    Nogard looked at Shoe desperately, his expression clearly reading help me!

    "The call was- er- convincing. It's possible it wasn't entirely voluntary." Nogard looked somewhat discomfited by the girl's tears. "Um. Anyways, the old man should be around sooner or later, since we finished his quest. I'm sure he'll know what happened." @NameIess

    "I have not seen your rabbit," replied Nogard truthfully. "It's possible it joined the invisible legion."

    Nogard yelped. "Uh... Hello! I don't think we've met."

    "No, wait!" said Nogard, panicked. "The bridge isn't meant to support things bigger than rabbits!" The bridge creaked ominously in agreement.

    The man- Nogard's brother- surveyed the scene, eyes landing on Jilu. He frowned. "I thought they executed you." He pulled out a silver dagger. "I assume you want me to take care of this abomination?" he inquired of Nogard. "No, no!" replied Nogard hurriedly, holding his hands up. "Er, I actually just needed the rain." Erif blinked. "The... rain?" "Yes. The rabbit bridge came out too small, so we needed to put it in water to make it grow." Nogard gestured at the bridge in question. "You have that whole thunderstorm-herald thing going on, so I figured..."

    "Ah," said Nogard, looking suddenly troubled. "You've been acquainted, I believe. You see, it's-" There was a dramatic flash of lightning and a boom of thunder, and all of a sudden there was a man standing behind Jilu. He was tall and redheaded- and in fact, bore a striking resemblance to Nogard. "-my brother," finished Nogard belatedly. "Er, hey, Erif. How's it going?" Softly, gently, the rain began to fall. Behind Nogard the bridge popped into full size, settling into its rightful place across the chasm.

    "Hmm," mused Nogard, after a few minutes of waiting. "I wonder..." He pulled out his phone and dialed a single number. "Hello? Yeah, I need your help with something." In the distance, thunder began to rumble and clouds began to gather.

    Unless things have changed, posts here won't count towards your post total. But congrats After a brisk walk, Nogard came to a stop at the brink of the canyon. Hanging from the edge was what had once been a bridge. "Here we are," Nogard announced unceremoniously.

    Nogard continued, willfully oblivious to whatever fate befell Woe.

    Nogard set off at a brisk pace, decidedly ignoring Woe as he left.

    It's a ravine roughly near to where they started. I guess the exact location probably is on the paper.

    "Worth a try!" Nogard considered the bridge. "We'd better go to the building location before we do it, though."

    "Hmm," said Nogard, inspecting the bridge. "It's a bit smaller than I was expecting."

    The volcano rumbled ferociously. The ground shook and smoke billowed from the tip. A miniature bridge was ejected into the air.

    Nogard snorted. "You're right about that. I don't understand at all. Jilu, do you want to eat him?" "Two more," said Nogard absently.

    "Why?" asked Nogard skeptically. "Were you being mind controlled?"

    "Take it to the rim of the volcano and start throwing stuff in," said Nogard, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on Woe.

    "A traitor," Nogard spat, keeping his eyes fixed on Woe.

    "You were the one who started the quest," said Nogard. "Were you planning to double-cross us even then?" He shook his head. "I just don't understand why. What was the point?"

    Nogard scowled. "Woe. You betrayed us."

    Unfortunately for Woe, that was the bush he had just walked out of.

    "Well that's everything we need then!" said Nogard. "Now we just need to throw it all in the volcano."
