Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
CadCom replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'll sign up. (Cadmium Compounder) I feel like Miumpounder the cobbler will be a good character for this game. Perhaps this time I can actually get some RP in with him, and be a bit more in role than last time Just so you know, I may be less active(though not inactive) until after the 11th. I should still be able to post at least once or twice per cycle though. So Roleplay is done based off the role you've signed up with. The Role you are given is to be kept a secret, and gives you abilities, but for the most part, you do all of your role play based on the role you've signed up with. Not everyone signs up with a role, or is particularly avid of Role playing, so some people just do analysis-type posts.- 583 replies

Well, I made a mistake, and died early. I enjoyed reading the game though, though I couldn't keep up extremely well on the game after I died, due to school and other things deciding to be very busy all of a sudden. So, it's kindof good that I died early. My response to the game as a whole is that I wish I could have participated more. It seemed really fun, and I wanted to experiment with the praise mechanic more, because I saw it as something that was potentially very useful to either side if used right. And just a quick response as to the reason behind my lynch. I'm taking a political theory class right now, and we talked about how some of the political theories used in the past were very radical. Like in the French Revolution. They cared more aboutover throwing the current rule, and didn't really have a Government system ready when they succeeded, which made things worse for a lot of people who actually supported the revolution. Equally, I believe that I was trying to take too big a bite at once, move too fast, without looking at long term consequences. For this I agree with the lynch against me. Though, as stated in the thread, by someone(don't remember who) who came to my defense later on, after I'd died(I think). There are a few experienced players who are practically impossible to read, and no one gets mad at them for trying to not be readable, therefore removing an aspect of Community from the game, but as some have mentioned, that has been their playstyle from the beginning, and while they are generally hard to read, they do offer tremendous help to the village. (Most of the time. I seem to recall at least one game, where Alvron only ever said random words, that apparently have some sort of meaning behind them, but the meaning is only known to him. That was one of my favorite interactions with Alvron though, so I really don't mind.) I have learned that constantly changing my metagame isn't good or fun for the SE community, I also realize that my metagame has only been from one side, as a villager, so up to this point, no one has seen me as an elim, therefore, no one knows how to read me as an Elim yet. But I also think that it is important to allow people to have more freedom past how they play their first few games, to experiment with new ways to play. So, I hope I don't offend anyone, but I may still make small changes to playstyle to see what I can to do make it more fun, both for me, and for others. Hopefully I can keep people on their toes in a good way. I do agree with Orlok, my behavior at the beginning was a bit unacceptable, but I do think that change, in and of its self is not an unacceptable behavior. All things in moderation though.

I suppose that I didn't think through that post very well at all. I am trying to mix up my playstyle, but I suppose adding confusion into the mix is not the right way to do it. I definitely understand the reason why allowing people to vote on me is counter productive, and I understand how it makes me suspicious. I am a villager, and I will vote for the person with the second most amount of votes now, because they have as good of a chance of being elim to me as I do to you (statistically speaking, not based off of content) I am also a soother, so I will use that to hopefully help me survive at least one more cycle, though I am certain that I will not survive much longer, having already role-claimed. Once again, I understand that Being contrived is a bad strategy, and I would normally agree with the votes against me, so I apologize. I will place my praise vote on Fifth, as I believe that their reasoning for their vote on me is better than Orlok's who is his nearest competetor Out of survival, Snipexe, Fifth Scholar.

Good! In trying to mix up my playstyle, that way when I finally get to be Elim, people don't know what to expect! I was trying to make it sound contrived!

Miumounder watched carefully as Kalfaix attempted -and failed- a simple card trick. The real Kalfaix would not have been fooled by Severence concealing the card instead of placing it back in the deck. Miumounder thought. Kalfaix was one of the best magicians within the elendel basin. That would not have slipped past him. Though perhaps he is just nervous or having an off day. Fortunately for me, It is not that simple for a faceless immortal to imitate me. I mark all of the shoes I make with a special marking, that is different for each shoe, but recognizable nonetheless. And I do it when no one is around to watch. On the back half of the brand patch that is stitched to the side is where my mark hides. It was a unique symbol, that many described as a swoosh, and others described as a check mark, with soft corners. Miumounder decided it was best to approach Kalfaix to test him again. "Kalfaix, It has been a while since I've heard word of you being in Elendel. Traveling to the roughs I presume? What brings you back to Elendel precisely at this time?, when the contest for the Heron Inheritance was only announced a week ago. Awefully coincedental if you ask me" Miumounder was not known to engage in much small talk. He preferred to get straight to the point.

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past

Lynch: Fifth (1) - Furamirionid Furamirionid (2) - Joe, Orlok Joe (1) - CadCom Ark1002 (1) - Snipexe Snipexe (3) - Shqueeves, Fifth Scholar, Ark Gancho Libre (1) - Young Bard Itiah (1) - Gancho Libre Jondesu (1) - Fifth Scholar Orlok (2) - Araris, Aonar Xino (1) - Meta T Praise: Orlok (5) - CadCom, Fifth Scholar, Ark, Snipexe Araris (1) - Orlok Jondesu (1) - Joe Joe (1) - Shqueeves CadCom (1) - Young Bard Fifth Scholar (2) - Gancho Libre, Elandera, Meta T Bard (1) - Aonar ------ We are at about 24 hours into the cycle, and the voting discussions seems to be very active, which is great! Here's my thoughts and analysis on some of the major things occurring so far. Snip Lynch(since he's currently in the lead): I disagree with the motives of the additional bandwagoning on him. A lynch must take place, but the first vote was by Fifth, as a poke vote, the second as a RNG, and the third with limited information. Praising Orlok: I don't have any issue with praising Orlok. Looking over the list of potential influential players, they all seem like they could be just as deceptive as elims. Except me. I am always village, and therefore would make a terrible elim. More than anything, it seems like a valid way to begin getting information. The praise vote mechanic in general: If Elims get the praise vote handed to them, I imagine that they will try to keep that vote with them for longer. Thus, voting for other Elims with the praise vote, or convincing others to do so. (of course not that I've pointed it out, it becomes ikyk, like everything else that gets pointed out. But also Occam's Razor usually still applies) But once again, if the influential people don't die for multiple cycles, those people become more suspicious of being elims who are collaborating. It appears that currently, there is enough activity to overpower an active elim team, so we shouldn't have to worry about it if we're wrong. Thoughts anyone? My Vote on Joe: ...ehh fair enough. I can't argue with you if you claim to have been ninja'd Joe, And by consequence Orlok Anyway, now my vote is back open. Which brings up a new discussion The variety of votes cast so far: Indubitably, there is almost guaranteed to be at least one Elim in that mix of lynch votes. Which means, we can look for anyone who has vouched for anyone else, or tried defending anyone else. Though depending on the Elim's they may not even attempt to do that. There is both distancing and pocketing that can affect this. In order of thread posts. Fifth votes snip as a poke vote. NAI Fura responds and votes Snip. Orlok responds to Fura and votes Fura Joe also responds to Fura and votes Fura(Claims to not have seen Orlok's response yet.) These two votes could be a defense of Snip, and a counter wagon. Fifth defends Fura CadCom votes Joe, could be defense to Fura. Araris agrees with fifth, therefore defends Fura's vote, but does not cast vote of his own Orlok submits that Fifth, and CadCom could be suspicious Young Bard distances from Fifth, claims neutrality to Fura(acknowledges defense, but is fine with lynch if it comes down to it) And agrees with CadCom ITIAH Sides with Fura Elan disagrees with both lynches, Snip's and Fura's I did see the irony in the post, but didn't bother to say anything. But it did give me a silent chuckle. As an addendum. I cannot promise this much analysis in the future. I will try to do so as often as possible, but no guarantees. Hopefully others can take from this and build something. I don't want to make the same mistake that I made in the last game, where I waited too long to do analysis. Also, I've been ninja'd various times in the process of typing this post up between calls at work, so it may end up being very discombobulated, and no longer up to date. Edit: Just noticed that I never got around to placing a vote. I will make sure I do that soon.

Wow! that game was fun! I was Jasnah, and at the beginning of the game, I told myself that I had to get and keep allies, so I made sure that I balanced any manipulation with my attempts at honesty. Fortunately, I think that for the most part it worked. I do have a question for the GM's though. I was told at one point that I had an extra life, that I don't remember using. Did Klade have a Kill action that took care of extra lives as well?- 1062 replies

Miumounder was a cobbler. He was the greatest cobbler he knew. In fact, his particular pair of shoes were his prized possession and also his prized project. The outsole made of Pinewood, wrapped in hardened leather, The insole, also from leather, hand stitched to a soft cotton fabric. The sole was built to last. Then stitched to that was a flexible leather, dyed yellow from yellow marewill flowers, to wrap and protect the foot. Around the toes, an additional layer of leather, dyed by a red breed of marewill flowers was attached. The laces were removable, and interchangeable. Currently, his favorite laces were being worn. Black, made out of a new fabric, and extremely durable. These shoes helped Miumounder stand out. When he took them off, he was just CadCom, the boy from the streets of the 5th Octant. Thus, when Miumounder applied to join the contest for the Heron inheritance, he wore those shoes. He knew right from the beginning that would help him stand out. ------- Anyway. Thoughts on the game. The praise vote actually has the potential to have bad consequences. If the influential person is not an elim, then they instead become a possible elim target. If they are elim, then it gives elims more power to sway the vote. On the contrary, it also gives us things to look for to spot elims, which means that they may not use that strategy, unless they believe the influential person may be threatening to the Elim team. That being said, when more consequences become visible, it gives the village more informtion, and therefore gives them a better chance of victory, I would hope. I disagree with the votes on Furamirionid, because I don't think he was trying to suggest that we should not have a D1 vote. While I agree that D1 lynches are good, and generate discussion. Instead, I will vote on Joe, who seemed rather willing to push that vote toward a bandwagon. I don't see any reason why Devotary would be a bad choice for the praise vote, as I doubt that the elims would knock off the influential N1, hoping to instead manipulate them, and the vote on Devotary seems to be due to their metagame, as everyone believes they are a good player.

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
CadCom replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
On the contrary, I believe your actions are what gave the village their last chance of survival. Unfortunately, the village was not active enough to take advantage of that chance. Also, Kudos to megasif, Devotary, Drought, and Mr. Doc, to a well played game. You all did exceptional at avoiding suspicion. Drought had me 100% surprised, partially because I was only expecting a three elim team, with more powers on it. Also, it may seem that my impending death is what sparked my analysis, but in reality, I had done quite a bit of analysis up to that point, I just couldn't justify any of my suspicions until the day I was poisoned. But I did do quite a bit more following the thread and analysis that cycle.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
CadCom replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I had a gut reading of Mr. Doctor, that I thought about discussing in my analysis posts in the last cycle, but I disregarded it because last time he was an elim, no one really suspected him. So even though I had a nagging feeling, and an off read from some of his posts, I just said "naah, He's not gonna be elim again" Bummer. If I would have done that, I would have pegged 3 elims in my last cycle. Also, Sorry Kidpen for keeping you with the Elim group. The evidence, in my opinion was pretty substantial, and based on the elim doc, I don't think they planned it that way. (granted I only skimmed it and I haven't finished yet. Normally I only search for my own name)- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
CadCom replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I've got a bit more analysis to add on. This is an analysis of those I already find suspicious, and looking at their voting history. Kidpen: C1, Coop, C2, none, C3, None, C4, none, C5, Gancho. There isn't much to analyze here, other than many people thought that the kidpen vote on Coop was odd, as he was joining on my wagon, which was based off of retaliation for Lynching the GM. @Coop772 I'm sorry, If I had seen that you were going to be completely lynched for it, I would have removed my vote. But such is the nature of C1 lynches. Then of course, there's the C5, which is probably part out of self defense. --- Devotary: C1, Itiah, C2, Itiah (Final vote, secured his death) Interesting to note that the alternative was megasif, who I will look at later. C3, Deathclutch: Crucial support vote. Could have suggested another candidate, instead secured vote on Deathclutch C4 Xino, A possible alternative was Kidpen, but instead, secured vote on Xino, late in the cycle. C5, Kidpen. I personally believe that this could very well be a distancing vote here. I seem to notice quite a few of relatively late votes from Devotary in this game. I think that's something he does somewhat often, but I'm too lazy to verify that. Anyone else want to confirm that? --- Megasif C1, Schqueeves C4, Xinoehp. This vote swayed the lynch away from Kidpen or Snip, toward, a (now) confirmed villager C5, Schqueeves. An attempt to sway the vote from Kidpen again? Megasif is almost more suspicious than Kidpen to me. But that is only because I am suspicious of Kidpen in the first place, so for that reason, I will leave my vote on Kidpen for now. --- Gancho: C1, Kidpen C2, CadCom C3, None C4, Snipexe(I also believe that he poisoned me this cycle) I would blame his lack of vote C3 to relative inactivity. I am leaning village on him, but if he is elim, then he was waiting so that not too many deaths happened in the Ballroom at the same time. If my death helps the village, it's worth it. And don't worry if you've gotten all of your votes wrong so far. So Have I and everyone else as far as we know. And if I'm right, then Maybe you didn't get the Kidpen vote wrong, C1. Of course, there's also the possibility that you were just trying a distancing tactic, as Itiah, and others pointed out earlier. As an last option, if you really don't know, vote for Kidpen or Megasif, and blame it on doing me a favor. Preferbly Kidpen, but either works. TL;DR If I had to bet my life on it, (and I kind of do) I would say that Kidpen, Megasif, and Devotary are all on the Elim team. It's unlikely that I'm 100%, but I feel more confident about this than many other suspicions in past games. If one of these is not Elim, then perhaps Gancho is, but they are now my 4th highest suspect.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
CadCom replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Fair enough. So this is only in case you were the one to poison me: I mean it was a pretty wise decision, based on your suspicions, and the knowledge that you likely had as a villager, or as an Elim. You were with me from the beginning every time, and as soon as we both ended up in the dining room, you tried the poison then, which was also after another person joined with us as well. Thus being able to blame the other person. Unfortunately for you, I was able to item scan you, and I knew you had a poison, and I also Item scanned Stink, and he did not. Anyway, additional analysis. I suspect that the rightful rulers will try to make at least one person seem completely unrelated from all elim kills. I could be wrong about this my theory, but in my head it makes sense that if they were able to keep as many kills as possible as far away from one of their team members, then it would be much harder to track them down. Also, if by chance, anyone has a secret vial of antidote or healing powers, I would be very thankful if you used it on me!- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
CadCom replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, it seems I'm down to one cycle to analyze what I think happened. First of all, Even though I defended Gancho last cycle, I am considering placing my vote on him this cycle, because I have reason to believe that he poisoned me. Why? Because night 1, I item scanned him, and he had a poison. Then I've been in the same room as him ever since, and now I'm poisoned. I just barely item scanned Stink, who was also in the same room as me, and he did not have anything other than a mobile Item, which I already knew he had, because he was in communication with me. Secondly, Xino, I'm sorry, I feel partially responsible for your lynch, and originally my plan was to remove my vote from you, I just forgot to get back on before the cycle ended. I would also be suspicious of Megasif and Devotary if Kidpen flips elim. On that note, Analyzing trends of where Kills by the rightful rulers have been, C1, Kidpen was in the room, C2, there was no kill, C3 Kidpen was not in the room, but C4, he was. Also, of the original people in the kitchen, Kidpen is the only one who is still alive that hasn't been attacked. So While I am still suspicious of Gancho, It is entirely possible that he was suspicious of me and decided to try a vigilante kill, I think I will be placing my vote on Kidpen. That would put my secondary suspicion on Megasif That being said, I had considered another possibility. Someone phased into my room, then poisoned me, then left this cycle. I frankly thought this was possible, until I remembered that phasers drop items when they phase. I didn't look at any vote patterns, or timing of votes/vote removals. If I have time later on this afternoon, (which I believe I might) I will do so, keeping in mind that I already suspect Kidpen, Megasif, then Gancho, in that order.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
CadCom replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is true. Gancho's play style has always seemed to be very dissonant. there is nothing wrong with that playstyle, but it is different than most people's playstyle, so it's often accused of being elimey. I think that I've been able to determine that this is Gancho's normal style, So while that doesn't clear him of being elim, the way he is playing is not suggestive of him being so.- 177 replies

@Mr Doctor "A gamey side of canine' eh? I'd recommend a steak sauce blended with Worcestershire. Of course, though if you prefer something more sweet, try a teriyaki sauce mixed with a bit of Honey." Colonel Ketchup was in the dining room now, so he walked over to the table, where, conveniently, there were all of these ingredients. He mixed the two suggestions up, and placed them in separate serving bowls, then he brought them up to Sabien Ash. "I would try these" ---- Anyway, Sorry for inactivity. I'm back now, and should be more active for a couple of days. Anyway, unfortunately, I still don't have much read on anyone, so I'll put a gut read on xinoehp for now, at least until there is more discussion generated.- 177 replies
