Has anyone noted blood loss? First thing I saw when I was quickly scanning for accidental means murder. A small wound could count as partial, I guess. EDIT: Scratch Blood Loss, took another look at the Oracle cards. Ettmetal explosion sounds like it could work, but I’m not sure how it could fit the ‘strangers’ category, unless it was a demotion or something. Edit again: MAJOR Rand, I like your list, but considering things like smoke (and buried alive for those who think that), I’d think the Oracle would pick Suffocation more than they would ‘Accident’ per say, so I would cross that out (for now at least) When it comes to Planet, in my opinion, if the means to murder was a one not planet-specific, I believe Oracle would put ‘Other Shardworld’ as that would heavily narrow down our options. Since it has been specified it’s Sel, I think that must mean one of the Sel-specific ones, rather than a planet-neutral ones. I think Esscence Marks and Bloodsealing should be crossed out, those have shown to require quite a lot of planning, and besides, would craft a soul stamp or a blood seal for a stranger? I find the possibility of accidental Aons much higher. Yes, they still require planning, but less, and they can’t be controlled as well if you don’t have modifiers, which is never specified. So that leaves me with: Aon Ehe Aon Sheo Aon Daa Aon Sheo seems like an overall death affect, so I’m not sure if there would be any effect on a corpse. Aon Daa is energy and Aon Ehe fire, both seem like they could have a partial effect on a body (maybe part of the body is burnt or something) though I’m leaning more towards fire. So, yeah, Araris. Not an accusation, but still. I think I’ll wait for some more Oracle cards before I do that.

Itiah VII noted the smell of fear in the air as he realised fear was not a smell and his writer had just been using flowery language. He took another glance at the people surrounding him, trying to identify the archetypes around him. Writers were always trying to do something new with their characters. There was always the classic Zinc-tongued insurance guy with the fine print contracts. There was a noir, who seemed to always have Jazz playing when he was around. There was the theif, or as Itiah found he liked to call it, shiny, since that was all they cared about. If he wasn’t wrong, they’d go through some character development or something. Practically everyone was using it nowadays. And I’m another archetype, he thought. The casual fourth-wall breaker who doesn’t care about anything else. Jeez, his writer was lazy. Itiah continued along this train of thought as he took out Ichon Alchol and proceeded to chug it. If he criticised his writer, did that mean he had free will? Or did it mean his writer was merely using him to host some self-depreciating humour? Evil. (Uh huh, I’m such an evil guy for writing. Too much alcohol, dude)

Ha! Max thought. Succe- Quicker than he could react, Max tripped over Master Kane’s leg, tumbling to the floor just next to the ladder upwards. Looking back at Master Kane and back to the ladder, Max calculated his odds and scrambled up the shaft, leaving Master Kane in the tomb and Rioting his sense of laziness, so he wouldn’t chase after Max. Mara had already left, and that was the only reason he’d cone down here anyway.

Good name, but please refrain from necroing old threads. It’s generally considered bad forum-etiquette.

Itiah VII turned his head and yawned at the newcomer, proclaiming their was a murder. Great. Another plot device to get the main characters thinking. The first this day, though, if that meant anything. I wonder who the murderer is, he thought idly as he twisted his head around to get all of the detectives around him in his field of vision. Who knows, it might even be me! Knowing the kinds of twists writers these days are pulling, I wouldn’t be surprised. Itiah let the thought pass as he lazily took out a nice looking flute from his pocket, attempting the chords (if flutes even have chords idk) before realising his writer hadn’t included Flute Playing in his list of skills. Another funny thing, he noticed. I’m named after my writer’s username. It was like he was too narcissistic to let anything else slide, and too lazy to change up the name between characters. But oh well, it was the writer’s wish, and so as much as Itiah wanted to be free, he had to always grudgingly admit it was only because the writer, the real Itiah, said so. (Yup. Just about)

Max struggled as Master Kane whistled and a bird attacked his knuckles. Yelping, Max let Master Kane go. If he wasn’t mistaken, these were Aviar. Silph had a few, though they didn’t really attack Max all too often. Targeting the bird with a stark blast of fear (he was beginning to use the emotion more and more often nowadays), Max saw Master Kane pull out a gun. Trying to duck, Max brought his staff around and attempted to hit the pistol out of the man’s grip. @Mudkipspren

Long Game 48: The Terris Synod
I think I am here. replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Huh, those are good points. Thanks! I can wholeheartedly agree that the method works, if there was a single person who I unequivocally thought was village in this game, it was you . You can imagine my face when I saw your death! If you don’t mind me asking, when you’re an elim, and you have to help the village to take suspicion off of you, how do you decide what to do? Most of your helping-village posts seem to be actually helping the village. How do you do that without giving away too much?- 378 replies

Controversial Cosmere thoughts
I think I am here. replied to Matias's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I wanted Spook to eventually become a big bad guy in HoA, like descend into evil and whatnot, where the characters have to eventually kill him. I would have been totally fine with him giving in to Ruin and spiking Beldre, growing more powerful. I thought his redemption was kinda forced. Reading and re-reading HoA as well as Era 2 books and though the opinion has shifted slightly, I still think having Spook become a bad guy would have been sweet. I remember whispering to my book (totally not weird) to Spook: “Yes, yes, give in to the dark side!” This is coming from someone who’s favourite MB character is Spook, by the way. -

Yeah! Fun game everyone! I mean, at least I learned a new experience while playing, when everyone thinks you’re evil and you’re not. I still have no idea what to in that scenario, but eh, I’m sure I’ll come up with something- 378 replies

Nice! I’ve always wanted to create a veteran character! Lirion, languageteacher of the 4th ideal, has been for a while now. Is having trouble with the fifth. 47 years old Male Personality: Classic old guy, has been stuck on 4th ideal for 30 years now. Sometimes wishes he was another order. Has a cane, doesn’t need it. Spren: Hsiz, come as a little green lowercase ‘o’.

Mara saw Master Kane lash Max, and hurriedly nodded to Siplhio as she tried exiting. “I’ll talk to him,” she called back as she escaped, tapping for steel and leaping off of a single coin far into the clouds. *** Max charged, but was quickly blocked as Master Kane lashed him to a far wall. Oh, no you don’t, he thought as he brought a hand around each end of his staff and hooked the main body around Master Kane’s neck, sending them both tumbling towards the wall. From the corner of his eye, he saw Mara leave. Rust. @Mudkipspren

Mara saw the back wall change into air as she nodded to Master Kane, the two attempting to escape before the wall keeping Max broke prematurely. *** Max felt at the stone wall, faintly hearing the two leave. He turned and nodded to Silph, who charged and broke through the wall. Seeing Mara and Master Kane running away, Max charged with his staff, swinging it at the old Master. @Mudkipspren

Max flinched as a stone wall appeared in front of him, almost touching his nose. Frowning, he realised he could do nothing to remove it. He had no soulcaster, no explosives, no Shardplate. The only thing Max could do was Riot. Feeling out one of his smaller metalminds, Max concentrated, targeting Kane and blasting him with the want to be free, to remove this pesky wall and get out of here. *** Mara saw the wall appear, and a new thought came into her head. “Hey,” she asked Kane, “If your keeping that wall there, how are we going to get out?” @BitBitio

Taking out his staff and twirling it around his hands, Max struck it into the ground. It wasn’t exactly an offensive move, but it indicated he wasn’t moving. “I won’t pull the first punch, Master Kane,” he said, stalking forward, resisting the constant push on his metalminds, increasing his Allomancy. “But I sure as rust will pull the last.” @BitBitio

Max took another step forward, eyeing Master Kane, and looking at Mara behind him. He tried to convey his apology through his eyes, but it didn't seem to work, Mara staying behind Master Kane. Max thought about Rioting her trust, but quickly decided against it. He'd gotten in this mess through his emotional Allomancy, he wasn't going to use it to get out. But Master Kane. Max didn't know his exact powers, but everyone he'd seen called him "extremely determined". Tapping a reserve of zinc in his nicrosilmind, Max enhanced his Rioting, targeting and enflaming Trust and Agreement in the old master. "Please, Master Kane," he begged, "Siblings have fights. They apologise afterwards. I just want to make it up to Mara. Please." He cursed mentally at himself for being so cavalier, for being so casual with his zinc. Even now, he could see the flame of dpfear in his sisters eyes. *** Mara stayed behind Master Kane, desperately trying to Push Max away by his metalminds. They were heavily filled, however, so even with double her normal power she wasn't able to Push on Max beyond a shove, meaning he could still step forward, even if it was slightly more difficult. And there was no way she was going to supertap. With such a burst of steel, she would be lucky if Max didn't break all of his bones. At least she was more careful with how she supertapped. Max stepped forward, and Mara felt another moment of being terrified as she remembered what she'd seen, what she'd seen would become of Max. She needed to stop it. She needed to stop her brother from becoming that monster she'd seen. She needed to stop Hemalurgy. The Ghostbloods.

Mara flinched at the hand on her shoulder, then turned to see it was Kane. Apparently, the man had been active in the war as well, a war hero in today's time. How he knew she was here, Mara didn't know, but she accepted the comfort. Wiping away the last of her tears before asking Kane a question. "Did you know Rashan? Really?" She was tired of all the priests who said he was a great fighter, all the citizens comforting her by saying how good he was, she figured that if there was one person who could tell her truthfully about Rashan, good and bad, it was either Master Sheonar, or the man in front of her. *** Max dropped the last two rungs of the ladder, landing on the cold stone with a clap. Taking a step forwards he saw Master Kane and Mara near Rashan's tomb. Before he could say anything Mara was hiding behind Kane, and Max could feel a small push on his nicrosilminds. Still he edged forward. "Mara," he said, genuinely worried. "Please. I'm sorry."

"Oh," Max said, letting go of Silph and heading towards the twisting ladder that led to the tomb. He'd never liked that cramped, ancient place. Turning around, he replied to his question. "I went too far." With that he climbed down the stairs, unable to take the shortcut any coinshot would have.

Max bursted through the Hall of Legends, eyes wide. He saw a crowd of people above here. Looking, he saw Silph walking around. Ignoring the twinge of anxiety he felt looking at the spike, Max ran over to the man. “Silph!” He said, grabbing him by the shirt. “Do you know where Mara is? I’ve been looking all over, and I need tosay sorry. I’ve made a terrible mistake.”
-
Mara saw Silph leave, and took a seat on the cold stone ground of the tomb. All around her, decaying coffins, except for the one ahead of her, the one made in memory of Rashan. It looked brand new. Resting a hand on top of the grave, Mara wondered whether to open it. But she knew all she would find would be fake bones. “You should have let us die,” she whispered to the tomb. If Rashan hadn’t saved her and Max, he would have been alive. The world would have had the war-hero, not the two orphans with mental problems. “Why?” She asked. But no one heard. “Why?” She was still shaking. Shaking from what she saw, from what she’d thought would become of Max. Taking a deep breath, Mara wept on top of the tomb.
