  1. I think tension has been described in a wob as something like you take a piece of cloth and make it rigid it seems to go with your discussion above
  2. For instance at the court of god’s, they had a lot of control over how they looked based on how they perceived themselves like allmother looked older and then later she started looking even more older they have this control coz they are cognitive shadows but I don’t feel like heralds have a similar kind of control over how they look. I feel that they had lived long enough before becoming heralds so they should be older looking. But what if they were already immortal to begin with. That would explain a lot of timeline issues that I have, seeing as heralds except ash may be had come directly from Ashyn!
  3. Also I feel that the Iriali religion and there mention of the one and how all experience are important and therefore there will become many then one again, also seems to point towards adonalsium getting reunited again but if dalinar will do it or someone else, we can not tell plus adonalsium is supposed to be super good at futuresight
  4. I agree, talking of crossover characters should be ideally done in cosmere forum Because this thread is spoilers for both OB and warbreaker
  5. Tarah has been mentioned enough number of times and it is an unresolved love story I think she is going to come back
  6. Difficult to not discuss warbreaker, while discussing azure
  7. Wow creepy horror movie is playing around in the peaks! I can not wait Brandon to take us to the peaks in SA4. I think we have the potential to top the kholinar oathgate version here. @dvoraen if living at the peaks is giving hot eaters schizophrenia then imagine shallan is anyway not very stable minded to begin with!!
  8. Yup your quote of him describing his spren clears that up. Thanx @RShara
  9. Taln defies this, don’t you think? He is plenty broken but still comes across as tall, masculine etc. whereas I doubt at the time his spiritual ideal fits the way he looks... same with ash too. She looks gorgeous n all but I don’t think she feels that way about her! So I think that there bodies are In a fixed state
  10. Yes I agree. It will be very helpful to have more povs from heralds in the meanwhile. I just find it very intriguing. It really seems to me that heralds were not randomly chosen by honor for oathpact. May be there was something special about them to begin with.
  11. There is mention that the gods of wind, spren and stone in eila stelle so I think this refers to the three “god spren” therefore, sibling can not just simply be the spren of urithiru, he has more of s presence than that, he helped make the peaks habitable, probably had helped in shinovar also seeing as it is so different from rest of Roshar I think sibling represents spren of stone. I also wonder why stormfather says you have hurt them enough. Could greatshells be in some way related to sibling? We think here stormfather is referring to all humanity but what if he was specifically saying you alethis have hurt them enough. Could he be related to gemhearts ?
  12. But there might be more to it. After all why is valley so important to cultivation. Why not protect her perpendicularity?
  13. @Karger Cool thanx. And about the interlude, like i said i need to read it again.
  14. I think it would be dangerous even if it were possible because a. it is very unstable and we know that such perpendicularities are avoided by worldhoppers as a rule specially when a much more stable one is available b. when you enter PR through it, you will literally enter a highstorm that will rip you to pieces. So only windrunners or skybreakers would be able to use it safely. Also, i wonder, if honor's perpendicularity is unstable and manifests during highstorm now because tanavast is dead and largest chunks of honor have merged into stormfather. It is mentioned that Urithiru was built in a place closest to honor and the valley is quite close to Urithiru. So i wonder if originally his perpendicularity was located in the Valley. Upon his death, cultivation has taken residence over the Valley in the memory of tanavast? After all, her perpendicularity is in the peaks? why is she based in the valley?
  15. Recharging spheres is something that only Dalinar can do, it is not a normal bondsmith power. And Shallan's map is kind of spiritual adhesion, where he can bond with her and direct her power to do something that he wants. Nightwatcher, i dont know. She must have other magical abilities too... Sibling: since he helps in the working of a giant fabrial i.e. Urithiru, what if his bondsmith were capable of creating other fabrials that radiants used. Like, oathgates, the regrowths etc. What if sibling would give them the ability to bond other spren to fabrials without trapping them inside the gemstones? I dont think that sibling would actually reside inside the gemstone pillar, because earlier fabrials did not trap spren inside gemstones. They worked by binding spren to work the fabrials via oaths i think.
  16. I think he will try to get his parents out and his brother.
  17. good catch, it is relevant though not probably in a way that you think :-) as Karger said, read edgedancer. And i m not at all worried about Kaladin turnin on the dark path. Not al all. And i think his fetish for cleanliness has to do with the fact that he was trained by a surgeon.
  18. In OB, when Moash kills Jezerien, on a recent reread of OB, i noticed that ShallAsh cries out, OH GOD! OH ADONALSIUM! This makes me wonder, why would a herald cry out in the name of Adonalsium? not Honour? or Almighty? even Cultivation may be. But Adonalsium? Did the Heralds worship Adonalsium? Does that mean they followed a pre-shattering religion? or could it mean that they were alive pre-shattering? How old exactly were these heralds at the time of forming the Oathpact? How much time was there between shattering and forming the Oathpact? It can not be within a single lifetime. Even human exodus from Ashyn and settlement on Roshar and then first desolation, forming of fused by odium and forming of Oathpact with honor, all these events in totality, should have taken a long time, atleast a 100 years if not more, but still we know from wobs, that heralds came from Ashyn. Again, how old were these heralds? I always thought that they became Immortal after the oathpact, since they are basically cognitive shadows, but now i am wondering if they were already immortal when they came from Ashyn? Because that could explain a lot here. Were they surgebinders who destroyed the planet? hence, they were made to leave? So had that surgebinding granted immortality too? I am all too confused here. any thoughts guys, please share...
  19. Kenton, Kenton, Where is my boombox??!!
  20. As it stands, Dalinar is not only planning to tell just the KRs of what he did, at the end of the book, he has written a whole book "Oathbringer" to tell the entire world what he has done in Rathalas. with regard to forgiveness for Dalinar, i think it is not so much as Evi or the people of Rathalas who forgave him at the end of OB, but he i think, also, forgave himself. I think, what he does in Thalen City, in trying to protect it alone, even when no one stood with him, he felt for the first time, in a long long time, that i can forgive myself. He can not change the past, but he is confessing to the entire world, in the book that he wrote about the darkest moments of his life. His sons will know how their mother died, Kaladin will know what Dalinar did, bridge 4 will learn what dalinar had done. His allies will learn too. In fact, i dont think that this topic is fully finished in the books either, the fallout of his book is yet to happen. I think he is yet to earn the forgiveness of his sons. But still, also note, Hypothetical situations aside, as it stands in the book, Evi's death was a tragic accident. He did not intentionally kill his wife. So, do not be too surprised when he earns their forgiveness easily. Forgiveness of Kaladin and bridge 4, i am more worried about. And it might be possible that their relationship is a little awkward in the next book. Also, Evi is a victim of Rathalas too, she may not have any povs but i think her death is still impactful enough. Other pov that could have been possible is the rebel brightlord but also note that he was not exactly innocent in all of this. We may have empathised with him even less if his pov were provided. He was as much under the influence of Thrill at the time as Dalinar, and his actions were equally destructive and abhorrent. He threw away peace that Dalinar offered him, fed him wrong information, tried to ambush him and kill him, when Evi came to him begging him to surrender, she warned him the destruction that will follow, he instead put her in jail, did not evacuate his city even his family, etc. I think that in fact brandon could have put his pov in the book and that would have only served the readers to dislike him and forgive dalinar more easily. It would just serve to remind the readers that Dalinar was not the only one responsible but he was the only one who felt guilty about it, who was haunted about it. You think Sadeas lost even a single night's sleep over Rathalas? As far as adding the pov of some innocent victim from Rathalas people once in the book: i dont think would have added any extra weight to the narrative. Brandon could have just said everyone died and thats it. But, he is mentioning their cries for help, cries full of terror and pain, over and over again in the book, which i think is sufficient to represent the brutality that is Rathalas Massacre. I dont think that readers are finding it easy to forgive Dalinar because the terror of Rathalas is not represented properly. I disagree. I feel that Dalinar has earned the forgiveness and the love of the readers because of his actions now, the kind of person that he has become, the kind who wants to unify humanity, wants peace, who gave up his shards to save slaves, who could face a God of Hatred alone with a book in his hand and who refuse to let go of his pain and guilt. Who voes to not fall, and if he falls, who vows to rise each time and do better. I can forgive him and so I think will his sons and Kaladin, eventually.
  21. I thought it is wyndle because he mentions it specifically in edgedancer, Ch. 4: plus the cobbler had regrowth. Although he does not say that he had and that person died... hmm i thought that he died and that is why wyndle then moved onto Lift. too much coincidence is it not that two spren were thinking of bonding him from two different orders and both were going to grant him regrowth? @RShara thanx for the quote that clears it for me. where was the cobbler living? was he Azish too? Could it be that his spren then moved onto bond stump? Can they move onto the next person so quickly? Is it a little more difficult if your radiant is higher level because the strength of the bond increases as you move up? what massacre? Knight that she was bonded to was old. he may have died of natural reasons. i do not remember her mentioning any massacres. and how is this relevant? stormfather could not find her for thousands of years, how is any massacre that might have killed her radiant relevant to her not being found, please explain?
  22. @Dancer you are welcome. in fact just confirmed that the animals they breed in alethkar for gemhearts are Chulls
  23. what colour would be Harmony's perpendicularity?
  24. I don’t think he would have grown that arm with stormlight if that were the case
  25. “Sometimes a hypocrite is just a man in the process of changing”- dalinar “I will take responsibility for what I have done,” Dalinar whispered. “If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” -dalinar “Maybe you don’t have to save anyone, Kaladin. Maybe it’s time for someone to save you.” - syl
