  1. Here's something for Rashan:
  2. Rashan smiled as he downed his cup, hiding his stress. He felt he was being pulled in three directions. Tevarah had told him he could find who killed his family, Mace had to be dealt with for killing Voidus, and Solace wanted him to do other things. Three directions, Rashan didn't know which one to pick. He wondered if Devaan knew why the bar was in ruins, and hoped Solace wouldn't tell him. Three directions, which one to choose?
  3. Rashan jumped from feeling someone lay their hand on his shoulder. He looked to the man speaking, unsure of what he wanted them to do together. ”Do what together?”
  4. I don’t know if a prediction would really solve that issue. Lopen and I have agreed on a draw. edit: besides I have more votes
  5. Rashan was just happy it was all over. From his place in the bed, however, he gave a slight thumbs up. "Sorry for being such a cremling in the fight," he said quietly to Devaan. I am not known to stab people in the chest often and twist the blade." It was true, desperation had overcome him, though he would never admit it. "Drinks would be great though." He grinned.
  6. Rashan healed the spike wound with stormlight. Luckily, it had been a decoy, and Rashan held the real sprenbond spike in his pocket. He felt oddly satisfied he had tricked Death, but hoped that Death would respect him now enough to let him keep the spike.
  7. Rashan begged to the rat, feeding it a cracker, Edit:. Rashan takes Death's silence as a yes and slowly backs away from the rat, spike inside of him, until he gets outside of the bar.
  8. Rashan sucked in stormlight, resisting it. He knew he had to do something, fast. He stuck the spike inside of him. "Ha!" Death was too late.
  9. Rashan slapped the odd-looking rat away, keeping his spren bond spike.
  10. But if everyone gets a statue, no one gets a staue.
  11. Rashan drank, the face surrounding him, taunting him. It appeared like a crystalline reflection, a projection of light that looked like it had been reflected off of a mirror. It was clear now. Words. One word, clear as day. What was it? Rashan could swear he'd heard it. Say. The. Words. Rashan stopped. Say the words? It all made sense. Spren. That talked to him. Crazy. But... Knights Radiant had apparently had to say some words, did their spren talk to them? Was there a whole type of spren that talked? Say the words. It repeated. "I don't know them," Rashan said. "I'm no Radiant." Isn't it what that rock wanted? Yes, it was. Voidus had wanted Rashan to become a surgebinder. It was his wish. Whenever Rashan had inquired on Radiants. Voidus had said that you needed to be Broken. Emotionally. Rashan didn't think that sounded fun. But now... A spren was talking to him, telling him to say the words. Was Rashan Broken? Had he been Broke today? Had Voidus' death affected him that much? Of course it has. Look at yourself. Sitting alone, drinking. You Broke a long time ago, Rashan. You've just been trying to distract youself. "No, no! If I broke before, you should have come then! Before Voidus died!" You were a squire. That interfered. "Squires become Radiants all the time!" Not unless their of the same Order. Wait. Rashan realised something. "You're...you're not an inkspren?" You are no Elsecaller, Rashan. "No..." Say the words. No. Say the words! "I'm a murderer." What would Voidus want? That stopped Rashan. And it... was true. Rashan had forgotten the words, but he remembered them now, urged to say it. He gave in. "Life before death, Strength before weakness, Journey before destination." These words are accepted. Welcome to the Order of the Truthwatchers, Rashan. And Rashan hoped, wherever Voidus was right now, that he would be proud.
  12. Wait, so is Elephant guaranteed to be the pro-hemalurgic candidate now that there's no one to challenge him?
  13. Rashan blacked out. He didn't know why, but what he did know was that the sentience spike was missing from his hand when he woke up. A message, he guessed. Voidus must have not wanted Rashan to bring him back to life. But that meant... Voidus was dead for good. Rashan sat silently, drinking, remembering the first time he had poked Voidus. So long ago. Rashan was different now. Voidus had died. It seemed as though the world has collapsed upon itself. Rashan took another sip of his beer. And as he out it down, he noticed a face staring at him made out of the beer, smiling. Rashan blinked, and the face dispersed, rippling away in his root beer. How odd. Did Rashan hallucinate? There it was again, Rashan thought he saw a face in the wind. What would Voidus want? The face kept appearing, but Rashan dismissed it as another hallucination. He looked around solemnly. It appeared he was alone in the bar, everyone had escaped. It was an open space, and Rashan sat alone, drinking.
  14. Rashan held a spike in his hand, one Voidus had once him about. It was the spike which gave Voidus his sentience as a rock. Rashan had been told one who was stabbed with it would effectively 'pin' Voidus to their body, having two minds share one body. Rashan considered stabbing himself with the spike. Rashan wondered whether Voidus would want that, whether he wanted to come back to life. Or maybe Voidus was fine with dying. Maybe he achieved his life's purpose. Rashan considered. A spike could be a weakness. But having Voidus in his head would be a strength. Voidus was wise, far wiser than any Rashan knew, and to have him dead... Spike, or no Spike. Voidus or no Voidus Keep him alive or let him die. Rashan wished, wherever Voidus was in the afterlife, that he would at least send something, a message at least, perhaps an anonymous note or a divine messenger or something, that would tell Rashan the answer. What would Voidus want? Rashan hoped it wasn't too late for Voidus to tell him that.
  15. Not specifically, though with a spren bond you could summon your spren in any form, which is kind of like summoning an object out of nowhere.
  16. "Sorry," Rashan said, not looking back. "I did what I had to."
  17. Rashan had been so distracted by Voidus' death he'd forgotten his plan with dealing with Soul, and so the stormlight enhanced kick had been unexpected. Rashan wasn't in the mood for playing games anymore. Taking one of the spikes Vodius had died with, Rashan stabbed Soul in the back of his thigh, before taking taking the spike out and stabbing Soul again, and again. Rashan knew Soul would heal, as he hadn't given him a fatal wound. All he had done was incapacitate him with a spike which lay in his pocket. Seeing an earring lying on the floor, Rashan pocketed that too. As he head Soul groan in pain, Rashan stabbed him again in the arm for good measure. The thing was, on any other day, Rashan would be different. But when you kick Rashan Caer on the same day five people try to kill him at once, on the same day his mentor dies, on the same day he. assassinates, your bound to get a different result, a different Rashan. Rashan re-entered the bar, cracking his knuckles.
