Or one person could control an entire faction that doesn't make many moves. Maybe the faction would be expanded if it became relevant. Proposal: Sector 3: No one knows who controls sector 3. This sector is responsible for the running water and electricity in the city, which shouldn't work, considering the time zones. People live in sector 3, and it has a reasonable policing force, but no one (at least none of you unless you create a character in this sector) knows who runs it. There has been many speculations about this ruler, and it is speculated that the Epic's weakness is crowds, hence the secrecy. I would take control of this sector, and they wouldn't do much at first/at all so it doesn't really need to be fleshed out. Thoughts? EDIT: Also, like I have said, if you zoom in to the thing that says n/w Edmonton on the map, you will see a place labeled "Steel-Craft". I don't know what this is, but it's Nicroburst's

They might join Voidgaze, but not necessarily. Also, I think we should go back to the crisis meeting idea. Here's a summary of the factions except the orbit and the vanillas, because I don't know if they control a sector or not. Factions: Sector controllers: 1: Epoch. A time manipulation Epic responsible for the borders. He charges a toll to pass through. Though he is not strong at combat, the other sectors tollerate him because of the convenience of his powers and the fact that he could wreak havok on the system they have set up. His faction has more authority outside of its territory than the other factions. Public Visibility: 10 2: Unknown Public Visibility: 10 3: Unknown Public Visibility: 10 4: Unknown Public Visibility: 10 5: Phyotomagnet. A plant manipulation Epic responsible for supplying food. The other sectors would not be able to support themselves for long if Phyotomagnet withdrew his support. Parts of this sector are under a moderate time-boost. Public Visibility: 10 Minor groups: The MEC (minor Epic coalition) is a group of less powerful Epics united under one banner. Following the footsteps of their Oregonian brethren (the MEE/Minor Epic Empire), these demi-humans seek to make the public respect all superhumans, high Epic or not, at any cost. Public Visibility: 6 A Reckoners squad has been sighted in the area! What could they want? Besides dead Epics… Public Visibility: 1 A High Epic, Voidgaze, and a support unit recently entered the city. She is rumored to have been in Oregon when the “great disaster” happened. Public Visibility: 5 Nicroburst, an Enhancer Epic with a twist, is currently holing out in east Edmonton. His location is wanted by multiple parties, but they are moving discreetly. Public Visibility: 3 Armageddon, an Epic who is convinced that the world must be destroyed, arrived about the same time as Voidgaze. He has already converted a large group of people to his cause, though fortunately no Epics yet. Public Visibility: 8

Actually, I think I should add to the existing factions present at the city when the Oregoners arrive. Sorry Edgedancer!
-
Portland was amazing. I would pay money to see it continued.
-
Voidus, as the master of minor Epics, what say you on my newest idea?
-
Just finished Portland. It was really good. Oh and I used RNG to determine who to work for, and I got..... Voidgaze! Yay! My character will probably not start with Voidgaze, but will end up with her unless Edgedancer decides otherwise.
-
That was kind of what I was thinking, but less powerful.
-
What do you guys think of a minor Epic who's only power is being absurdly attractive? They would be really screwed if they ran across a Nighthound-esque Epic. Minor Epics are fun. Oh, and Edgedancer, 10/10 for Nighthound. I don't know why everyone hates him. He is beautifully written and is one of my favorite Epics.
-
Nicroburst might end up joining the MEC.
-
Also, who wants me to have a character working for them? Next person to say yes gets them, and to choose what kind of Epic they will be. Guys, I have to say, I've been reading through the What Happened In Portland thread, and I have to say, your RP is INSANE! Especially Voidus, Edgedancer, TwilightSansSparkles, and Kobold King.
-
By the way, my character's weakness needs people to give at least some detail about their character. Also, when are we starting?
-
I mean, Nicro won't kill you IMMEDIATELY if you come to his place... so that could be cool. The Epic killing thing is like a hobby for him. A very dangerous hobby.
-
Thanks for the map! If you zoom in on the thing that says "East Edmonton" you will see a place entitled "Steel-Craft." That is where my character will be hiding out.
-
The spiritual realm is not location-based, so that is probably accurate.
-
Blue and red might be better, as particles slow down when we get colder and speed up when we get hotter, which red and blue represent. Wait, maybe the mists can be affected by weather patterns to some extent, so we could have weather/time forecasts. Also, when are we going to start?
-
He's a bad Epic killer. And you'll see. Maybe.
-
Nice to mee- Oops! Didn't mean to blow your hand off!
-
Sure. Though it could lead to some funny scenarios if someone is pretending to be a maple...
-
He can enhance active powers on contact. The strength of the enhancement is variable. The stronger the enhancement, the higher the cost. Imagine that Epics were like Feruchemists with metalminds that slowly regenerated. Normally, they are fixed to drawing out the power at the rate it regenerates, but Nicroburst can increase the rate they draw apon their power. This will turn off their power for a time afterwards as their power "regenerates", depending on how long he boosted them, how strong the power was originally, and how strongly he enhanced it. So basically he can Nicroburst other Epics.
-
Because I'm considering making my character's ability automatic. He would wear gloves most of the time, but he would go barefoot so he could kick people. Or should it not require skin-to-skin contact?
-
So basically you need a good chess player to challenge Borrower, which he will agreee to, and then beat him, then shoot him. I really hope my character doesn't challenge Borrower thinking he's a different type of Epic, then boost him, and start the feedback loop .
