“As long as he isn’t spiked.” Mara mumbled, though nobody heard her. The spaceship was interesting, though. She hadn’t seen anything like it. -

Mara saw a man push open the door and enter the Canton. She was tired. Another thing had happened to Max. Though he was a good fighter, she still hated the idea of someone finding out and using his weakness against him. “Welcome,” she said to the new arrival, setting down the pots she’d brought on a kitchen bench top. “Unconventional way to enter, through the door.” She noted. “We usually get newcomers from the gate.” She sat down on a worn chair. “How can I help you?” -

Max nodded, summoning the strength to walk away. Mara ran beside him. “Max! What’s up? Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?” “What if I have?” Mara seemed to understand. “The newcomers?” Max nodded. “One of them. Lifeless, I think. Don’t worry, they’re not harmful.” Mara nodded reluctantly. “Ok, I’ll see you later then?” She went off to collect the pots she’d dropped. -

Max walked out of the shade and to the newcomers - another one had arrived as well - wanting to greet them up close. If Master Sheonar had taught him one thing, it was manners. That, and how to kill people most effectively. Max held them at equal value. “So, you want to learn how to-” Max stopped mid-sentence as he looked towards both of the new people, able to see them up close now. And froze. Spikes. They were his bane, his weakness. Just one would work, but now he could see more, one on the first newcomer, upwards of about five out of the second one, popping underneath his tattered cloak. Calm, he told himself, unflinching. Be calm. He hadn’t cried about spikes in a while, but now the memories were flooding back harder than ever. Abominations, flooding the streets, with their twisted faces and sunken eyes Men and women dying, slaughtered and cut up in pieces. Screams, spikes, death. This was the worst flash yet. It got worse the more spikes he could see. “Help,” he muttered, unmoving. At that moment, Mara shot through the bronze gates, back from getting a few more pots from the market. “Max?” She said, dropping the pots. -

Max spotted the newcomer second, enetering through the shining bronze gates of the training ground, a new addition. The newcomer was wide-eyed, and didn’t look dangerous, so Max took it upon himself to greet him. “Hey!” He called from a shaded area, stopping his fighting routine with a training dummy and waving. “How’s it going?” -

[KB] Kaiju battle: Devourer vs The Deep
I think I am here. replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
The duo crashed into the water as the Devourer loosened its grip on The Deep, though not without leaving a permanent dent on its scales. As they went further and further down, the Devourer’s carapace also opened up, becoming weaker. As The Deep continued to attack a large tail came out of the side and stung The Deep, which let out a scream in agony. More poison in its bloodstream, and the super healing wasn’t enough. If The Deep wanted to fully eject the venom, it would need to stay back and heal for a while. But there was no time. Monsters needed to be took down. Trying to fight off the now constant pain all over its body, The Deep slithered over to the Devourers tail and wrapped around it. You always stretched the rules when we were young, It thought as it pulled the Devourer sharply in one direction, commanding the water to pull it in another, relying on the already breaking carapace to finally give. Let’s see how well you stretch now.- 20 replies

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
I think I am here. replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
Can I join TUBA? I, Itiah, swear to never reveal information about our organization which is deemed secret. I, Itiah, swear to never spike any baked item with any substance that should not be there I, Itiah, swear allegiance to this Guild, and give all due loyalty to it's goals and precepts Dunno if you noticed, but my new characters aren’t the biggest fans of Hemalurgy. -
2 years after the Seven Day War “You gotta do it.” Mara said, whispering into Max’s ear. “Rusts, you have to!” Max pointedly tried to ignore his sisters swearing, and took a deep breath. She couldn’t help feeling emotional about this. She hated Hemalurgy. But Max didn’t. While both him and Mara had been traumatised by the spiked horrors, they’d both manifested that trauma in different ways. Mara hated spikes. She despised their existence. Max was afraid of them. He didn’t know how, how his sister wouldn’t freeze up at the sight of Hemalurgy like he did. It had happened so many times now it was almost instinctual. “You have to, Max.” His sister repeated. “Come on” As he prepared himself, Max tried not to think about what lay behind him. He couldn’t. He couldn’t! Even now he could still sense the paralysis, the creep of fear. It was getting worse. Swiftly turning around, Max raised his arm to hit the draining dummy, and... And... He froze. Like a statue in a hallway, slightly shaking, Max could still think, he could still feel, but he couldn’t move. It was like he was being held by some invisible force, something that was sucking the life out him. He stood there for a couple minutes, frozen in place, not one pace away from the spiked dummy, mid-swing. Slowly, he began to tear up, and then cry. “Oh, Max...” Mara said, hugging him. They were only ten, they didn’t need these problems plaguing their life. Taking one last look at the dummy, Mara screamed and Pushed, taking the dummy by it’s hinges and shooting it into a wall, pieces of it flying everywhere. Another trip to the Mountain, then. But it was worth it. Max recovered from his paralysis, still looking shocked. Mara didn’t know how he felt, and wished she never would. For while Max had fear, she had fury, and that could be used.

[KB] Kaiju battle: Devourer vs The Deep
I think I am here. replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
There. A hole. The Deep scrambled to make use of the Devourer's weakness before it sucked in the energy from the spheres, powering it, and then caught The Deep's own, strengthening its death-grip, trying to crush The Deep. It wouldn't happen instantly, but The Deep had no carapace like the monster before it, and so something needed to happen. Fast. Meanwhile, the venom was still inside of The Deep, though it had diminished greatly since the original sting. Stil, however, it's effects could be felt. That was annoying. The Devourer held further, almost crushing The Deep now. Sparks. Oh, STORM you, it thought in fury as it frantically wrapped itself around the Devourer's claw, before phasing into the Spritual Place with it. Storm you all the way to damnation, beast. Master would not be proud. Time and space had no meaning in the Spiritual Place. Therefore, when The Deep phased into it, it could effectively fold the Realm to reappear anywhere else. It hadn't practised in a while, but it gave the move a shot anyway, moving with a bestial pace and instantly reentering the Physical Realm, this time high above the ocean, falling. To any onlookers, all they would see would be two monsters of unimaginable size appearing out of the clouds, battling it out in midair. As they fell, the Devourer's grip only grew tighter, and The Deep felt itself slipping. No. NO. Biting wasn't enough. Commanding the surges of Tension, Adhesion and Gravitation, it coalesced the water. All of it. A large and temporary crater formed as the water once covering it now went above, forming with the other billions of groups of water as they formed one long, reflective spike, taller than The Deep and way larger, forming a titanic circular base as it grew smaller and smaller as it grew higher and sharper until it reached its apex, a point that bore the weight of the entire spike, and a point sharper than The Deep's own fangs. Clawing each other, grappling to get the upper hand, The Deep desperately attacked the Devourer's carapace, trying to find a gap for its fangs to fit in. Trying to find a weakness among its many strengths. Monsters often had many strengths. The Deep was not a monster. Twisting and turning, The Deep finally managed to get the Devourer right where it wanted, though not under extreme stress. Right in position. Right in the line of the spike. Master would be proud, it thought as they descended, ready to take the pair back to the Physical Relam should the Devourer try to dodge by realmatic movement, holding it in place. Maybe, just maybe, it could impale it, and not suffer more injuries than it already had. -
Meanwhile, somewhere, two Kaiju were having at it. Distant rumbles could be heard, despite the fact the battle was happening far, far away, and most people thought it was just the wind. Still, it was happening.

[KB] Kaiju battle: Devourer vs The Deep
I think I am here. replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Serve the masters. Serve the masters. If it was one thing The Deep hated, it was disobedience. But it wasn't disobedient, no master, it was not. It followed instructions, and it did them well. The last time it had been unleashed, civilisations had crumbled underneath its weight. It couldn't stand for disobedience. It couldn't stand for savagery. It couldn't stand that. As the scorpion disappeared from its grip and reappeared underneath The Deep, testing it with its stings, the serpent couldn't help but feel a seething hate. An animalian, vicious, hate. Nature vs Nuture, and The Deep was leaning towards the former now. Feeling the venom course through its blood, The Deep ignored the brief stings of pain every now then as it wrapped its tail around the Devourer's, spinning around faster and faster. While they were deeper then any man had gone, it still couldn't stop a whirlpool from forming on the surface. Peaking its spin, The Deep quickly phased itself and the Devourer into the Cogntive place before throwing the beast down, hoping the impact would have an effect. Yes, yes yes. That'll teach you. The Deep wanted to convey its thoughts on how it felt about the Devourer, but all that came out was a brutal, echoing, roar. Close enough.- 20 replies

Me too. Most of our new characters are at the 20-25 year mark though, so maybe for some of us the graduation's already happened. But yeah, I'm growing more and more excited. It just seems awesome to have a completely new generation of characters who idolise the previous one. They have their own problems, and their own things to deal with all the while having what the previous generation has done as history.

[KB] Kaiju battle: Devourer vs The Deep
I think I am here. replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
The Deep was not in the mood to play. As it rushed through the vast expanse of water below it, using Gravitation to keep it under its whim, The Deep was momentarily surprised to see Devourer charging as well. Oh, how The Deep hated it! It's masters had made a mistake when they placed the two next to each other. As The Deep let out a feral scream, it speared itself forward, fangs outstretched, each one bigger taller than a tower, as it opened its jaws wider than possible, pouncing on its prey. But there was no prey. Instead, a spear of sand darted at a The Deep. Interesting, The Deep didn't know animals were smart enough to do that. Some would say The Deep was an animal too, but they were wrong. No, The Deep was a good boy. Not an animal. A good boy. Growling in annoyance, The Deep hurriedly summoned two tidal waves out of the ocean to crisscross and block the spear, though the attack was thourough and large, so even the force of dual tsunamis couldn't stop the small fragments of remaining sand (each of which was the size of a blue whale) from scratching its skin. Argh! It thought as Devourer teleported directly next to The Deep, pinching some of its skin with its claws. You want to play close-quarters, do you? Screaming a seismic roar, The Deep twisted and turned its snake body, almost completely wrapping itself around the Devourer, and squeezing. With a territorial hiss it surged itself further out of the ocean, Devourer wrapped around, until they were almost at atmospheric level. Then, with one swift movement, The Deep went downwards, smashing the Devourer at one hell of a bellyflop, making a 100 foot splash, before trying to take it downwards, to the depths. @Voidus Edited.
