  1. it sure help!!! Damn, thank you! For me, it's was after AoL that the job application as the coachman is open (therefore, the Hoid epilogue of WaT was just before SoS). But with what you said, it's before. This mean that the timeline is more wacky on the time level^^.
  2. For me it goes like this: - Alloy of law before RoW and Wat (there's a one year gap between OB and RoW and I found it compelling that AoL occurs during that time. Hoid presence at the wedding is still possible (he disappear sometimes from the narrative of the SA and could have gone to Scadrial during this year gap.) - RoW and WaT as the same "block" of time, so to speak. - Ending of WaT: Shallan Pov and Hoid Pov. The fact that both POV seems out of order/synch is for me a "meta" thing. Time is wonky since Retribution rising and Brandon show that with this. Kelsier say to Shallan that a crisis had occured and dispatch. For me it's the Autonomy invastion of TLM (which could occur following the Retribution creation). But Hoid last POV is him presenting as a new coachman for Wax. - Therefore, it's possible for me that some skybreakers have arrived on Scadrial following the time bubble some time before TLM. But it's really shaky ^^'. (hope i've been clear, sorry for any mistake ^^')
  3. It's "us" if you play the first scenario play of the Cosmere RPG !
  4. Look to the last Shardcast episode. They talk about that. TL,DW: not gonna happen. What happen in WoR only happen once and not more. Brandon is aware of some of the problems of prose, etc. But he's not gonna change it.
  5. Thanks for this précisions !! It was always my impression that there was a "retcon" so to speak. It was a mistake on my part. Thanks!
  6. My 2 cents on the OT and NT (from a french boy who have been in private school and had catechism until high school): First, please note, that've been educated in a private school, but not in a religious home. My parents are not religious, they let's me choose. I am first and foremost a layman (a laic person) and an agnostic. But I believe in religious freedom as long as it's personal and doesn't encroach on my freedom. And from a personal point of view, I must admit that I really like the “character” (if I may say so) of Jesus. The first rebel in a way ^^! Having finished this introduction, from what I remember of my catechism classes, Jesus updated the ancient sacred texts a little and allowed greater “freedom” in his religious practice. And above all, the New Testament changes from the angry, vengeful god of the Old Testament to a more understanding, “forgiving” god. For me, this is one of the answers to why it's easier not to follow the Old Testament. I really hope I haven't offended or insulted anyone. It's not easy to write about such a complex subject in a language that isn't my own (as indicated in my sig, i'm a french speaker). But thanks again for this discussion, it's part of why I love the internet ^^!!!
  7. Just coming to this thread to say thanks for all participant (@ookla and @AquaRegia in particular). I find it really interresting. So thanks, it will nourish my thinking!
  8. Maybe this will help... https://www.brandonsanderson.com/blogs/blog/on-renarin-and-rlain
  9. I don't really agree. Could you please specified what was hard to read due to you lack of cosmere awareness? Because sorry but, knowning who Vasher is or why freeing Odium is a big deal is firstly not really important and secondly explain by Hoid in the book. But let's agree to disagree on this point. The shard wars is (from my point of view) for the Cosmere on the whole. For Roshar, it's something else entierly (resist to Retribution and to the singer, trying to be better whatever happen, etc.) It's not the whole point of the SA. On the superhero things, it's already there since the beginning no? I mean, the first arrival of the KR in Dalinar's vision is completly an Avenger arrival. So there is that.
  10. For me too. Renarin is my favorite character, because i'm finding myself in him, so i'm not objective at all. But my feeling and emotions were as is. Same with the feelling of Kaladin's depression. Spot on.
  11. Don't you read my last sentence. I'm going way overboard because of what I read on this board. Sorry if the irony is too subtle... I'm not saying that WaT is perfect (far from it). Some editing would have made it way better, and some plotline left me hanging. But seriously some people seems to hate this book with a passion that is insane. They didn't have the book that they imagine and therefore the book is rust... Seriously, they need to try to touch grass some time.
  12. I'm now completly convince that SA will be an incredible epic and will be remember as the "LoTR" of our age. WaT convince me of this! Yeah, i'm overstating a bit much, but hey, with what i'm reading there, i'm not the only one...
  13. I don't know. Just take it easy and read the book at you own rythm. Everything will be alright. It will affect is reading. It's really not a good advice... Just read the book as intented for a first reading
  14. He's incorrigible xD xD! I litterally screamed at home. He cannot help himself!!!
  15. I'm also doing it. Because I find this kind of stuff (chapter in a timely manner) really cool !
  16. And now i've the image of Mr. T and Adrotagia: A: "Did you save Roshar?" T: "Yes" A: "And what did it cost you?" T: "Everything..."
  17. I'm not there yet (but it's not a big deal for me to read some spoilers), but, maybe we shouldn't trust ANY of what is "written" when it's a Shallan chapter and she's alone (i.e without any other POV). I mean, she's an unrealiable narrator over 9000 ^^'. For me, nothing that she hear, sees, say, smell is a truth. It's to be taken with a grain of big big salt. But, all explanation in this topic also work (i'm partial for the "repeating" thing from Mraizes or the "two" Mraizes).
  18. I love this topics, he's awesome xD. To be absolutly meta, we should ask Brandon to ask questions xD xD!!
  19. damnation, I was going for it ^^. So, my other favorite quote: And also: I remember laughting very hard imagining the sequence xD.
  20. I've also ask some question: Is A leader. No. When I told him that I pick up the question on Seventheenth Shards, he smiles and says to says Hi :). It was a great signing. Brandon was so cool (as always).
  21. Hey Gals and Guys, This morning i've received the newsletters from Brandon, and I was most surprised to see that he was coming to Paris \o/. I've already place a "rest" day at work, and will be there. So, if you want, I propose to ask a question to Brandon (most certainly RAFO but whatever ^^) and also help in case of retranscription of any other question. Sibsidiary remarks: if any member of the 17th is coming, make yourselk known ^^. I'll be fun to discuss of Brandon while waiting his signature ^^.
  22. I wish to go, but on a Monday, I'm not sure it's possible fort me. I'll try .
  23. I love DW (oh wait, what gives me away? My avatar? My oath as KR ?) because it's so much fun and entertaining. It worked for me, because I didn't expect anything ^^. The Doctor persona is so incredible oO. I really like is different incarnation (as Tenant, as Eccelston or most of all as Smith). Every Doctor is different and stay the same. The story are sometimes cheesy and some DEM is used, but damnation, it so great to see the Doctor resolved a situation with some tech-babble and some help of his companions xD.
  24. You and me both pal
  25. "I'll never acting cowardly or with cruelty" "I'll never give up, never give in" You know where I come from with this don't you :D.
