  1. "Then it would be a good idea to have every advantage we can at staying hidden, yes?"
  2. "Exactly why you need more stealth abilities," replied Jeffery. "If we wind up fighting Rishmaveta directly with only our current capabilities, we will almost certainly lose."
  3. The withergeist surged forwards, slamming into the person and ripping the power out. In moments, they were reduced to a withered corpse. "That is because you do not know the true extent of the danger you are in." "Just because my offensive capabilities are low doesn't mean I'm powerless," replied Jeffery. "Besides, this is going to be a stealth mission. Big flashy powers will be more or less useless." "I know how to balance my emotions," replied Jeffery coldly. "And believe me, you've given me quite a bit of practice."
  4. Jeffery met Nath's gaze, arms still folded. "And on what information are you basing your assessment?" he replied.
  5. Causing the program to come to an abrupt end.
  6. "They will die anyways," replied Psyder. "Their injuries are too severe. Might you not as well give their death purpose?"
  7. "Very well. I'll say this once." Jeffery's gaze intensified. "I don't want to do it alone. I don't intend to do it alone, and never did. I would be a fool to turn down help from anyone willing and able to provide assistance. Can you comprehend that?" Psyder seemed surprised. "Why not?"
  8. "Simply relax the bonds of your withergeist and let its influence flow into your target. It will pull the life from them to feed itself- and, in turn, you."
  9. "My hubris?" Jeffery scoffed. "How the pot screams... First, are you even going to listen to what I'm going to say, or will you completely ignore my words in favor of your own worldview like you did last time?" "This is the last of your abilities," said Psyder. "Drawing on the power of another's soul for fuel."
  10. Psyder glanced around. A few feet away, one of the Myrkaal who hadn't managed to get inside a bubble was breathing their final breaths. "Over here," he called to Herate. Jeffery folded his arms. "He told you, didn't he?"
  11. Jeffery shook his head. "Nath knows how to get in, he's just refusing to tell me. Is that doing our best?"
  12. "My daughter is trapped in there!" exclaimed Jeffery in frustration. "How am I supposed to rescue her if I don't know how to get in?" Psyder glanced at Herate. "Do you need to replenish your energy?" he asked.
  13. The shadow chuckled. "Not what we want from you, child... what you want from us." "So have you finally decided to reveal the way in, or are you going to continue to stubbornly hold onto it?"
  14. "Perhaps you would be so kind as to include me in your discussions, then?" replied Jeffery icily.
