    Metallic Jobs

Lets discuss the technical applications of the three Metallic Arts. For example, you could replace train engines by iron/steel burners using external metal sources (I guess that's how it'll be done in AoL). Another example could be taxi/rickshaw drivers using pewter to increase their performance. Or in the courtroom, people might try and coerce the emotions of the judge/jurors to their own ends...or equally, the lawyers may use Allomancy in an unethical way on the defendants/witnesses. Thus it may be that a Hemalurgistic Seeker is used to make sure no copper clouds shield usage of Allomancy. Also, tin (savants?) could possibly trained as lie-detectors? One way of cheating the system might be to 'lose' your memory into a coppermind, or start storing in tin or steel to defeat the tin-truthers. (I guess the arts could be banned all together in the courtroom, but the 'memory-loss' idea still holds). Any others you can think of?
  3. An interesting thought, replacing pneumatic (or train-based) mail-systems with Lurcher/Coinshot's? Either as 'slavery' to the postmasters or just the post-workers out of choice, their 'dayjob' lets say. heheh Yeah, trains run by iron/steel burners is awesome and I guess thug's make good rickshaw/taxi drivers. I guess the emotional metals would be useful in justice settings, or maybe unethical to a point of not being allowed to? In that case, maybe a Hemalurgistic Seeker needs to be around, to make sure nobody uses emotional Allomancy (unless there's a Hemalurgistic mirror of coppercloud-piercing). Bank thievery....good job for Allomancers
  4. when it gets tough, just skip it...You might find you'll want to read it when you've got passed that bit >.>
  5. INDEED! My latest read-through I pretty much didnt read Perrin's plotline. 11+ though are EXCELLENT.
  6. And yes, their bodies still exist fully, as we see Leras, Ati and Vin's bodies appearing when they 'die'. I guess their bodies just cannot survive possession, or their minds are so 'expanded' that to re-enter a body restricts them so much as to be near-impossible. I guess Leras's appearing as the mist spirit was easier for him than body-habitation, since he was just moulding mist into an appearance, rather than occupying a body. Though they may be able to 'posses' puppet-like? Maybe that would've taken more strength than he was able to muster. But why, then, would Vin would not have done similar? Would she have 'known' she couldn't survive it, or something? Maybe their structural imprint/template gets stored in their vast memories, and when they perish it is pushed out into the world again? I wonder what happened to the other shard-holder's bodies >.>
  7. Yeah, lurkers have low post-frequency, but huge amounts of time spent....lurking...in the shadows >.>

  9. hehhe, epic.... and I'm sure it already linked here lol
  10. yeah, Brandon is TOO good a story-teller not to defend. The only author I know that can pull off a trilogy-turn-quadrilogy is Tad Williams...he's had enough practice at it . And I think I remember enjoying the first three, meh...not as good as other authors though. Probably wont buy the hardback (my bro might though *steals* )
  11. makes sense, bad metal and all >.>
  12. I think you mean, spiked through a Twinborn into a Seon. And I wonder what burning hemalurgic spikes is like, possibly similar to burning ones metalminds.
  13. That's pretty epic linking Odium to the Radiants EPIC <3 Joe
  14. You're rather awesome welcome. LOL @ nexuspalm. Joe
  15. Well, much like Eric, I cant remember anything, but I definitely read the first HP a few times in one night. It might have been The Hobbit, or The Subtle Knife, or Artemis Fowl, or anything really, heh.

hmm, well the Vericon Report is not in that feed.
  19. That stuff is pretty interesting, hmmmm. Maybe the spren are 'of' all the Shards, and the association of death brought from the abandonment leads to them being 'corrupted'? Joe
  20. or does the power of the Surgebinder (from the oaths?) 'purify' the Shardblades (maybe which were of Odium) into being all good >.>. (and before you say it, maybe Syl doesnt know that they're 'good' if used by the Surgebinders?)
  21. possibly, back to the Shard-paring thing, he cant destroy Honor, but can desolate the planet the made together?

Well yeah, since you've started promoting articles and things, is there any way we can get a feed of 'things that appear on the front page'? I couldn't find one, the only 4 I found were too IP.Content one which were empty, the 'blogs' feed, and the Calendar. Thanks Joe
