How does Adien know the step count to the docks?
Invocation replied to Koloss17's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Honk -
Koala was one.

"That...sounds complicated. Maybe it'll work. It's worth a chance." Zerameth cracked his knuckles. "What do I have to do?"

"Zerameth. Zerameth Adovani. That's...the only thing I know about myself. What do you mean an alternative?" Zerameth didn't spare a glance for Aln talking to the wall. He, apparently, saw things that weren't there. Why wouldn't she?

Welcome to the Shard! Shameless plug for our RP section the Alleyverse: come join us! We have fun!
-
I mean yeah but I took that to mean directly.
-
Probably not, since most of the Spiritweb is gone and subbed for the Breath used. Also probably not, but more of a chance of that than of the Lifeless keeping powers. You pay someone and they transfer the Breath to you, presumably. Vasher probably could, since he knows the key to partitioning Breath. Most others...cannot. I think anyone could control them if they didn't have one, so not really but also kind of.
-
"I -" Zerameth broke off, not sure if he should be admitting something like this to someone he just met, but doing it all the same - "I can't read. So I don't think I can write either."

Yep! Walin got this WOB after a while of people trying to confirmation on that from the theories.
-
Yep. With a release date out, he's really pushing. I still can't believe he managed to push out 19k words in less than a day to cap off the first draft.
-
I don't think he'd want to do that even if he could. Nightblood can be useful.
-
This thought is...vaguely horrifying, but it needs to be asked. Can Harmony use the Connection that Nightblood's chunk of Ruinous Investiture to supercharge the sword? Or could he reach out and chuck Investiture into him like he's just the cosmere's magical garbage disposal?
-
I'm hoping it'll be something like refractionspren.
-
I think we likely will thanks to the hints about where Rlain went and the other hints about the group Parshendi that ran off before the mass Stormform transformation.
-
They spent time in mateform to experience all the forms, but I'm not sure if they would have stayed there long enough to bear a child to term, especially Eshonai.
-
Odds are, he's still going to occupy Kharbranth. He did it with Kholinar, and he'd likely send the humans outside the city. No longer would they be born into Kharbranth. Odium came out on top for that deal, and that's probably part of it. Taravangian will have one of his days and realize his mistake then throw himself entirely behind Dalinar because he realizes his mistake.

The sky was shot through by a lattice of white for a second, and energy seemed to flow around Zerameth as he lay on the rocky ground, oddly unfamiliar where the rest of the experience was just out of reach of familiarity and seemingly unrelated to his head rebounding on the kick. The other man snorted, face a raw cliff of disgust. It hurt him inside to see that, for some reason. Made his breath hitch, and the next was ragged. "Your brother was already a master of the basic forms when he was your age. You should at least know how to get back up after falling over. "Maybe someday." As he walked away, Zerameth caught the words the other man muttered at the edge of hearing: "Always knew that runt would be a disappointment." That, too, made his chest hurt. But he didn't know why. Zerameth tottered to his feet, unstable but there, and ambled the opposite direction of the scarred man. He'd had enough of that for one day. Muscle memory guided him to a corner in the garden that was draped over by vines and where he could rest in peace. His little corner of the Tranquiline Halls there. The only refuse he had. But when he reached that, there was only dirt. That hurt worse than any words could. He curled up there and wept. ========================= Back in the library, Zerameth lay on the floor, the transition from a humid rot to the dry book smells jarring. Even here, he wept. He didn't know why, didn't understand what made those emotions, but tears still streaked his face and roughed his voice. "What - what was that? Could you see that?" @Rushu42

His eye twitched again. "Seen? No. Not exactly seen. Heard, though? Yes. Yes very much." Twitch. His fingers flicked this time, hand flexing in concert behind his back; a gesture that felt both familiar and newly different. Isn't there anything I can do? Why can't I know who I am? His heartbeat sped up, thundering in his ears with a sound like a vaguely familiar seaside crash why a sea what's a sea where's a sea and his began to static over. He lurched forward, falling out of the chair. "Somethings...wrong," he muttered, lips numb and tongue unwilling. Something's...very wrong. ============ Zerameth was overwhelmed by his senses. A harsh, grating voice. Wet, rotting smells. Hard stone beneath him. All of it new. All of it fresh. But all of it somehow familiar. The voice again, nasally and irritatingly harsh, accompanied by a kick in the ribs. "When I tell you to get up, son, you get up. Now." Another kick. He scrambled up, sunlight momentarily blinding him. Once he'd adjusted, he had a few moments of sight - flashes of a scarred man in red clothes and boots - before one of said boots made contact with his chin and sent him sprawling across the ground. "Next time be faster." @Rushu42

Which Rosharan country would you want to live in?
Invocation replied to The Kraken's Daughter's topic in Stormlight Archive
I didn't think about that idea. If only I wasn't well below Alethi height average. PEASANT /s -
Hi my name is Luke and I'm addicted to the cosmere
Invocation replied to OriginalHuman's topic in Introduce Yourself!
That's a solid selection! Arcanum Unbounded is great especially since you get a bunch of mini-stories, lore, and star-charts all for the price of one! Also I'm a sucker for Mistborn but I understand the hesitance given that you said you tried it once before. -

Reshi Islands or the Purelake for me. Being able to just mess around in the water in everyday life would be a dream come true, impending apocalypse of ancestral hatred or no. -

Absolutely! (The only reason I asked was because some people lurk for a while before joining [including me] so I didn't want to just go for the breakdown.) There's a bunch of links at the top of the pages, and while they're pretty self-explanatory once you've made it through all of the cosmere, some need some background. Shardcast, for example, is a podcast that pretty much just talks Sanderson. Arcanum is the location of all the extra information we've been able to get out of Brandon at his signings and Reddit/Facebook/Youtube Q&As, as well as his own breakdowns on certain things. Coppermind is the Sanderson wiki. The rest of the Shard is broken up into various groupings, like general Shard stuff at the top, then information about Sanderson and his next/previous signing and spottings, then there's the Cosmere section where the main traffic happens (divided into series categories. Be careful around that, since there's no mandatory spoiler warnings in effect at the moment in there) and where you can get a copy of the unpublished Aether of Night (which despite how rough it is, is still pretty good), and the non-cosmere section right down at the bottom of most of the trafficked areas, though there are two sections below that. Those two sections at the bottom are the Related Works for Sanderson's Writing and Reading Excuses podcasts he was/maybe still is (I have no idea) involved with. Below that is the Community section, which is pretty much a sorting category for everything miscellaneous and includes an RP environment (obligatory plug, I'm involved with the Alleyverse RP and it's pretty fun. I highly encourage you to join that once you get some more of the cosmere under your belt) and things like Forum Games (there's a Puzzlehunt game that you may be interested in if you like that kind of stuff, but again: probably should get a few more cosmere books under your belt first). That's about everything. If you want me to explain anything in more detail or have any questions, you can quote that section of the message by highlighting it or hitting the quote button at the bottom of the post to quote the whole thing and I'll get a notification off of that. Also, before I forget, the little yellow/orange upvote thing is reputation points. You have 20 of those to give out per day and the label that's under your profile picture will change and rank up the more you get. Here's official site rules if you're concerned about that as well: Sorry about the wall of text!
