    I, for one, would like to get a main plot started. I don't want to fight a villain that's impossible to beat, but that depends mostly on the way the RP'er plays the character. This is why I approve of plotting things out to a certain extent beforehand.

    Reylf set down outside the tower, careful not to crash into the wall. That had happened last time. It hadn't been fun. He opened the door and went inside, ringing a bell tied to the door. He let it swing shut behind him as he took in the room.

    Nogard pulled the power along the connection, feeling it filling him. With a start, he realized that the gemheart in her hands was full of untapped power. He reached out and began to pull on that through her. Taking the power, he pushed out and formed a connection with Rotcennoc. Silver light flashed across the cavern. ~~~~~~~ Rotcennoc felt the attack, unexpected and devastating. He struggled, trying to turn his weave on his attacker, but he was too slow. The weave backfired on him, draining his energy until he had almost nothing left. He staggered, falling to the floor. "No..." he whispered. ~~~~~~~ High above, Kate felt herself begin to succumb to the call of the island.

    Rekaerb looked up at the mention of the other side. Uh-oh. He'd left the distractor on. He switched if off quickly, then waved to the man. "Hey! Over here."

    The back of the card read: Good, you decided to help! It seems that Nekorb got incinerated by the bomb. There's not much of him left, but he's hanging on somehow. Can you Tia over there and get his remains to a hospital? All the required Tia cards are on the top of the deck.

    Nogard rose fully to his feet, steadying himself against a nearby stalagmite. He felt the unformed consciousness of the gemheart reaching out to him. Curious, he accepted it. As the soul connected to him, he felt power residing in the gemheart: the power to make connections, explore connections and manipulate connections. He reached in and touched it, learning more about how it worked and what it could potentially be used for. With a start, he realized that he was using the power. Was this a side effect of connecting to the gemheart? Was it because it hadn't fully formed yet? Whatever the reason, he had the power, and he could use it against Rotcennoc. He reached out through Connection at the man, trying to see what he was planning to do next. ~~~~~~~ Rotcennoc closed his eyes as the island explained things to him. Yes, this was bad. This could potentially ruin everything for him. But it shouldn't be too hard to prevent. Holding the connection of the island in his mind, he began weaving a pattern that would drain energy from its target. ~~~~~~~ Nogard watched the man's weaving with mixed feelings. Clearly, the man intended to drain the island of energy, an action that would most certainly kill it. The island had done some horrible things, but he didn't think it deserved to die. He took another look at Rotcennoc's weavings. Could he find a way to turn it back on its creator? He was sure he could, if he only had more power. Even with all of his gemstones, he wasn't getting enough Investiture: he was pretty weak, for a Radiant. Suddenly, a thought struck him. Damaya was a Lightweaver, wasn't she? Maybe she could help. He reached forward and touched her hand, connecting with her. With thoughts, he explained the situation to her. What do you think?

    Oh. Sorry. I have the stuff, but I couldn't get it to come out right, and I wanted to get it in before the start of era 3. I'll give you what I have, though. He was born to a High Epic mother, and developed his Epic powers at a young age, but his father kidnapped him, and, because his epic weakness was large amounts of water, took him to live on a boat in the middle of the ocean. When he was fifteen, the boat was attacked near a whirlpool. He managed to save his father (overcoming his weakness) but was sucked down the whirlpool, through the underwater alleys, and into the Alleyverse.

    Rotcennoc made a dash for the gemheart, feeling the gemheart begin to coalesce as he ran. He held a hand out in front of him, ready to catch it. A spark glimmered... ~~~~~~~ Nogard felt the pain, and fought it. He'd been caught unawares the first two times, uncertain of how to deal with it. But he was prepared now, and he had learned. Enough, perhaps, to do something this time. He felt the gemheart begin to coalesce in the hands of Rotcennoc. This should not be. It was him who bore the Connection. It should be him who was steward of the newborn. It was wrong. So he reached up and pulled. ~~~~~~~ The spark vanished. Rotcennoc stopped dead. He turned around to witness Nogard unsteadily beginning to stand, newly-forming gemheart in his hands.

    Here's one more character for the new era. I can't remember- do characters that overcome their weaknesses still have reduced effects, or are they weakness-free?
