Long Game 88: Blood and Bloody Ashes!
xinoehp512 replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I also am suspicious of Conquestor. However, I did scan them last night, and they did not take any physical actions. If Conquestor is elim either they used Fog or there's a third elim. -

*Conquestor (1): Xino Why are we worrying about the contact being NKed? Surely a stat of 2+ spirit isn't that rare. -

Votes: Wizard (1): Araris Illwei (2): Conquestor, Luckspren Luckspren (1): Illwei Conquestor (2): Sart, Xino Good Bucket Bad Bucket Conquestor. Something about their rules analysis posts feels off to me, though I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyways, I'm pretty sure it's almost always better probability-wise to put in several. From what I can see, there are not a whole lot of physical actions- the elim kill seems to be the primary one. -

Question: Does the elim kill count as a physical action? Also, how is the percentage of success calculated when linking? -

Long Game 87: Choose Your Own Manywar
xinoehp512 replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't think this is my first faction game, but it has at least been a long time since I played one and my brains are bleeding out of my ears XD Mat (3): Stick, Araris, Xino Xino (3): Kas, Bard, Mat Araris (1): Fifth Mat for self-pres. So from what I understand, the "main" factions are Doves, Hawks, and Revolutionaries, all of which are hostile to each other. The Revolutionaries are the "choose to be an elim faction" (but they don't get a kill haha) One six commands are researched: If a Royal still lives: The Hawks win if they outnumber the Doves and the Revolutionaries (plus potential hostile secret faction) The Doves win if they outnumber the Hawks (they don't care about the Revolutionaries) and a secret faction has achieved their win-con. (All of the non-secret factions are hostile to the Doves.) If a Royal does not live: The Revolutionaries win if they outnumber the Doves and the Hawks The Infiltrators win if they outnumber everyone. If any elim wound up in the Revolutionaries doc they have undoubtedly struck a bargain by now. That is potentially a very powerful bloc.- 307 replies

Well it looks like the vote counter met with favorable reviews! I'm glad I tested it in the sign-up thread- I found a whole bunch of bugs before the game even started. The only real error during the game was when the program failed to count the words in Clanky's list, (although that's fixed now), so all in all things went quite smoothly. Nobody forgot to use the vote flags, so good job everyone! The game was shorter than I expected. Including the assassin was risky in such a low player-count game, and I didn't expect that it would be saved until the second round. I suppose the downside was enough to dissuade people from taking wild shots. Nonetheless, the elims were able to make enough money to capitalize on the kill extremely well while avoiding the lynch. Interestingly, very few people put in action submissions- there were only four the entire game (discounting orders cancelled midway through the cycle). People seemed more inclined to save their boxings than spend them. If there had been another cycle, I expect there would have been more.

QF61 Aftermath: The Price of Freedom "...we must not back down! We cannot give in to these petty threats. Now is the time to..." Jekiel tuned the speaker out. He had to admire her boldness, continuing to push for restrictions on the Outer Basin, given what had happened to her predecessors. He would never have done the same, in her position- he valued his life too much for that. Then again, she had inspired many of his fellow Senators to similar boldness, a tactic that could only result in further aggression from the aggrieved assassins. Hopefully, Jekiel would be able to stay under the radar until the constables were able to catch the killers. Speaking of constables... was that one, at the door? And another one, in the corner near the podium? Jekiel frowned. What could they being doing here? His question was answered when one of the constables spoke in a loud voice: "Senator Arboris, you are under arrest for the murders of Cett Yoren and Jeral Venture." Within moments, Arboris was surrounded by constables. They handcuffed her and began to lead her off the stage before she could even say a word. Jekiel watched her face as she was dragged away, sputtering in shock. "Her?" he muttered to John McCarty, the person sitting next to him. "There's no way." "Eh?" McCarty replied, blinking as though he had just woken up. "There's no way that she's the killer," Jekiel replied. "I mean, she was as much a part of the pro-tariff movement as Yoren or Venture was!" Besides, he knew what a guilty person looked like when they were caught, and Arboris hadn't looked that way. She had seemed genuinely shocked. Confused. "Hm," replied McCarty. "Fair enough." Then he stabbed Jekiel in the chest. Jekiel gasped, falling to the floor. His vision dimmed as he watched McCarty stand up and pull a gun from his pocket. -- Jekiel awoke to screams. He gasped, sitting up. He was alive. Unconsciously, he reached for his pewter reserves in his mind- empty. He shivered. Just enough to keep him alive, then. He pulled out his spare vial from one of his pockets and downed it. He breathed a sigh of relief as strength flooded his body. He made his way to his feet and left the chamber, stepping carefully over the fallen Senators that littered the floor. It was time to get out of here. -- Fires raged through Elendel as chaos reigned supreme. Three carriages drove away from the dying city. On one carriage, Hammonda, McCarty, and Ziel rode off, their work completed. On another Geoffery rode, having miraculously escaped the shootout that had consumed the Senate floor after the traitors had revealed themselves. On the last was Jekiel, along with all of his assets that he could fit into the cart. It was time to become an Outer Basinite. Luckspren was killed! They were a Senator! Clanky was killed! They were a Senator! Stick was investigated! They were a Senator! The Infiltrators have reached parity with the Senators and have won the game! Congratulations to @Archer and @The Unknown Novel! QF61 Cycle 2: Silence in the Halls Senator Found Dead in Home! the broadsheet headline read. Jekiel shuddered, looking around at his own living quarters. Spacious and luxurious, for certain- but perhaps not as safe as he had once assumed. He flicked his eyes to a shadow- had that been the movement of an assassin? Or just the wind? He let out a shuddering sigh. Maybe he should flee the city. Was keeping his seat really worth risking his life? I don't have anything to worry about, he assured himself forcefully. Jeral Venture had been one of the most outspoken members of the pro-tariff movement. Jekiel hadn't been associated with them even before the murders, and he'd taken steps to distance himself from them afterwards- the Outer Basin Assassins should have no reason to come after him. I'm safe, he assured himself. I'm safe. -- While there were those who decried Ziel Lekal for his well-known associations with Outer Basin cities, an investigation into his activities was forestalled by a discovery that another member of the Senate had been accepting bribes from factory owners. Public outcry over the incident eclipsed almost even the murders for a week or two in the broadsheets, and the senator in question eventually resigned. A shadowy figure read the news carefully, sheet pinched between two fingers. They released it thoughtfully and watched as the wind carried it up into the sky. The news was too full, now. Their secrets, revealed now, would be quickly forgotten. Useless. Their debtor would survive another day. But this was their last chance. JNV was killed! They were a Senator! Tani was investigated! They were a Senator! @Luckspren's debts have been forgiven for this cycle! As a reminder, Active on the Floor rewards one boxing for each unique player responded to. Vote count: JNV was the Loudest Voice! Reminders: The cycle ends on June 29 2PM EDT (6PM GMT). All PMs must include myself and @Araris Valerian. Words will only ever count towards one quote box, the one immediately before them. Warning to @Luckspren and @JNV: you are earning less than three boxings. As a reminder: (Leader of Discussion) You earn 1 boxing for being the first vote on a player, and 1 additional boxing for each person that matches your vote. (Loudest Voice) You earn 5 boxings for responding to the most unique posts. (Active on the Floor) You earn 1 boxing for each unique player you respond to.

All tied players will receive the reward boxings, excepting those who may have won it the cycle previous. A response is a quoted player post followed by 50 words. Loudest Voice counts each unique post responded to, while Active on the Floor each unique player responded to. Both will sum together word counts of responses that are not distinguished. (Also to clarify: neither myself nor Araris are players, and repsonses to our posts will not count for either scoreboard.)

QF61 Cycle 1: Blood on the Senate Floor Jekiel was in his office when he heard the screams. It took him a moment to realize where they were coming from; inside the Senate building itself. He peeked his head out of the door, trying to ascertain what was going on, and was relieved to find a lack of armed indviduals in his hallway. As he was formulating his exit plan in his mind, however, a messenger skidded around the hallway, panting. "Come quick, sir!" he said. "A Senator's been found. Dead!" Reluctantly, Jekiel followed. -- Yoren had been shot in the heart, seemingly before he'd even realized it. There seemed to be quite a lot of blood, though it was mostly dry by now. Jekiel averted his eyes, trying to find a place that wasn't stained crimson red, when he spotted the writing. Down With Tyrants! it spelled. It was written in blood. Jekiel shuddered. Yoren had been one of the leaders of the movement to increase tariffs on the railroads into and out of Elendel. A measure that residents of the Outer Basin were notoriously opposed to. It didn't take a genius to guess who had ordered his assassination. The only question now was... who next? The investigations started the next day. -- The other senators had been worried when Hammonda had begun to blabber nonsense. However, a brief investigation concluded that it was, in fact, a nervous breakdown brought on by a Rioter with no connection to the Outer Basin. Hammonda was assigned a Soother and allowed to return to work. TUN was the Loudest Voice! TUN was investigated and determined to be Insane! He has been treated and is recovering! Reminders: The cycle ends on June 8 2PM EDT (6PM GMT). All PMs must include myself and @Araris Valerian. It would seem that the counter counts the first vote out of two in a single paragraph, but the last vote in a post as a whole. Either way, I wouldn't recommend including two vote flags in a post.
