    Adding onto my fourth-wall-breaking story ideas ~ 

    The core characters, working under the theory that they’re in a story, go Okay, so the protagonists always survive the big battles, right? And they figure out ways to win partway through. If we just trust in ourselves or whatever our powers will evolve and we’ll find some new ability that saves the day. 

    They head into some plot-important fight with almost no preparation, assuming they’ll win just because the protagonists always win. 

    They lose. They lose so hard. The antagonists utterly destroy any semblance of a plan they did have, no new power manifests to save them, there is no dues ex machina person swooping in, and someone dies. Maybe more than one someone. 

    They barely make it out, and it’s not because of their Special Status, it’s because one of the minor characters had an escape plan and through sheer luck. 

    They don’t ever bank on winning again. They learn that being the main characters doesn’t mean they automatically get what they want. They know, after this, that they have to actually earn victory. 

    Next time, they make a real plan.

    ...and sometimes you just wanna watch the Lego Movie 

    And wanting both types is okay :P

      No seriously though. The Lego Movie is dang smart humor. (Also, the sheer amount of Lego fan directed humor is utterly astounding, and as a Lego fan, I appreciate it)

    Yeah definitely! The Alleyverse is an online written free-form roleplay, which is the official way of saying it’s a bunch of book nerds writing a story together. It’s the name of the RP itself and also the name of the universe it’s set in. It combines the cosmere with Brandon’s other works and some stuff of our own, and it’s pretty fun. TUBA is one of several guilds that basically run the place, with the most powerful being the Dark Alley, AKA that group of crazy scientists who essentially created the world and can kill you really easily, but usually don’t. Also they’re bakers. So are we. (Our cookies are totally better, and also won’t kill you or rend your spiritweb into pieces, so that’s nice.) Other guilds include our own version of the Ghostbloods, the Church of the Whiterose, and the Scholar’s Guild. Plus like fifteen that are inactive. If you want more information on anything specific, let me know! The pinned threads in this subforum have more useful info as well. (In fact, I’m not sure why I wrote this all out instead of linking one of them or pointing you toward the wiki, oops. Too late now lol)
