Wes nodded, ammo was a good idea. A gun was useless without ammo. Taking a break from shooting Wes looked at the guns, wondering where to start. He picked up a semi-automatic machine gun and began to disassemble it, but in his stress he lost a few parts. Cursing he began to assemble it again, except now adding parts from the other guns. He didn’t have any tools or welding materials, but he tried his hardest anyway. Using three of the guns Wes managed to scrap together a completely automatic machine gun, but at the cost of weaker impact per bullet. He used the parts from the other guns to make it stronger. It was perfect, except for the slight flaw it was too heavy to move anywhere, they’d just have to aim and fire from here. —-— I promise. I won’t. Max replied and looked back, hoped his bait would work.

“Five hours,” the man dressed in formal clothes said as Price sat down and the carriage began to move out of the military complex. The man looked to Price and nodded to the man and woman who were seated with them. “Both Truth’s. Being transferred for further testing.” Price nodded and gestured to Sagitta. “Intensity.” The man’s eyebrows raised and he nodded curtly. He looked to Sagitta and frowned. “Not very often we see Ta’e’iloans. It’s way across, past Cahaya.” Both Price and the man scowled at the mention of the enemy country.

“There’s a lot of us,” Marcel replied, looking to the girl. Poor girl. There was something she was hiding from, that she had to dumb herself down to avoid thinking about it. And when she did... Marcel remembered the scream she had given in the disco. “Some of them can help you, I imagine,” he said. What they could help her with was implied. He wouldn’t need have said it normally, but he felt a flash of sympathy for the girl that didn’t go away. He looked at a trail of crystal quickly skimming across the ground before breaking, and he narrowed his eyes, looked around. A Radiant was watching them. “I know you are there.”

They exited the room and Price sighed in relief as he led her to a corner of the training field situated next to thick, bronze gates with the Tühine military sigil formed on them. The carriage they were going in had a large back section where all the passengers sat together on little stools, a maximum of eight could fit in it. The horse rider at the front was already there and Price assumed most people were already inside as well. “Thankfully, not those types of soldiers on the trip,” he said and opened the back. In the section that could fit at maximum eight people now sat five. Two guards, one man dressed in formal clothes like Price, and a woman and a man dressed in very similar plain clothes to Sagitta. “Take a seat,” he gestured.

The Canton squadron looked to the beast of a creature, some of the rookies’ eyes widening at the sight of it. But the warriors among them, the veterans of the Canton, they knew that retreat wasn’t an option, it never was with the Canton unless it was a strategic retreat and there was only one strategic manoeuvre that would help them and that was getting these shields booted up. Even if it costed all of their lives. They knew the risk, and they accepted the terms and conditions. “Large infantry attack!” The leader yelled and several of the operatives began shooting Aon Daa beams of energy towards the creature in the distance, knowing it wouldn’t kill it but hoping it would slow down while two nicrobursts walked around, trying to enhance the Elantrians operatives. —-— Wes nodded. “That’s a good idea, shoot for the wings.” He took cover and took a gun, looking out for where to fire. He had practise of how to operate all sorts of guns from Ghostblood training, but aiming was not his strong suit. Indeed, very few of the shots he fired at the creature hit, and fewer still hit the wings. His specialty had never been marksmanship, it had been... It had been... Engineering. “You, know,” Wes said. “If I had a couple more guns and some time I could probably wire them all up in some sort of automatic machine gun, you know, it could be more dangerous and would require less skill to aim.” —-— Sorrow and joy. Hardship and triumph. Max smiled. I love you, he said and stood up straighter, summoned Sethramir and walked towards the face of death. Death usually came in different forms, but this time it came in the form of the grunts, the leader, the Scorlionmanbat, and every other abomination in this city, on this rooftop. Max walked towards them and Rioted their hate towards him, not strong enough to control them but strong enough to provide a powerful bait. All he had to do was survive. Because it worked so well for the last guy who did that trick.

Marcel noticed the girl seem smarter than she was and reply to him. Always store, never tap. Imagine the sheer amount of magic from storing that long! No wonder Marcel’s seal had diseased so quick. “I’m a Bloodsealer,” Marcel said truthfully, because even if his art wasn’t very well liked among Investiture, the only thing worse than a normal Bloodsealer was a lying Bloodsealer. Images of his sister flashed through Marcel’s head before he focused his attention back on the girl. “Why do you always store and never tap?”

“Yes,” Price said without hesitation. He hoped that by the time he returned to this base the soldiers would have forgotten his face, because he knew they’d never forget Sagitta’s. A Ta’e’iloan woman was just so uncommon in Tühine. He stood up, ready to leave. She had responded to the soldier loud enough for him to hear. He was comparing himself with Price? Obviously no comparison, when it came to the Physical there wasn’t much in stock for Price. “Our transport is probably waiting,” he said. Koen went red again and he turned back to his table. “I swear by Reality’s hand...” “Calm down, Lüante,” one of the soldiers said. “You know the Ta’e’iloan ones. Feisty. Hard to catch by even the best of us.” “I guess...” And the conversation transitioned seamlessly into other things, the soldier giving one more spiteful glance to Sagitta before rejoining the conversation with his friends.

Marcel smiled back at the man and looked to Wita. He hadn’t hurt her, she’d overreacted. It had made sense, he guessed, not all metalborn were used to having a bloodseal stamped on their metalminds. “It is fine,” he said. “I was too hasty.” By looking at her it seemed she was back to storing. “But I understand you know your magic?” He didn’t care for the man who was listening in on the conversation, he’d probably forget later anyway.

“They were big,” Rob said, showing a hand above him to indicate a tall height. “The one I saw taking Shana and Ben, he had black hair. Brown skin.” And a tattoo. Criminals always had a tattoo. “And a tattoo of a dolphin on his neck. The others — I didn’t see them much, they were covering their faces and I was too distracted by the shootout.”

Koen went slightly red and the soldier next to him chuckled again. Koen regained his composure however, and raised an eyebrow. “Even as an infantryman,” he said quietly again. He nodded to Price. “I bet I’m at least better at everything than that ledger man. You want me to wear ‘real’ armour, but your about to go out with a skinny scholar who’s probably never seen a battlefield in his life.” He puffed out his chest. “Fine, I’ll pay triple what he’s paying. That enough, dear?” Price watched them, watched the soldier nod to him and he frowned. It was a shame he wasn’t a Facet Instinct, he had no idea what they were talking about. Looking down he sketched something in his notes, to prevent further contact with soldiers on their travel.

Marcel saw the girl go outside and walk to where he was standing. He suddenly felt as if he was doing something incredibly stupid. The girl probably knew she was a Feruchemist anyway, what was the use making sure of it, causing her to scream for whatever reason and then luring her outside? But, that meant the whole night she had been storing Zinc. But why? He waved to her and another man followed her out. He looked at the unconscious body and asked the girl about it. “She came out just now,” Marcel said, walking ahead. He looked to the unconscious man. The man he’d knocked out, though of course he would never say it. “I saw a big man appear from an alley and knock him out, then leave. I hid so he didn’t see me.” @Sorana @Dr. Dapper

Marcel's eyes opened as wide as they could when the girl started screaming. Dancers from all around them turned, and what they saw was a pale grown man grabbing the arm of a girl as she screamed. "I'll be outside," he whispered quickly and fled, pushing past crowds of disturbed dancers and the very view who hadn't noticed. The sudden lack of disco music when he exited the party was jarring but he quickly got used to the natural sounds of London city - that was, of bustling people and raging motorcars. He walked a little bit and leaned against the building's side. "Aye, pervert," someone said and Marcel turned around to see someone punch him straight in the face. He saw stars and fell to the ground, a large man looming over. "Don't think y'can just grab girls and escape like it's nothin', mate." He kicked Marcel in the ribs and pain flooded him. Fighting through it Marcel reached into his pocket, and got the stamp from before. Just as he was kicked again Marcel put the stamp to his nose, and it absorbed the blood that was flowing out of it from the punch. Standing up shakily, Marcel raised his hands up, and placed the stamp coated in his blood on the outside wall of the building. A very sharp pain stabbed Marcel at his own blood being used for a seal, but the next moment it was gone. The man looked at Marcel for a second. "Oh, you want t'fight?" he charged again, and in one punch Marcel stepped forward and knocked him out. He looked to the seal he had placed on the wall. A strength sigil. It would only work if marcel remained in close proximity and it took a lot of Investiture to work, but it had done its job and with a few concentrated thoughts Marcel removed it, staying outside the disco to wait for the girl but leaving the man lying there.

The soldier who was next to Koen chuckled and Koen looked to him, and then back at Sagitta. "Maybe I can apologize in a different way, when my friends aren't around." He winked at her again and leaned forward. "Whatever that ledger man is paying you, Sagitta," he said quietly so only she could hear. "I'll pay double." Price grit his teeth and looked firmly at the bread in front of him, as if this whole situation was it's fault. He wanted nothing more to leave the situation right now, to go back to the underground hallways where he was in charge and no one could antagonize him, or try and allude him having slaves. They were always subjects, never slaves. At least with Price. Some other researchers did it differently. He heard the man whisper to Sagitta and he put one hand on his loaf of bread, incinerated it in a brief storm of black fire until no trace of it was left. Some soldiers looked at the display of his Instinct, but Price ignored them. He wasn't hungry.

"Not really," Marcel said and he took out a small stamp and a small disc like capsule. The capsule had been marketed as something to hold makeup but he had repurposed it to hold blood. Animal blood, for now, this bloodseal wasn't going to be anything tailoured to anyone specific. The stamp had some very basic bloodseal markings on it, which really didn't matter now. Trying to avoid spilling the blood in the disco, he quickly dabbed the stamp in it and closed the capsule. Holding the girl's arm he examined the zinc bracelet with one hand. "Observe," he said and quickly stamped it. To his happiness, the stamp flashed a dim - but still glowing - red before completely disappearing. Marcel smiled and pocketed the stamp. The stamp was always going to disappear - bloodsealings didn't work on metal, after all - but the fact that it had glowed a little before abruptly flashing out of existence proved his theory. The bracelet was Invested. Probably a metalmind. His grin grew larger. "Ta da," he said.

"Koen Lüante," the soldier said, smiling back at Sagitta. He also turned so his body faced her, and it was obvious when his eyes glanced over her figure what he was thinking. "Infantryman. And what's your name? Something exotic I hope. We don't see Ta'e'iloan woman here very often." He winked at her. Price looked at him from behind Sagitta and he leaned forward very slightly. "We just took you to the medic," he whispered, the implication clear. But he knew it probably wouldn't change her thoughts about anything. He could see her posture, like a coiled spring ready to strike. He sighed, and looked to the soldier. He looked at the light armour, the slim knife. A soldier used to easy and quick movement. And years researching instincts had taught Price things about magic users. "But if you must," he whispered. "He's a reality Instinct."

flamesinger theory The Universe
I think I am here. replied to John Flamesinger's topic in Roleplaying
Cheh felt a pull on him, and slowly he began to move in the direction of the sphere she made, yelping childishly when his feet lost contact with the ground, suddenly feeling powerless and vulnerable, with no earth in contact with or around him to bend. He'd never had his feet suspended from the ground like this, and his earthbender danger reflexes kept screaming 'danger' to him. His breath quickened but he tried to calm himself, stopping himself from hyperventilating. "I - wow, this is weird," he forced his gaze from his floating body to Jessy. "We have people who can do this where I come from. I never understood them. The ground is stable, the ground is consistent. And the sky is scary."- 502 replies

Rob blinked, and looked to James in a neutral way, expertly suppressing the emotion of surprise that wanted so badly to show on his face. "Knows about us," he repeated and blinked again, looked in front. Was it too much to hope for a friendship with a person who thought he was normal, and not some secret society Knight fighting demons? He guessed it was, it wasn't like anyone from school knew him as anything else than the 'monotone kid'. In fact, if it wasn't for him being a Knight he probably wouldn't have any friends. Still... it hadn't seem like Ashlyn had judged him, even when she hadn't known he was a Knight. "I thought regulars couldn't see surges," he said and walked into the hospital room and he waved to Ben and Shana. Two police officers walked in and began asking questions. James answered and said Rob had seen more. Rob looked to the officers square in the face and replied without hesitation. He had always had a perfect poker-face. "I was outside the prom from some fresh air, I saw a man trying to carry Shana and Ben away. His hands were full so I charged into him and Shana and Ben escaped. More of them came from the van and started shooting at us. More people - the people you have in custody, came out because of the noise and the men started shooting at them." That was the best explanation, Rob thought. It explained why everyone was where the police found them, and Rob had made up the story of there just being one man at first because even he knew he wouldn't be believed if he told them the truth. According to the public they were just teenagers, and a couple teenagers weren't supposed to fare well against a dozen and a half grown men. @Sorana @Lunamor
