I wondered how long it would take this theory to come back up. It does seem very likely that they've migrated through most of the planets in the cosmere over time (and may be the Ones Above on Patji).

Fair, but both of those...they just sound strange.

Shallan's Childhood Secret (Theory Time!)
Invocation replied to Harfyn's topic in Stormlight Archive
I hope her initializing event will be direct contact with the Unmade that was hazing them. Kind of like what happened with the Midnight Mother, only before she could counter it. Some instant of seeing/touching/feeling something so alien to anything she knows that her brain locks stuff away and forces the creation of an alter just to have something to hide behind. Would that be too Lovecraft? -
Eh. Tin being pronounced in a semi-French accent just sounds like tin with a lot of phlegm behind it. Not like Hoid, which would end up being pronounced like Wad, more or less, which...uh...yeah that's strange.

More than likely! There's been a few theories about it relating to (stormlight spoilers)

That's why I think he was a pure-Investiture being. There was some form of weapon involved, which could have easily been aluminum or aluminum-lined (the only WOB on that got RAFO'd), but other than that, I can't imagine how they'd have killed a deity like Ado.
-
Not on the Thug or Tineye, but it comes from the effect on the Seeker, so it's kind of grey whether it's actually a meta thing that exists only because Brandon needed a way to explain the classifications or something that would have developed naturally.

I have this WOB in my folder of WOBs haha. I have to reference it so often, I figured I'd keep it around.

The Push/Pull thing was based on the bronze-pulsing. Pewter's pulses seem to beat against the Seeker burning, while Tin's seem to pull on the Seeker. Page 336 on my copy, where Marsh is training Vin in bronze:

I'm not 100% sure Adonalsium wasn't just a massive coalescing of Investiture that gained sapience on its own over time. Even if you put all the Shards back in their place and sealed it with Spiritual Connection, that same consciousness wouldn't be returned to life. You'd have to leave it alone for several millennia for it to manifest something, all time in which none of the magic systems that the various peoples of the cosmere rely on would work, and that's not even saying anything about what may evolve from it. For all we know, Big A was benevolent out of a pure stroke of luck and nothing more. The next one could be actively hostile toward sapient life even if the Intent of the reforged Shards settled into a balance of some kind, which isn't guaranteed. Wait maybe that's why Ado was shattered in the first place: a potential for a turn to hostility that the soon-to-be Vessels thought was too large of a chance to risk so they were just "yeah okay we'll kill him that makes sense."

Trailer looks sick. That sandworm! That was what I was most worried about, but they did it SO WELL!

Anyone else get a gay vibe between Clubs and Breeze?
Invocation replied to Diarmadhi's topic in Mistborn
Okay I could potentially understand Ham and Breeze (never mind that Ham is married and everything), but Clubs and Breeze never gave off that feeling to me. There was a bit of mutual appreciation, but it didn't seem to be romantic appreciation, just a thing of "this person can't be Soothed so I don't have to actively try not to Soothe him to keep him comfortable" from Breeze and from Clubs it was more of "this guy has good wine taste." At least to me. Vibes are...subjective at best. -
Barq's is superior to all brands. A&W is only good in floats. I will die on this hill if I need to.

The modern Radiants are having issues hitting the Fourth that I don't think the ancient Knights would have had. Pre-Recreance, there was an entire support system. You had your whole Order of fellows, people who were journeying along the same path (even with the slight divergences) and you had people at the head that had passed through all five Oaths and mastered themselves through them. Modern Radiants don't have any of that. They don't have anyone to rely on, to fall back on, that would help mitigate some of the emotional impact of the later Oaths. The Third is a major hangup for them because of that. All they have are outsider perspectives on their troubles and that doesn't go well most of the time. It works fine if you're more independant and your Order doesn't seem geared toward risking your life 100% of the time, but for groups like the Windrunners and Stonewards, that constant danger and panic has no release valve. In the ancient times, you had the people who had already gotten to the Fourth ready and able to help bridge that gap in any way possible, helping the transition immensely, so the Third probably wasn't as much of a stumbling block. Bridging into the Fifth was probably their equivalent, leading to a much more even distribution of Blade to Plate. Or it could be that the Shin whoever hid most of the Shards calculated it to make the ratio more even.

Wait are the Sky Raiders a viable job for Windrunners? There's another bonus to having them dead: the spren. At some point, the spren will get tired of bonding to someone that will throw themselves into a metaphorical meat grinder. The more you kill, the quicker that comes.

Who Else is Avoiding RoW Preview Chapters?
Invocation replied to ILuvHats's topic in Stormlight Archive
I started out nothing wanting to read them but just couldn't keep it going. I need my fix. -
If they can build a diminishing fabrial large enough, maybe they could trap Odium that way.
