Szeth - A Shard's champion(Probably Cultivations)
Invocation replied to CleverCremling's topic in Stormlight Archive
I honestly think it was just his spren. He was cast out and labelled Truthless for something involving his suspicions of the return of the Knights Radiant and his highspren is very wary around him. That's why he had such a crisis when Kaladin revealed himself as a Radiant in their fight. He probably just did what Shallan did. -
RIP theory. We've all been there.

You'd be surprised what I can do with any five magics. As long as you're fine with me being the absolute most annoying person in the RP with my magic choices, I'm down to join.

Lance threw up a speed bubble and lunged for the cane, wrapping his fingers around it and dispelling the bubble just in time to whack the guard Rudo had tackled across the head with a sickening crack. Lance winced. "I hope that didn't kill him. This is not the quality of person I like to add to my body count for. You ready to get out of here, mate?"

You really don't want me hopping into this or I'll destroy everything. And then some.

I was gonna say they could harvest the ash/smog stuff below them (clearly it's heavy enough you could draw it up in airtight buckets and not lose much if they can float about it) but it appears you already had that idea. Could always take advantage of the peculiar time effects of ley lines to regenerate resources faster, or take from the future while sending that section back to before they harvested it using the line's energy. Condensed ley line energy gems for a mass gain maybe, or just for being sold as fuel or something. If you want to go macabre with it, you could say they transmute everyone and everything that dies on the island. That's a lot of resources right there every time someone dies (and provides an interesting use for a government assassin department whenever things run low).

"It's not a matter of where, and the mere fact you think there's only one location they're hiding means your brain is worth less than a single flake of rusted copper in the hands of an Aluminum Gnat," Lance spat. These amateurs. "It's a matter more of when than of where and if you bothered to think for a single second, you'd be able to figure both halves out. Or are your spies so useless you can't get a single bit of information about the structure of the Farriers?"

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
Invocation replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
Just for the record, I didn't leave to join the DA. That was a separate character and the two choices had no influence on each other. I left for other reasons. -
Fair enough.
-
Like people could weigh in on where a certain character might fit in for the current plots of the various threads based on what happens there, and then the person who made the character can choose if that's actually what they want to do or not, and along the way, people can figure out if the character is actually what they want it to be or not.
-
Maybe semi-canon. Is that a thing? Like non-canon as far as the characters are aware, but it could also help people find a thread for their character to be first introduced into.
-
That was a similar thing to I was thinking of. I was thinking a separate thread entirely for the OP characters.
-
Ah. Yes, it would be a little different, kind of like a waiting room where people can interact with other characters/have an example scene for their character showcasing the voice, the weakness, and their powers. Could also be good for OP characters, so people know how they'd interact better.
-
Like a tiny interaction space, self-contained and with only a minimal plot. I have no idea what the CDS thread was, that's from before my time, but from what you say of it, yeah pretty much like that. That's also a thing linked to this idea. You can see how the weakness would actually play out and if it would actually work and be RPed accurately or not. Yeah, the tavern threads are pretty close to it. Also, as a side note: this is mostly @ZincAboutIt's idea, I just posted it.
-
Speaking on improvements that could be made to character stuff, what do y'all think about a thread to establish a character voice and find a reliable way to RP weaknesses before actually introducing them into the wider AV?
-
"You think you know me. Trust me, you don't know me. You'd know it was a mistake to give me any context to this cell if you actually knew me. But fine, you want me to come with you? I'll come. When I'm standing outside this place you'll know how much of a mistake it was," Lance said, shoving every bit of sneer and arrogance into his voice that he could.
-
@MacThorstenson/@Voidus I figure one of y'all has an answer for this. How many points off would severe amnesia rate? Like amnesia being they only remember their name and base functions.

Think of the Stormlight efficiency you'd get off of that.

Lance spat at the man. "Take the other guy. I know a grand total of nothin' about the parlor situation. Half of them there hate me anyways."
-
Lance, upon realizing he was in the process of being drugged, tapped determination in an attempt to offset the effects, failing miserably, before keeling over as his vision went dark.
-
Lance thought about asking who Bob was, but thought better of it. No time for that. "You're right, they probably won't delay us too much. Let's get onto it, then," he said, striding along the path laid by the tracks. @Emperor Stick
-
Lance popped his head out from a roof a little ways ahead. "Found something, eh? I'll be down shortly!" he called, making the requisite leaps back and down with careful Pulls. "So. What's the odds of this being a trap? After all, it's like they laid out the welcome mat."

Secret History Question (spoiler for Oathbringer)
Invocation replied to John Wayne's question in Cosmere Q&A
I'm pretty sure that's just the whole "eyes to the spirit" thing manifesting like the glowing metal. Since it's Hoid's physical body the representation of Investiture gateways stays the same, with the glow. Unnoticeable in most people, but Hoid is full to bursting with the stuff, so no doubt it leaks out.
