  1. The spirit faded slightly, then returned. It seemed that fire was not capable of destroying them. Uhh... Are you sure you want your character to be a withergeist? They are not good-aligned. Like, at all. The withergeists hissed as they were banished into the Void.
  2. In the dimness of the mist, a single lantern defines a circle of light in which two people take sanctuary. At the edges of the light, twisted spirits lurk. Their forms are dark and twisted, and they whisper dark and twisted things. As the lantern flickers, they move closer and farther away, held at bay by the illumination. For now.
  3. "Indeed. Hope is a scarce commodity indeed, in these lands."
  4. The scream rang out again, closer this time, clearly coming from near one of the houses. TP swooped down and picked Gail up with his tail. I would recommend the last of the three options if you're looking for a place to join (the dark spirit exterminators group). You could even be the source of the mysterious scream if you want to The walls of the machine became transparent.
  5. Strictly speaking, no. All of them are in different universes. But that's normal for TLT. People hop between universes all the time.
  6. The mist swirled around them as the ran, the light of their lantern casting strange shadows in the dimness. Soon enough the silhouettes of buildings became visible in the mist in front of them. "Gratitude for the lift, friend!" Selppaenip released Hacob's ankle and landed on TP's back. "Aha!" he exclaimed. "It is good to ride once again!" 1-3 business days is standard. The ennuller inspected the paper. Oh! But I see this one is written in high-priority ink. We will get to you right away, sir. He vanished, then reappeared a few moments later. What is the nature of this quest? "You could, perhaps, borrow time... but it would not be their time. They do not have a future." Sure! Right now there are a few plotlines going on. There's one group doing a fight with a guild of Adventurers that has beef with them. There's another group meeting with a powerful Narrator named Onyx in order to petition him for help. The biggest group is approaching a village that is infested with dark spirits with the goal of cleaning it up.
  7. The scream repeated, even louder. It was unquestionably the scream of a child. "You understand correctly." Gail was a few feet in one direction, Nogard several feet in another. Qodi was a good distance behind her, having been blown quite far by the explosion. The map indicates a path through the forest to a nearby town. Selppaenip grabbed hold of Hacob's ankle and rose into the air alongside him. The most dangerous effect signing a request form such as the one you describe could even possibly have would be to bind you to accept our help. And that only if the form included a line laying out specifically terms a signatory would have to agree to. Which it does not.
  8. Nogard glanced in Gail's direction, but the Valiant One stood in his path. Was Qodi on/near TP? Suddenly, in the distance, a scream rang out.
  9. As the group walked further and further into the mist, the light behind them grew dimmer and dimmer. Trees lurked in front of them, hazy shadows in the fog.
  10. TP blearily took off, scales still tinged slightly red. He swooped and caught the Great Wizard in midair. Selppaenip, who had narrowly missed being bowled over by Hacob, called out. "TP! Over here!" Nogard extricated himself from the pile, scanning the ground for the people he'd seen get blown off TP's back. "Gail! Jilu!" @The Halcyon Girl @SpiritOfWrath
  11. Light dimmed as they ventured further into the fog. A few feet in they found Cricket's shoe, followed shortly thereafter by Cricket's knife. Nogard yelped, going down in a tangle of limbs.
  12. The ennuller pulled out a monocle etched with runes and inspected the pen. I suspect what he meant was that signing a contract with this pen would bind your soul to uphold it. A dangerous thing, indeed. Is the piece of paperwork you are filling out a contract? "Release my Plan-beast!" demanded Selppaenip. "Else we must come to-" TP could not hold it back any longer. He sneezed. A powerful explosion of air burst forth from every one of his scales, sending every human, rabbit, and ghanderflaffle in the vicinity flying. "Do you have anything else to say?" Onyx replied, coldly.
  13. Absolutely nothing happened. While the mist was certainly ominous, it did not seem to be intrinsically dangerous.
  14. It felt like mist- wet and slightly cold. I am authorized to receive your explanation.
  15. The mist continued to act like ordinary mist. After a few minutes, an Ennuller appeared. You called? he spoke.
  16. The fog drifted in the air, seeming in all respects like an ordinary mist.
  17. The knife flew into the fog and thunked into a tree beyond.
  18. "What use is there in delaying?" boomed Selppaenip. "We cannot just leave them to be captured!" "There are reasons I do not leave this castle, adventurer. The armor that I wear is not for my protection." Oh dear, thought TP. He could feel it building, deep within his sinuses. His scales began to shift from turquoise to a pale orange-red.
  19. "Time ended when the world failed to fulfill its purpose," Onyx repeated. Eh? Who is this?
  20. "Make sure to bring plenty of light!" Bacon commented. "Lesser withergeists hate the stuff."
