Long Game 47: Shadow In The South
I think I am here. replied to Jondesu's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well played! Sorry for my beginning inactivity. -
Caught between two extremes. Solace directed his troops up ahead, while they were faint sounds of an army from behind. A clash of two storms. Darting away from the two monsters - he’d heard someone call them chasmfiends - Caer ran backwards, tapping Steel to go faster. He didn’t want to die! Who’s side was he on? He eventually made it to a hill, speeding past a group of soldiers, some normal and some... different. Some of them tried to stop him, maybe thinking he was an assassin, but Caer rushed on, grabbing the leader by the shoulders. Mace. His name was Mace. How would Caer remember that? ”Please, Mace!” He pleaded, watching as the army recoiled in shock in having their leader so casually reached. “I don’t remember anything! I don’t know who’s side I’m on. I don’t even know what’s going on. People say I swore an oath but I can’t even trust most of them!” Taking a quick glance at Mace’s cognitive aspect, and Caer was surprised to find no tainting whatsoever. “Please. I just want to do what’s right, but I don’t know. Please.” He looked back as one of the super-soldiers - they looked like golems, stepped forward, outstretching their hands. They could probably kill Caer in an eye blink, but he held his ground. That was how desperate he was. He took one last pleading look towards Mace.

DilafIadonMoashMalataYomenRoshoneRutharTanalan Eliminated Zane. He’s a Mistborn, ‘nuff said. Who do you think out of these candidates would be most likely to visit the Nightwatcher?

What powers have the mouth as the bindpoint Voidus Also, agreed on the Secret History point. Definitely read that too.

Caer stood up, noticing that the stranger Devaan was gone and that another man was standing up after being unconscious. An ominous thumping resided in the distance. Slowly coming into view, Caer saw that it was two gigantic monsters, each that seemed to be weaponised. They looked horrific, and Caer saw the man at their head, directing the beasts with an army behind him. Caer tried to look at his cognitive aspect but he was too far away. Immediately, the man who had stood up flew to the directing man, talking to him far away. But something tugged at Caer. The directing man looked familiar... The memory hit Rashan like a cold bowl of soup. The man directing the monsters now was the same man Caer had resurrected, on the same night Caer had died. What was his name? S...Sua...Suo...So...Soll...Sola...Solae...Solay...Solace. His name had been Solace, and Caer had resurrected him from death. But why? And if so, why was the man he saved now charging the city? Was he the enemy or the hero? Was Caer the enemy, and he just didn't know it? The questions plagued Caer as the monsters proceeded, draping Caer and all around him in a terrying shadow, a true measure of just how large these creatures were.

Disappointing, Nohadon... You should make an intro thread now. It would be funny for someone to try and welcome you before seeing you have 422 posts. -
Maybe try some of the novellas, and the rest of Mistborn Era 2. Warbreaker and the Reckoners Trilogy are also pretty good books to read. Also, welcome! Who's your favourite character?

My first couple posts were about this stupid nicrosil theory I had, before making an intro post and going on another theory. I think at that point I may have realised I was a bad theoriser and so my next post was signing up to Hitchikers Guide to the Cosmere, before meeting the Ghostbloods. I've done a few more theories since then, but it's relax all been Roleplaying since then. -

Right, now unless I was a really elaborate busser this should clear me for the time being. Suomynona, I trust Walin and I trust Halve. You and Snip are the only ones left, and out of the two of you I would vouch for Snip more. A PoE lynch worked last time so it should work now. Great writeup Jondesu! EDIT: Suomynona Snipexe . Just realised Xino was the deciding factor last lynch. If he was really Mordor he would have protected his partner by voting me, which would have worked. The fact that he didn’t clears him. He could still be a Gondor spy, but I’m more concerned on the Mordor people. Snip, you’re goof down. -

You know you're a born RPer when your first post out of the Intro Thread is joining a Guild. -
If that's minor, dare I ask what a major event is? Does it involve those darn Eldritch abominations?

We have Glieven. -
Hallo, welcome to the Shard! First of all, nice username. Personally, I didn’t know what to call myself so I just settled for an existential crisis for a name. Speaking of usernames, how’d you decide yours? You say you like writing among other things, well, the Shard actually has an RP section full of good writers, so you might find some good company there. And of all the fanbases, it’s undeniable the Sanderson one is the best . Enjoy your stay.

Incorrect actually, you guys aren’t the only companions left, and the fact that you keep wanting to nail that point in shows that you’re hiding something. How can you be so sure? So here I am, posting. If you have a method of checking I’m a companion I recommend you use it now Glieven, one of the only people left, and considering village numbers, I’m much more likely to pick an elim than not. Assuming two spies and three Mordor people, it’ll also be in the interest of the spies to help lynch Mordor people. So please do help. -
Darkness. The pain. It seemed all of his senses had stopped working, except the pain, the constant, ringing sensation. It stopped. Suddenly, a wave of clarity poured through Caer, forcing him back to consciousness. The flashes of the past and the future returned, but this time, he could understand. Turning he saw a short man press a piece of zinc and electrum against him, watching in surprise. Caer got a flash of the man, healing another with Caer before he'd died. Caer stood up, feeling the mental load lighten. The flashes became comprehensible, but still confusing, depicting events thousands of years in the past and the future, and both. Time didn't matter in the Spiritual Realm. Space didn't either. Caer saw glimpses of planets long forgotten, civilisations lost to time. He was draining whatever source of power the short man had given him, but he could use it while he had it. Stretching his mind, Caer tried to concentrate. Here, now. What was to come? What was to be? Caer saw. He looked around his group, and saw the people with him. Some would grow stronger. Some would die. Caer saw each of their spiritual beings, trying not to snap his mind once again. And then he saw what he'd been looking for. And it was horrifying. Forcing himself to stop straining his spiritual sight, Caer quit before the zincmind ran out. Any longer, and he'd be back on the floor, writhing in pain. It had only been the mental speed in the zinc that had enabled him to see so clearly. The zincmind was drained, however, but that was the least of their problems. Teary-eyed, Caer looked to the people surrounding him, their cognitive flames confused. "I saw," he whispered, kneeling on the ground. "I saw what would happen." Crouched on the ground, he began to sob. "A war is coming. And there will be deaths like none have seen."

Agreed with LevenThumps, though for me WoR ties with HoA. Spook's pretty much my favourite cosmere chracter ever. As for Steelheart, it's not Cosmere, but it's still a really good YA series, and has some killer action and worldbuilding for a superhero world. It's the first book in the Reckoners trilogy, with Firefight and Calamity coming after it. You should check it out! Also, just a word of advice, it's generally considered bad forum etiquette to double-post (or post a message right after your last one). It's preferred you edit your previous post instead of making a new one, but since you're new it shouldn't have that bad of an effect now.

Caer looked around at the people, scared. So many different cognitive flames, so many different 'boons' and 'banes'. Some of these people's spirits were tainted. Some had spikes, some had other things. It was all flashing between Caer's eyes. He was not trained with seeing so many people's aspects all at once. Looking around, Caer saw another flame, but one that had no physical aspect. A ghost. Extending his hand, Caer gripped ahold of the flame, watching as a man appeared out of nothing, wearing a weird looking cloak. Immediately, his flame turned to worry. What was he doing here? Why invisible? Caer felt a tug inside of him, immediately realising what he had to do. He'd always been peering passively into the spiritual realm, but it didn't do much. Still maintaining his grip on the man, Typhoon, as Devaan had called him, Caer closed his eyes and focused on the man's spiritual identity. And he saw everything. In a flash, Caer saw Typhoon's life. He saw how he'd been bred to be perfect, to be the best fighter, he saw his harsh upbringing, he saw how he swapped places with Kane in the Alleyway Bar, he saw how he fought Devaan, and Caer himself. He saw him place a shardblade in Caer's own chest, and then saw how he'd given the shardblade that saved his life. Caer saw beyond, however. He saw this moment, and many moments after. He saw the future, shown in brief flashes of unintelligible colour. He saw the beginning, the end, he saw Typhoon's birth and death. In way, Caer knew Typhoon more than he'd ever known himself. Was this the spiritual realm? Was this - A sharp pain seized Caer's mind, seeming to crack it, making him collapse onto the ground with a yell. He'd pushed his mind too far, way too far. Men were not meant to see what he'd seen. The pain continued, increasing in intensity. He'd need training before he could pull another stunt like that again. The pain became unbearable. His head felt like it was squeezing itself shut. Too much knowledge, too much input. He breathed in stormlight sharply, but it did nothing. His last sight before going comatose was an image of DEATH standing next to Devaan, grinning. Slowly, he turned to Caer, teeth gleaming in the sunlight. Then everything went black.
