Haha it is ok. I guess resilient may be....

Welcome to the shard! I really like mistborn too but only the master Brandon Sanderson can outdo himself as he has with stormlight archive. I think the world building is even more better and detailed and I just love a multiple pov book with 10-15 pov characters, all their stories merging to make one coherent read. Mistborn was a beginning, an experiment in the direction and SA was the result.

Welcome to the shard! I love worldbuilding too especially since it is so rare in fantasy to find a world other than our medieval era with horses and swords and castles and everyone’s favourite fae people. Brandon is amongst few who do something different Which books of his have you read? And which world you loved the most?

Welcome to the shard! Guess I know your favourite character of the cosmere

He stood up to Dalinar yes but once he was proven wrong, when it was discovered that The visions were real, he accepted his mistake and did not begrudge it. When he felt that Sadeas was bad news he still let Dalinar trust him and followed his father’s instructions, when he was proven right, all he did was say once that I told you so to Dalinar. I don’t know, I just don’t see him as hard headed. I think it is too strong a word to describe what he is.

I just realised the best Cosmere Ship

Omg !! White hats ?! Love the title by the way -
I find very hard to reconcile your image of adolin with mine. Hardheaded is he? Not much. He is Dalinar’s son so he is that, a little but I think he is quite flexible too. I think he has always proven to be quite in sync with “modern times”. I also find it hard to believe that he refuses to shed his bond with Maya just because he treats his blade as a tool. If it just a tool to him, then why not shed it, and get a better improved one. An alive spren alongwith radiant powers. No, I think there is some sort of connection that he shares with Maya which he does not want to let go. A connection which I think had only strengthened, once he learned that she is a spren, a dead one.

How can a single chapter make me both cry so much and then laugh so much !! This chapter for me was Sanderson at his best. Have I ever said that adolin’s is my favourite character after Kaladin and dalinar. He is just such a good friend and as expected very understanding but worried about Shallan. I loved when he said “ I am not giving up Maya” !! Maya, did you hear it? Also loved how much Kal has changed his mind about Adolin. From he is such a brat to how has no spren taken you up yet? loved it! Rock is going off that part was really sad.

Haha!! wow!! Awesome!

Haha Dude, I am not saying that answer was right, I am saying I was so close, just had to travel a little south! If Only I had remembered that their was a chasm is elantris too! Darn!! it was very good guess by you, well done! Now to your clues: shattered plains?
-
Seriously!!? My guess was Arelon and the answer was the chasm you the south of Arelon!!!!! You have to admit I came closest to guessing it!! In fact you should have given it to me!

Welcome to the shard! Been reading RoW released chapters?

I agree. I discussed it somewhere that Kaladin being benched and windrunners being taken away from him, painful though it was to read, was necessary. He needs to let go! He needs to let go of his windrunners. They are not his to control and protect all the time. He trained them well, gave them weapons ( their radiancy ) and now he must learn to trust in them. In their ability to protect themselves or in their choice to still fight and sacrifice themselves for their cause. Kaladin does not know but I think he will be surprised by them. Once they know they don’t have Kaladin to save them, I think their training and prowess will shine through.

(OB) Most Disliked Stormlight Character
Aon Tia replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Minority we may be, but we are not alone in hating Taravangian. Mr. T is also one of the characters that I hate most. I also find it strange that Moash gets so much hate when in reality his actions comprises killing two people really and one of them we did not even like till OB! Row spoilers : Whereas Mr. T has quite literally caused mass destruction! And people excuse him for reasons like - it is difficult to hate an octogenarian - he has good intentions though, he thinks he is protecting the world !! (well for all we know Odium probably also thinks that he is saving the cosmere at large by sacrificing a few lives or gods or planets !) - they believe in the genius MR. T and his diagram to save Roshar. These reasons I find quite..... inadequate to forgive him, personally. He is back stabbing Dalinar all the way through OB and what he is doing in his hospitals is quite frankly totally unacceptable! so what if he sheds tears while doing it, he is still doing it! well, I like that he is a conflicted character and is written brilliantly but still I believe that Mr. T is not even discussed as a major villain which he should be. I had even started a topic where we had discussed why T is not hated and discussed at all. @kaellok I agree. I also think that more than his belief that radiants can not win or that dalinars alliance will not win, it is his issue with the fact that it is dalinar who will get to be the one who saved the world and not Taravangian. Since wor, we see that he insists that Dalinar needs to be stopped but why ? He has never explained. Why? Because if Dalinar is not stopped, then he will succeed in saving the world and not Taravangian. I think like he believes he has sacrificed his sanity ( most of the days he is a blubbering idiot) in order to have the capacity to save the world and he deserves to get the credit for saving it. And if he does not get the credit due to him, he would rather see the world destroyed as long as he can save his city and his family and friends. Do you have any doubts that then he will harp on about how he saved them. They alone survived thanks to him. In order to feed his vanity he will see Roshar destroyed. He is definitely not a good person! In truth, he is an evil person who likes to project to the world that he is good and compassionate. And I for one, am not fooled. -
Seems very likely right now! Why else fear that all will hate her? What if she started the whole desolation? And she deep down knows it and does not want to remember....

I like this idea!! Yes I think honorspren might not really think that they need to join forces against odium. They expect him to leave eventually and what is time to eternal beings such as spren. If, and it probably is, their holding is strong enough then they might think that they can wait out the last desolation. After all it is not like they need water or food to survive!!

@Bliev a mundane childhood secret from our Shallan? That started the whole downward spiral to begin with! Well that would indeed be anti-climactic ! I guess I would not mind! It does not have to be something very earth shattering it could be that the smallest of things would have sent her the DID route. @Honorless Hon I am actually aware of this wob. I know Brandon has said that there is unmade influence on Davars. But what I always thought was that unmade was connected to her father’s behaviour and nan balat’s. But now I begin to question of the origins of this “formless” within Shallan and the yet uncovered secret buried deep deep within her, could have something to do with the unmade.
-
Yea I think it has to be something really terrible if she finds even thinking of it as dangerous. She, who can confess killing both her parents still find it difficult to acknowledge whatever it is, it has to be more terrible. Yes I think it could be something to do with an unmade. May be she accidentally released the unmade trapped on their estate. Who knew that she had always been “the unmade person”!
