    Aqua shrieked, and a enormous volume of water exploded from her. Astral and Michael were both knocked backwards by the torrent. "No!" wailed Michael as Aqua began to drift upwards. "Don't go!"

    Aqua sniffed. Michael stiffened. "Astral..." he said in a low, panicked tone.

    Aqua faded slightly but didn't say anything.

    Pheonix shook his head. "It can only do so much. What the Tree is manifesting is real- at least, as much as anything in this place can be." He smiled slightly, trying to quench the feelings of anxiety that threatened to take hold of him. "It'll still be a huge help, though- the more fear you have, the more the Tree will do. Anything that reduces fear will help."

    "If we are going to look for him, we'd better do it fast." Pheonix eyes flickered to the side. "We might not be trapped, but that doesn't stop the tree from manifesting our fears. And if we die... then we will be trapped."

    Michael looked at Aqua pleadingly. "Aqua-" Don't you dare, hissed Aqua. You had no right to tell her, to get her hopes up like that. "But, Aqua-" Don't you 'but' me! I won't do it! I will not go the way of my mother! Michael's mouth hung open for a second. Then he closed it and slowly dropped his gaze to the floor.
