Here are my characters for era 3. I would put Neil at 30 for Intelligent, 55 for Average at Hand to Hand and Melee weapons training, and 20 for Scholarship. The weakness is probably -10, but I don't really have a metric for that. I have no idea how to score the seon, either, or whether I should count the points towards Neil's total or make him a separate character.

I appeared silently and invisibly on the remains of the den, shaking my head. Good thing that Nekorb had- Wait a minute. Nekorb was immune to Investiture. The Tia card wouldn't have worked. Which meant... "Oh, no..." I whispered. I couldn't let him die. But how could he have survived a nuclear blast?

What would happen if you inserted an aluminum spike into a bindpoint on the planet?

Rekaerb stood at the bow of the boat, watching to make sure it didn't crash into anything. Things had been running smoothly so far, but you never knew if something would come up. For now, though, he was enjoying the scenery. The land around the Alleycity was beautiful this time of year: the clean-up crews had done their job well, purging every last bit of radiation from the bomb from the ground. The bomb. It was a sobering thought, indeed. It may have put an end to the fighting, but the fact that it was needed in the first place spoke volumes about the nature of this universe. He had hoped for something different for the end of this era, but it was not to be. Even as the boat rounded the last point before the dock, he could feel the fighting going on, even now. Even though he hadn't been around for the Seven Day War, he had read the history. Was destruction the only answer? Could there be another way? He sighed, and began pulling up to the dock. What could he do? After this era had ended, he would have to leave. He knew that. And then... His thoughts were cut off as a sudden realization struck him. The dock? He was already back? How could that be? He closed his eyes and thought back. He hadn't seen a single way out in his journey around the coastline. He frowned, and pulled his tracker out of his pocket. "Map," he spoke, and waited impatiently for the response. After a few seconds of the loading screen- an endless spinning blue circle- the map appeared. Indeed, there was no way out, at least on land. But clearly, this body of water connected to the sea- he'd seen ships leave enter and leave this dock. So what was up?

Nekorb touched the card just as the explosion detonated. Far, far away... I stood up from my chair, yawned, and stretched. Finally, I thought. It took him long enough. I reached for the lever that would descend me, then hesitated. Might as well do this in style. I stepped across the room into a circle, closed my eyes, and vanished.

Nogard stared in horror at the mass of shadowy birds. Pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place as he watched them rise. Oh, no... ~~~~~~~ Kate screamed as the birds rose from the hole. Treachery! she thundered. She released another flash of lighting, but it could only do so much. You will pay! ~ Michael watched in horror as the birds kept coming. How many were there? He cried out as some began flying towards him. He intensified his winds, ready to knock them out of the sky.

Kate felt the birds cower before her onslaught. She knocked them about, flinging them back and forth, keeping them confused. Suddenly, she felt Michael there. Sister! he cried Stop! This isn't what you want! Yes! she thundered back. It is! Did you not see what this island did? Michael quieted for a moment. Yes. I saw. Then you know. I will not stand by- No! Michael hissed with frustration. Do you want to start a war? Kate did not respond. She concentrated for a moment, letting the power build up. Did she? Michael called out again, softer. Do you? Kate did not wait to respond this time. If I must. Then she released the lightning. ~~~~~~~ Rotcennoc snapped out of his reverie. "I wasn't..." Then he ducked as Nogard shot another round of fire at him. "Bah! It doesn't matter anyways. You can do nothing to stop me." He dodged another blast and looked upwards, towards the distant hole in the ceiling. A crack of thunder rolled through the cavern. The island let out a scream of pain. "Now!" he cried. The ceiling disintegrated, crumbling into dust. Although the storms blocked out the sun, there was still enough light left to show what had been hiding there. As the dust rained down on them, thousands of shadowbirds took to the air, ready to face the enemy they had been tasked to defeat.

Rekaerb watched the fighting dissolve into chaos, helpless to do anything. He couldn't resist the opening of the barrier. But he didn't want to help, either. All he could do was wait, and hope that when Voidus was released, things wouldn't be too horrible. Suddenly, he had an idea. He pulled his sensor out of his pocket and selected "pineapple". He nodded in satisfaction. There were none within distance to be any danger. He breathed a sigh of relief. That could have been bad.

Rotcennoc sighed. "If I only had time to explain... Perhaps. My task is not yet finished." He turned towards her. "But I can try. There is a little time before the next stage begins." He shot a brief glance upwards, then returned his gaze to her. "There are people that live on these islands. You have seen little of them, I think." His lips turned upwards slightly. "They are not overly fond of strangers." He sighed. "Maybe it is because their life here is so simple. Being part of an island in that way..." He trailed off, a wistful look on his face.
-
Rotcennoc moved evasively, switching his gaze between the members of the party. "Don't you understand? I need- we need this power. This is for the good of all. Some sacrifice is necessary. All good things require sacrifice, after all. You know this, right? Surely you do." He became aware that he was babbling and stopped. Surely, he didn't care what these shortsighted fools thought of him. Didn't he? ~~~~~~~ Nogard heard the man begin to stutter out an explanation and felt his anger rise. What this man had done... and he dared claim the greater good? He felt the power crackling inside of him and inside of his gemstones. Might as well put that to use. He raised his hand and shot a burst of fire at Rotcennoc, who yelped and jumped out of the way. Only it was more like flying; he cleared the gemheart pillar entirely, landing in the shadows behind the pedestal. He felt the island rumbling in dismay. Stop! Cease your conflict. Please.

Finally got around to updating my character for era 3.

Nekorb panted as he followed the others. He looked around in confusion. What was going on? He didn't even know anymore.

Nogard moved closer in towards Rotcennoc as he began talking. An explanation? It had better be a good one... He felt Investiture flow into him suddenly. He stopped, surprised. He had but a moment to wonder before the alleycane hit. ~~~~~~~ Rotcennoc felt the impact of the alleycane jostle the island. At the same time, he felt the island channeling the power of the storm through the gemheart to steady them all, to keep them from harm. It made sense, he supposed. The islands by nature were inclined to protect all who lived on them. From what he could tell, having plants and animals on an island was what gave it sentience, so in a sense, the inhabitants were the island. He just wished that this particular island hadn't decided to keep this particular group of people safe. It was making his job a whole lot harder. He ducked the punch and stepped out of the way, moving towards the other end of the cavern and trying to get away from the others. ~~~~~~~ Michael pulsed in dismay and followed after Kate. Sister, stop!

Rotcennoc frowned. This was going south. He stepped forwards. "Do not get upset. I can explain..." At that moment, the alleycane hit.
-
"It was a child, Damaya. A newborn, basically." He shook his head. "Why the island would condone killing her own child, I don't know. But I don't want to be part of it."
-
Nogard gestured at the gemheart. "The new island. He destroyed it."
