Autonomy was clearly in action on Scadrial well before the events of WaT. Knowing that, I think Autonomy had no intention of calling quits just because Retribution came into existence. Hoid was on Scadrial during AoL and was the Ladrian coachman during SoS. Considering this, the events of WaT had to have happened at latest, just a bit before SoS. Possibly even before AoL, but maybe he went to that wedding during the the time skip between OB and RoW.

That would be fun, we already know that there are more than 16 metals that influence Investiture so that seems possible

I suspect that Valor is actually the "Survival Shard" it would make for an interesting foil on what people would expect of them. As for if there is another Shard on Roshar, it would feel like Reason would be likely to me. Especially if Nohadon is an avatar of Reason like some suspect

A grouping set without too much thought on which Dawnshard Shards pertaining to oneself- Odium, Whimsy, Reason, Ambition Shards pertaining to others - Valor, Honor, Devotion, Mercy Shards pertaining to taking things and creating or improving- Virtuosity, Cultivation, Endowment, Invention Shards pertaining to the relationship between oneself and the world- Preservation, Ruin, Autonomy, Dominion Still clunky, particularly with Autonomy and Dominion and not inherently meant to be aligned with Dawnshards, but I was thinking about the Change Dawnshard and that it's not just about change but seemingly about positive change and Virtuosity, Cultivation, Endowment, and Invention came to mind as the most likely

Based on negotiations, I'm assuming that some countries will remain human controlled. Also with Iri being abandoned, that can effectively become another Singer capital as well.

The Shards Have Only Themselves To Blame

Ah, I misunderstood as well. -
The Shards Have Only Themselves To Blame

Point, we don't know that Cultivation predicted the whole chain of events. If anything, the book was trying to show that her plan didn't happen the way she wanted it to -
The Shards Have Only Themselves To Blame
StanLemon replied to StanLemon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Perhaps, but at the same the argument could simply be said that the plan for Nightblood to be on Roshar was just to have Odium's vessel change hands. It seemed a lot of this book was trying to show that the plans to deal with Odium ultimately backfired. -
We don't really see any Cosmere aware characters in the first 3 Era 2 books, even the Kandra aren't particularly Cosmere aware. And by TLM, it's a little bit of old news being 10 years old. But we do still get references to it, like MeLaan helping Horneaters for instance. Edit: Also this line from TLM "That’s four primary systems we can’t visit without extreme danger, if you count Roshar."

Yep, that's the implication

While I'm sure that's a big part of it, it also makes sense in the context of the story. Dalinar needed to Connect with Honor and the visions was how Cultivation planned to do it.
-
It might be a bit of a stretch, but I feel like Honor could fit under it
-
Preservation feels like it would comfortably be under Exist

I'm sure a few like Endowment will self righteously blame Hoid for this new threat, but ultimately they only have themselves to blame. They could have worked together to get rid of Odium and the threat it represented. But at the end of the day they chose to turn a blind eye to it, content to believe that Odium would stay contained.

So now we know the second Dawnshard. Makes a lot of sense why it grants a healing ability and makes causing harm a challenge. What are your thoughts?
-
It's almost certainly Hemalurgy adjacent, bet the crystals even use bind points.
-
I think there is an explanation to be had. It very well could have been that Odium revived him early to be used as a test subject to show the Fuzed that the new weapon works, but that El took it upon himself to do said test. Once confirmed, he went to the vault and this scene played out. Afterwards, El has his musings.

Interludes don't necessarily have to take place on the same day. It's entirely possible that they had this conversation on day one

So much for Mraize's boast of "most powerful organization in the Cosmere"

I am curious about the Inkspren. The only corrupted ones we've maybe seen are the Oathgate spren. We learned in RoW that bonding a human is even more looked down on among them than it is even for Honorspren, so does the corruption make them more willing to bond humans or are the ones more willing to bond humans easier to corrupt

Assuming she's an Elsecaller. Considering Lieke was the one helping the other Ghostbloods escape and lingered to wait for Mraize and Iyatil. He may very well be the one capable of Elsecalling
-
Iyatil was able to track the real Shallan. Luck? Skill? Bronze?

I've got to say though, it's nice to have this discussion outside a VS thread. Thanks @therunner for starting it. Another reason I prefer the adrenaline like hypothesis is I find it to just be a more interesting explanation personally.
-
This phenomenon actually happens when people have a lot of oxygen flow in their muscles. A common thing that happens to people post adrenaline high or post weightlifting is a sensation that things don't weigh as much as normal. Not necessarily. First of all, Stormlight healing is quick, so it probably takes less than a second to heal micro tears in the muscles. And we know that Stormlight healing makes the pain go away as it's healed. This leads to my second point. Other than initial the burn of exertion, most people don't really feel the pain from muscle exertion until well after. That's why it's so common that people are sore the day after a workout. With the near instantaneous healing from Stormlight there wouldn't be much in the way of pain. Even if a Surgebinder runs out of Stormlight, they likely have already had the strained muscles healed Edit: Not to say you don't have a lot of good arguments, it's just that based on character comments and the adrenaline like nature of Stormlight, it seems to me that it's not a supernatural increase in strength but just Stormlight's ability to push the body to it's limits and keep it there.
-
I've long felt that Stormlight enhancements to strength are presented more like adrenaline. It pushes the body to the maximum strength that it can output constantly and that the problems that come with that normally are instantly healed by the Stormlight allowing 100% of your strength 100% of the time as long as you have Stormlight to burn. That would seem supernatural compared to what people naturally would expect.
