumes Investiture, including the spark of life
-
Ok @Calderis what does he mean by “it can be taken both ways”? Because it sounds to me like Hoid is just saying I took my mentors name position mission whatever. If that’s one way what’s the other? That it’s completely literall?
-
Interesting. I’m pretty sure I read a wob somewhere saying that when creating Nightblood they were trying to imitate a shardblade. But it seems like he almost more closely resembles a Hemalurgic spike. This is from an annotation for warbreaker: “ Nightblood is better at communicating with people who are mentally unhinged. He can influence them more easily. Really, Denth, you should have known to toss Nightblood someplace far deeper than the shallow bay” Isn’t that also a deal w the spikes?

@Steeldancer So do u think that the command “destroy” was too simplistic for a creature with the level of sentience that nighblood has? Similar to how “evil” is too vague because it can be interpreted in different ways? Second, are u saying that the the words in the command forces the awakened object to retrieve its “power” from the most closely related shardic intent?

Check out Isaac’s answer Here’s another one: Questioner [PENDING REVIEW] So, when Vin and Kelsier are running around spewing those coins everywhere. I assume that leaves coins all over the place. So, what happens to all that money? Are there conceivably skaa who could make a living? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] I got asked this in my writing group, way back when. Way, way back when. I got in alpha reads and beta reads too, people are like "They're just throwing money all over!" I'm like, "Yeah, it's a meaningless amount of money to them at that point, and is cheaper, in a lot of ways, than going and buying bits of metal, because of the way..." Anyway. The answer is, they just get left there. And there are skaa who have a very lucky day the next day. Because to them, that money isn't a throwaway amount. And you could conceivably do very well watching where Mistborn went, and following after them. I'm not sure if there are people who do that. But it would make for a nice story, so we can imagine that there is at least a few people who try to track where they are. I mean, the problem is, once you start into that effort, you start to get to the realm of people who that money is insignificant to again. So, like, no underworld crime lord is gonna track where Mistborn are to go gather the clips that they drop for jumping around. It just isn't worth their money. But one of the things you see in an economy like in the Final Empire is that the wealth disparity is such that, for some people, that could be worth their time. Trev412 Could cannibals steal investiture? Brandon Sanderson Not normally

Could u provide some context to that wot quote? I can’t remember...

Wow, I envy you. So many books left to read! Hey I don’t know why everybody’s always hatin on Zane. I thought he was a pretty cool villain. And “KILL HIM, GOD WHISPERED. “ has to be one of the best openings to a chapter ever

That’s a really good idea, I like that.

TrдVψLшR 0115 commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
Ok I was having a pretty bad day, and then I listened to the podcast. I was so laughing hard. u guys were hilarious so thanks especially @Chaos I was dying “nobody’s ever been like ooh I like that American accent” -
This may sound a little depressing, but there is also hope there. It’s a reminder to me that not only are there forces internal that heal but external also.
