  1. I'm pretty sure she did, but I don't know of any confirmations. But it is also not Telsin. This character has powers.
  2. Nope. This character is dead.
  3. Nope. This character is from Scadrial.
  4. No and no. This character is female.
  5. Darn I was going to say her next because she's the closest thing to Brightness Radiant. Okay here goes. This character is more than they appear.
  6. Go ahead. Can I do the next one?
  7. It is such an interesting possibility to me. I will admit that I would probably miss Kaladin rocking it with his spear. But it would be great to see him find a way to be true to protecting while not fearing that he will have to hurt people he cares about. Edited to say: Thanks for this whole conversation on this thread. It has definitely provided some laughs.
  8. Not sure how I need to spoiler in here so just in case... OB spoilers
  9. So are the Aimians guarding the Island in the cognitive realm too? Could Jasnah or Venli just hop on over through Shadesmar and then show up there to find out what is going on?
  10. I agree with everything @Jofwu said. Shallan's issues with the personas didn't exist until part way through Oathbringer. Yes Veil existed in WoR but more as a tool because Shallan needed a disguise. The reason Shallan says "Shallan" as a persona is false is because she knows she uses unhealthy coping mechanisms to avoid dealing with hard truths. She knows she puts on a face, but with "Shallan" it is like a normal person, not with her magic like OB Veil and Radiant. I still think Shallan is the most real one and closest to who she really is from WoK and WoR. She is just a little lost right now given everything she is going through. (Yes I know there is a WoB that says Veil is most like the real Shallan, but I think that boils down to Shallan gives Veil her strength and perseverance which she refuses to see in herself.)
  11. Okay. Thank you. I think it must have been that paired with the line about people she loved being able to hurt her that made me think that. That being said, it doesn't necessarily mean that someone other than Gavilar could have done something. @Subvisual Haze You might have a point as well. The scene in WoR is not the first time she has experienced strange things due to Ivory. Just the first time she had encountered him directly. Similarly, Syl had been following Kaladin, playing tricks on him for a little while before they ever spoke, let alone before he said the first oath. All your thoughts even tying it to the childhood illness are quite plausible.
  12. Just another thought. And someone correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't there some evidence or speculation that Jasnah may have been abused as a child? Is it possible that she tried to tell people about it but everyone thought she was crazy. And Jasnah feeling like she does about the truth would stick to her guns so people continue to think she is either making things up or is losing it. So she gets locked up.
  13. While I think it is a possibility she bonded Ivory as a child I feel like it would be too much like Shallan. One character who bonded a spren then reperessed or forgot it is enough I think. I imagine that no one remembers Jasnah's "illness" may be because it wasn't very common knowledge. It seems like something people would have wanted to keep quiet. And then as she grew older, she was obviously very intelligent and capable, so why would people think of or remember a supposed illness they knew little about. Even Navani might ignore it because of how Jasnah currently is. I'm not sure what the illness may have been, but I hope we get more hints and clues before her book comes out.
  14. Yes. To protect themselves from emotional and mental breakdowns which also helps them be better leaders. It is perfect.
  15. I don't necessarily disagree with this, but the few times Kaladin was close to saying the 4th oath seemed to be around times he was in situations where he might fail people he cared about. So while I think the oath can be tied to leading in some way, I don't think it has to only focus on leading. It just doesn't make sense in the situations in Oathbringer.
  16. I basically agree with this. I had assumed the champion idea was over since Dalinar essentially battled and defeated himself. Old Dalinar beat Young Dalinar. If a duel of champions did occur and Dalinar was the champion, then Adolin or Renarin would be symmetrical and fitting, but I still don't want it to be either of them. I like them too much. Ha ha. But I'm not even sure it would have to be Dalinar fighting either. He may have issued the challenge but could he not pick a champion as well?
  17. Those are all really good questions. I hadn't thought of that before. Are they somehow "baby" honorspren. Spren that maybe were looking for radiants or who maybe had bonded radiants who hadn't said more than the first oath and therefore weren't blades to be abandoned?
  18. Thanks. I hadn't seen that before. Now I'm looking forward to finding out.
  19. I would be fine with the 4th oath being something like that. And I just feel like that flute has to come back. Even if not in this theory. It was too big of a little thing to just go away. Ha ha.
  20. So this is just a silly idea I have mulled over in my head. It starts with this. Hoid doesn't seem to do anything without a good reason. So why give Kaladin his flute? Kaladin didn't seem to care much when he first received it, but he did always seem to respond well to Hoid's stories. They seem to have had a big impact on his journey so far. I know the flute was left in Sadeas's war camp, but it is possible (albeit a small possibility) that it made its way to Urithiru. So there is another small possibility (albeit an even smaller possibility) that it somehow comes back into Kaladin's possession. Kaladin is obviously struggling with his life-long battle of to kill vs not to kill in order to protect. I also think his 4th oath might be something along the lines of accepting that not everyone needs or wants his protection. So I guess this idea is that maybe he will learn some more things about worldsinging from Sigzil. And that maybe he will use the flute and storytelling to help inspire and lead others to protect and care for one another. I don't think this is very likely to happen. Just something I think would be an interesting possibility. I do think Kaladin and his spear are awesome but I also love Hoid-like stories and could always go for more of those.
