bondsmith [OB] Who would u like to see as the final 2 Bondsmith
Magpro replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think the one the pattern we are missing is that Bondsmith bind things, and they bring people together. Just like windrunner help people. Even before Kaladin said his oaths, he had the tendency to save people. and Shallan to hide and embelish. Similarly Dalanar was a leader, and brought people together. For this reason, i think Rock and Rlain are my best gusses. Rock as he brings people together by his listning to others and food/stew even though Kaladin originally had the idea. Rlain because i feel he is going to find the missing singers/listners and bring them together and bring them towards team Dalinar. Venli is somehow going to be part of this too. -

She could have been planned as a view point character to supprt Dalinar or Jasnah history. In the current nerative i don't see her achieving something. Adolin has potential but not as bondsmith. I think the most he is going to do is maybe re-awaken his blade, and may become radiant that way. I feel re-awaken blades/deadeyes will be a major part of the Arc 2 of the series. Also there is whole cache of lost shard blades and shard plate i.e. there being thousands of radiants before but only a hundred or so shardblades around now. I think this re-awakening will provide a weakened Nahel Bond with not all the powers of the radiants but a subset. -
When Humans came to Roshar, they initially settled in Shinovar. Due to human ambition some faction left Shinovar and started conquring other parts of Roshar. I believe there was a first major war. Odium probably saw his chance to incite the singers's Dead Leaders and created fused. I don't think they had void binding at the time, and this started the first desolations. Either during or at the end of first desolation Oathpact was formed, to keep the fused in Braise. Oathpact created the Heralds. Radiants didn't come for many desolation later when spren started mimicing the honor blades. Also Dawnshards were used to destroy Tranquiline Halls (Ashyn). This is stated by Stormfather in Chapter 113 of Oathbringer

I believe there are two main candidates for Bondsmits, Rock and Rlain. Navani, i fear is too close to Dalanar to be a viable option. Mr T can be a good option has he has been heavily interfered by cultivation but unlikely as he currently suffers from Nightwatchers Curse/Boon. Rock wishes to go back to Horneater Peaks to fix the issue there. Thats where cultivation's perpendicularity. So in order to fix it Rock may need to bond the Nightwatcher or Sibling. However i think he is more matched to bond the Sibling than Nightwatcher, as the Spren of Stone, and mountains being of stone & Rock's Name "Rock". Rlain on the other hand is linked to singers, and the life on Roshar and Spren, He can hear the songs of nature. I feel he is a better match for Nightwatcher. I don't see anyother character destined for greatness, who has not started on its path, Rock has started absorbing stormlight, but does not have a spren, so could go either way. Rock has not been shown manifesting windrunner powers either. Rlain is just being held back in the nerrative with a feeling that something big is going to happen to him. Navani, is just being Navani, and i don't see any evidence she is going to achieve any more, she is a support character, and i don't expect her to be a primary character. -
I don't believe the Oathpact will be re-formed as oathpact is currently useless even if it is not broken. The fused don't go back to Braise, so Oathpact can't keep them there. I feel the end of Arc 1 will see the oathpact totally broken, and either all the heralds die, killed or voluntary move on to aftelife. Arc 1 will probably see the conflict with the Parshendi concluded. Arc 2 will continue from Arc 1 but will be a different story line, probably take the fight to a Roshar System Level / Shard level. It may see a new shard formed, which will be defeat Odium at end of Arc 2. This could very well be a combination of Honor and Cultivation or re-forming of just Honor with a new Vessel. I am not sure if it will be Dalinar, I have a feeling it might be Rock.

Out of all the orders, There are some orders which are militarilistic. i.e Windrunners, Skybreakers, Dustbringers, and Stonewards. I believe these had the highest numbers about 200 to 300 each. At any time there is only one Bondsmith, So i believe the remaining orders had roughly 100 each. So i think in total there were around 1500 radiants.

Maybe, but i think this act of Moash was more to remove the threat of Heralds being reinstated. I think throught the entire 10 books, we are going to see all the heralds die. Some killed and the remaining giving up the investiture in the end and going to the afterlife.

I think it is linked to jezrien's Blade. I believe that all the Honor Blades are still linked to the Heralds, and if they wish can summon them back. If they do, they will bring back their Sanity. Odium wanted to remove that, hence remove the investure/bond from the Heralds. As that is the thing also keeping them in this world, when the investure was removed, it allowed Jezrien to truly die.

Seth also needed 10 heartbeats to summon the honor blade. Read the Way of Kings Prologue.

The Reason i think Taln is not going to be Odium's Champion, is that was happy that the other Heralds betrayed him, as he had never broken before, and gave humanity time to progress. Even if he does switch, other Heralds betraying him will not be the reason. I don't see any other reason. I see Moash as being set up as a backup champion if Dalinar failed(which he did), but am not sure as a lot of the story is still left, and it can go any other way. The only other people who could possible be the champion is either Rlain, Renarin or Adolin, all three are good and liked and don't get much screen time, and we don't know if Odium is influencing them or not. I doubt its going to be anyone else on the bridge 4. Shallan vs Adolin clash could be very emotional, and that is the only reason i feel there is chance Adolin could be the champion. There could also be something due to Renarin's future being dark.

[OB] Do you think Jasnah likes Kaladin?
Magpro replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree. They will be working together now that she is the Queen and he will be responsible for the King/Queesn's Guard. I believe they will develop a friendship/respect (next book), and maybe relationship over a long time (era 2) although i won't bet on it. There could very easily be new character introduced which will become the romantic interest for Kaladin. -
[OB]What's up with the Nightwatcher? [spoilers]
Magpro replied to Narcoleptic Axolotl's topic in Stormlight Archive
I personally think there are more than 10 original major splinters (GigaSpren) of Adolnaslium, 9 unmade, Stormfather, Nightwatcher, Sibling make 12. As Roshar was invested way before Honor or Cultivation came, so 10 may not be original number of the planet, just what Honor and Cultivation influenced once they arrived. There could sitll be more major splinters out ther, which we have not been told about. We got told of the sibling only in relation to Bondsmiths. Others may come forward as other Radiant Orders are discussed. -
I think Herald bond is permanant to the Honor Blade, and for this reason, it forms a shallow bond with everyon else. I read mentioning that Heralds let their bladed be borrowed.

Dawnshards were used to destroy Tranquiline Halls (Ashyn). This is stated by Stormfather in Chapter 113.
