  1. "RUN, you fool!" exclaimed a panicked Anikel. "Or we're leaving you behind!" @Channelknight Fadran "I mean," began the stranger, pausing for dramatic effect, "viewing it from the surface of the moon itself."
  2. @CalanoCorvus Couldn't the Hwindi racial traits be simply another Life magic system?
  3. "Right there!" Anikel gestured to the slowly approaching figure.
  4. "I've got no clue!" exclaimed Anikel as he vaulted onto his horse. "And I don't plan to find out!"
  5. Anikel grabbed Terakor's arm. "Hold up, felo. What is-" "A monster!" panted Terakor again, pulling towards the horses. "We've got to get out of here." "Calm down," said Anikel. "I'm sure it's-" He paused, brow furrowing as he heard the sounds of twigs snapping getting closer. At that moment, Annamus came into view. Anikel released Terakor's arm. "Run!" he exclaimed, dashing over to his horse. @Channelknight Fadran "You're here for the Triluminescence, correct? Well... how would you like to see it up close?" @The Bookwyrm The stranger sighed and continued trekking forwards.
  6. "Don't worry, this won't take," the stranger panted, "more than a moment of your time." He straightened up, catching his breath. "How would you like to be a pioneer? Do things never before done? Go places never before gone?" The stranger blinked, his magic suddenly fading as he crashed to the ground. He winced. "Ouch." Carefully, he made his way back onto his feet, a resigned expression on his face. "Do you know where I can find other people? Perhaps ones that might be more interested?"
  7. "Like this!" The stranger hopped up... and up.... and up. It seemed that gravity had stopped working for him altogether.
  8. "What purpose?" The stranger seemed taken aback. "Adventure, of course! Why not go to the moon, if we can?"
  9. The stranger seemed to perk up slightly. "I, ah, represent the Order of the Fallen Star." As he spoke, he seemed to get more confident. "We're an order of mages with a simple goal; to reach the moons."
  10. @The Halcyon Girl can you explain Ocumertiation?
  11. At that moment, Terakor burst through a gap in the trees, nearly bouncing off a trunk in his hurry. "Run!" he screamed. "Monster!"
  12. Anikel grunted as he ran his rod along the ground. "Echo. It's a rare metal, but-" He was interrupted by a loud scream. Terakor's. The sound of someone huffing and puffing as they ran came up behind Lyras. "Excuse me!" called the pointy-hatted stranger. "May I have a moment of your time?" Terakor slowly looked up. Then he screamed and ran. "F-for the adventure of a lifetime!" The stranger took a careful step back, hands still in the air.
  13. @Thaidakar the Ghostblood Terakor ran the rod across the ground, totally focused on the task at hand. Or, well, at feet in this case. He did not notice the hulking figure behind the girth of the trees, even as he approached. @The Wandering Wizard @Channelknight Fadran A figure clad in robes and a peculiar cone-shaped hat stood nearby the docks. He was talking in an animated voice to a pair of travellers, who looked like they wished they were anywhere else right now. @The Bookwyrm
  14. "I'm... well, recruiting, you could say." "Hello?" a voice called through the trees. "Is anyone there?"
  15. Would it make sense to say that there are two ways to gain a magic system- by birth or by initiation?
  16. The man jumped back, raising his hands. "I must admit," he replied, "I am not familiar with the treaties of which you speak."
  17. A man wearing a funny-looking hat and loose attire strode through the forest below. He didn't seem to notice the figures above. @CalanoCorvus
  18. Terakor looked up. And up. And up. "Tall, aren't they?" remarked his compatriot, his armor jingling as he rode up besides Terakor. "Hard to believe they aren't magical." "What?" Terakor twisted in the saddle to face Anikel, trying to tell if his friend was joking. "Surely there has to be some magic involved. Trees don't get that tall." "These ones do." The silver-clad knight slipped off his horse and laid a hand on one of the massive trunks. "Takes them centuries to do it. Shame, really, that we're cuttin' em down." Terakor furrowed his brow, looking upwards once more. "What, all of them? Surely just one of these would be enough to supply Pietmed for a year!" Anikel laughed uproariously. "Not even close, felo. Not even close." Still chuckling, he began to pull long metal rods out of his saddlebag. "But we aren't chopping em for the wood. We're chopping em for what's underneath them." He laid one rod, made of iron, against the ground. After a moment, it began to vibrate slightly. "See? That means there's iron here. Not much, and" - he bent down until his ear was almost touching the rod - "not very close to the surface, either. But there will be other veins, including one of a... particularly valuable material." His fingers brushed over rods of gold and silver, coming to rest on a pair of reddish-tinted metal cylinders. He pulled them out, handing one to Terakor. "Here. Start searching." @The Wandering Wizard
  19. Kella shivered. The stars were bright tonight- not that it mattered much, since their light was as cold and empty as the sky that surrounded them. She drew deeper into her flimsy rag, trying desperately to conserve heat. I wish I could just fall asleep, she thought. Wake up where it's warm... Unbidden, the image of a crackling fireplace popped into her mind. She forced it away. Daydreaming wouldn't do her any good.
