    John's smile widened. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" The words were soft, but for some reason Beosta could hear them as though they were being whispered directly into her ear. "Chaos... destruction... death. You know it well, don't you?"

"But, my John-!" said the woman, close to tears. "You have to help him!" The John in question was sitting alone in his cage, smiling faintly.
