  1. It's just the one child, from Sorwyl's late husband. Lavern is ideologically opposed to having children of her own and Sorwyl is not willing to kill Eevat for the gold spike to have more children. We'd have probably switched it to combined 24 hour cycles, but that still would have been incredibly boring and you were pretty confident of Dasenk, and would have been sure since the game was initially called, indicating your plan to leave them for last was a guaranteed win.
  2. I can be a pinch-hitter if you need a second one.
  3. Should've killed Wit instead since I was tensioned. But it wouldn't matter either way, since even if I got TJ exed today I would be unable to beat Kas + Stink. So good shot STINK back on C2. Having to rely on Mat to submit the kill because Aeoryi couldn't be around for rollover sunk us. If we'd shot Kas C3, if Aeoryi had been third ideal or if I'd been exed yesterday instead of her, we might have won. No doubt the village could have improved as well. Taliat had failed Shay, the proud Edgedancer whose fury could not be restrained to mere words. When her attempt to strike a blow for the Singers was stopped by a Skybreaker, executor of laws that stood as a monument to untold millions of corpses, Taliat had discarded her. Sacrificed her to ensure the death of the Windrunner Shay had wanted killed all along Perhaps this failure was why Saffron hadn't trusted her to defend him. When the knives came out, as always they did for every Knight Radiant who sought to defy their oaths and orders, Saffron had chosen to throw himself on the Knights' mercy rather count on Taliat to shield her. At least his death had been swift, and in the end perhaps both options would have lead to the same end. One lone surgebinder, individually powerful but no match for the collective might of the remaining Knights. "We can still escape!" Iolea urged. "Flee to Shadesmar, where none of these Knights can follow us." "We cannot," Taliat replied, searching her possessions for her spanreed to write one last message as the three remaining Knights plus their commander steadily approached her. "The battle to retake these lands will begin imminently, and you must be there to fight." "What?" "How?" Taliat finished her final update, inscribing only the notations for three rhythms, Lost, Despair, and finally Consolation. "Choose a nearby Singer for your next surgebinder, won't you? Give Slani the report I never learned how to write. Return here at the head of a liberating army, and make sure as few as possible Singers die for victory." ". . . I understand. Goodbye, Taliat." Iolea manifested as a knife, a small, one-handed weapon suited for assassination rather than battle. Together, the two looked out at the four Knights who surrounded them. "I once believed that everyone had the capacity for self-improvement, the ability to choose to be a better person than they once were and make up for the harm they've caused," Taliat began. "I see now that this is not true. All of you would have a place among the Singers, performing any task you were suited for while enjoying the rights and resources of full citizenship. Yet you would have neither the wealth nor power as the Coalition offers you. Leadership of a new noble house, a large city's worth of land, a thousand soldiers to enforce your will, a lifetime supply of Stormlit spheres, for these material benefits have you agreed to slaughter Singers until none remain on their rightful land save corpses and slaves. As you switch from passive beneficiary to active enforcer of millennia of violence, you hide behind your Oaths and pretend your actions are justified, even righteous. Your improvement can only be brought about by force." Taliat guided the Iolea-dagger towards her throat with her gloved hand, while her right hand summoned up all her remaining Stormlight and focused it inwards for the last Transformation she'd ever perform. Let an entire body's worth of blood foretell the fate of any Knight or soldier who stood against the Singers.
  4. Wit more evil than TJ. More closely linked to Mat. E!Lightweaver who has both redirects and roleblocks gives a reason for the village to have 1-2 tension users. Did explicitly claim to miss the end of C2 which could be where failing to save Mat from a roleblock went wrong, if the elims had to switch kills late and Mat wasn't the designated killer but was the only elim available to switch. Something had to have gone wrong here. TJ + Wit team doesn't not work from an interactions standpoint [main thing I'm seeing is TJ voting Archer over Ash C2 (less relevant since both are village) while bringing up e!Wit potential, while Wit says nothing about TJ except for considering village everyone but Mat, Archer Raven C2] but at a mechanical level it's low firepower with little effort made to do anything about it. Aeoryi could go with either of those, but her voting TJ over Wit makes Aeoryi + Wit more likely and feeds back into Wit more evil than TJ. Though TJ also discounted her as an option but should have known Archer was dead if he was teamed with Aeoryi. Probably should have been the one submitting the elim kill C2 though since she was village read at the time but had technology issues so maybe couldn't, might lead to Mat becoming the killer with not enough warning. Did post 1.5 hours before rollover when it was clear Archer or Ash would be exed. Didn't dust anyone other than Archer yesterday. @Kasimir or @STINK what did she know about Stink/SB and what he was doing for his C3 action? You told me about a doubleshot on Archer 3, 3.5 hours before rollover. So top team Wit + Aeoryi.
  5. C2 protect Mat, C3 vote cancel Mat, C4 I can do two of [roleblock, protect, vote cancel] on the same player and then do a transportation scan. I was 2EC last cycle but now am 4EC from 3 votes in row + EC ideal. That would be better. Yeah. Have to lay out all the possibilities since we have time but e DB more likely. Elims need something to counter the absurd number of roleblocks + redirects getting thrown at them. My powers aren't good at that, but Wit and TJ's are. Double abrasion isn't enough since e!DB finds it difficult to get 2nd ideal until start of C3.
  6. Roleblocked Mat when voted for Wit C1, kept even when clear Wit would survive thinking it more likely Mat would use action and would be more important to vote cancel later. E SB needs to roleblock an elim kill for power and then something needs to explain missing kill. Quite possible to leave it as a mystery though instead of bussing, don’t think we get a unanimous vote without a RB claim which means fightable exe that could hit a villager. I don’t get notified if my protect actually saves someone, for instance, which could lead to other theories for where the kill went. LW is more powerful than EC at 2nd and 3rd ideals especially, but if Wit is evil, what has he been doing with that power? Straightforward to illuminate Mat to random villager so he doesn't get roleblocked.
  7. E!Mat, v!Archer worlds were supposed to have either SB or DB be elim leaning DB, but the only division kill was Archer, which was supposed to happen, so possible they're both village. SB claim about Mat true so more likely village of the two. Which would leave the Bondsmith probably and then one more. Unlikely Kas, role too weak + agonized too much about Archer and Mat. SB fits ED + BS team makes more sense rolewise since it doesn't overlap abrasion and lets the elims solo BS ideal, but dependent on e!Bondsmith obviously and would require SB to be bussing Mat and then not taking the chance to division kill a villager. Don't know other player's role, would be helpful for team composition knowing what functions they can replace. Edit: Note that DB is harder to division kill than SB because of abrasion. Also that someone random got the vote ideal and it doesn't look like that was Archer or JNV.
  8. In the worst case it could be a tie with one village defection, which isn't a likely scenario but isn't worth taking the risk, especially since Mat and Archer can hammer whatever 2nd train they want against one village defection. 2 villagers voting off train is easily within hammer range.
  9. Mat (7): Stink, Aeoryi, Kas, JNV, TJ, Archer, Devotary Aeoryi (1): Mat None (1): Wit @ΨιτιsτηεΒέsτ Elims can get up to 4 votes probably, 5 if they have a Bondsmith.
  10. Mat. Can't easily check votes but can sacrifice control of 2nd place to guarantee Mat exe.
  11. @Kasimir For italics. 1. Extra shot is SB counting on DB to kill Archer. 2. Bus is only if they're not confident in going for a frame. SB needs to block a kill to get Division and bussing gets trust, but it's still a harsh and perhaps unnecessary play when Mat wasn't strongly suspected. E DB world is more straightforward in this cases but you seem to trust them. 3. TBH this was assuming e Archer since that's where I'd go if SB is exed and I'm still alive. True that this world is bleak but I don’t think it's automatic loss enough to demand SB claim much less exe them before Mat.
  12. If Archer's gotten 4th ideal by being protected somewhere and can protect Mat. Otherwise, one less vote isn't a significant obstacle. Whichever one we vote, we should make sure is a collective decision and have someone else get 2nd place for the ideal. Versus if e!Archer does have 4th ideal and survives again, then he has 2 lives tomorrow. More likely Mat than Archer. It's hard for me to see a scenario where TJ and Mat are on a team and TJ does nothing C1. That should have been enough of a threat that TJ would know when the cycle ended if he was in the doc at all.
  13. Well it's in the next section with those four teammates-by-votes. Wit is more tied to Mat, you and Stink and more tied to Archer, Aeoryi voted in Archer's favor but was also willing to kill both Archer and Mat C1. That leaves more people on singular Archer teams than singular Mat teams, but I'd also say Wit is more likely to be evil than you or Aeoryi. Stink is the more likely in a singular Archer team. Edit: Looked at JNV as a C2 Archer voter, turns out they also voted Archer C1, so they're a possibility on a e!Mat/v!Archer team.
  14. Current suspicions are in [Archer, Mat], especially together. I would vote for either. More likely, they're pretty tied together. There's more teams with e!Archer than e!Mat judging by the votes of who showed up to save just Archer vs. just Mat, but those are less likely individually. I'd rather go for Archer and Mat before checking Wit, you, Stink, Aeoryi. Archer being 3rd ideal while Mat is first ideal makes the former more dangerous certainly, but I'd be willing to exe one and ask the Dustbringer to kill the other.
  15. Thinking Archer is more likely to be village than Mat does not mean thinking Archer is village. E/e Archer/Mat is still plenty possible, especially with Mat voting Ash over Archer and now voting me over Archer. It was never going to be a tie; voting Archer before Archer and your votes meant Archer died instead of a tie, and then after those two votes Ash was dead regardless of what I did. Killing Ash doesn't really tell us anything. E!Ash just makes v!Archer and Mat more likely, in which case just as well to kill from the other direction, the actual v!Ash gives no data from C1. Does make e!Archer more likely.
  16. Devo (1): Archer Ash (3): Stink, Mat, Aeoryi Archer (4/3): TJ, JNV, Kas, Ash So if Archer uses his vote manipulation here, it's a tie. Don't want to leave it up to Archer. I'm oh and two votes. Well. I still think we learn more from Archer's death so let's force him to vote manip at least. From Ash, it's just how concerned the elims were yesterday. Slani hummed Satisfaction reading through Taliat's latest report. To Excitement: That she'd escaped the brunt of suspicion. To Supplication: Whether Phil Swift or Bailis could be safely executed. Taliat had added brief notes on the two, one a Windrunner seeking powerful adhesives who was extremely dedicated to his physical exercise regime, the other a Siah Aimian woman who talked to more than just her spren and often contemplated unmoving until the day was almost over. Slani didn't know offhand who the other essai within the Radiant camp were. Her Mavset-im direct superior desired a degree of separation, such that no connections could be drawn should any one essai be discovered. Naretlan had refused before to tell her who the other allied surgebinders were, but she relayed him another message in the form of the Rhythm of Craving just in case. Hearing no immediate response, Slani sent Taliat another Rhythm of Indifference before turning her attention to her primary task. She relayed the Rhythm of Subservience to Lady Leshwi, leader of the vanguard that sought to liberate Deleshar from human occupation once and for all. The Singer army would have to prevail no matter how many Knights Radiant human supporters managed to kill.
  17. They could be an Edgedancer who was using Abrasion, but E!Raven presumably would have been told by their teammates that messages were sent out to seemingly everyone. I guess they could an elim who's specifically pretending to be a village Edgedancer, but that's convoluted. Or the Stoneward wanted to mess with Raven specifically for some reason. Ash wasn't particularly involved in the votes last cycle except for being unconcerned with who died. If Ash is evil, I wouldn't expect top vote getters like Archer or Mat to be. Although apparently Ash can only be around for an hour or so before rollover, which limits options to vote elsewhere.
  18. We'll have to do something with Mat given how many connections there are to him. If it's not plausible to exe him then Archer and Raven are the best connections; Archer's more closely tied to Mat but Raven's more likely to be evil than Archer individually, especially if Mat is village. (This post was an excuse to fit in an RP section, but still true) “Iolea, where are my issued spheres?” “Oh! I lost those gambling!” “What? How will I use stormlight in public?” “Pssh, just say you’re rich! Anyway, I saw that you were in trouble, so I went ahead and talked to the spren of the Knights who accused you. Ellu really wanted to gamble. Pawns, kabers, michim, she’s quite good. I hope she’s cheating, excellent trait for a Radiant spren.” “I note Keleran still accuses me.” “Yeah, he’s stubborn. Ellu says he sees suffering as virtuous. The more something hurts him, the more he’s convinced that it’s the right thing to do. We’ll have to play up the ‘betraying and killing all his friends’ angle to make him defect.” “I’ll settle for surviving another day. Did you tell her anything about me?” “Uh-huh, I said you hate thinking for yourself and figuring things out, you just want to be guided to an objective Truth, especially by yours truly.” “Iolea.” “What? So we both exaggerated a little. It’s still mostly true. Anyway, Phil’s spren wouldn’t even give me a name. Just wanted me to buy some glue since you already got a free sample, but of course I’d already gambled all my spheres away.” “Right, of course. Let’s not gamble away the ones Slani gave me.” “Aw, but I’m so good at cheating. I beat Saffron’s spren in Pieces by looking underneath the tiles with my light. That inkspren totally didn’t even notice! You’re welcome.” “Is that why Saffron accused someone else?” “You can’t prove it wasn’t.” “I see. 1/3 is a good start. Now it’s my turn to accomplish something.”
  19. Only viable options for the primary exe that kills someone. For the secondary, I had lost track of vote count by then but at my last post it turns out to have been Aman (5): Aman, Raven, Wit, Archer, JNV Wit (4): Kas, Ash, Aeoryi, Devo Mat (1): Araris Kas switched two minutes before rollover to guarantee Aman's death. Even if I had known it was close enough that I could theoretically tie the second place vote, I don't think I would. Wasn't thrilled about Mat receiving an ideal.
  20. You would find it distasteful to kill Araris for personal reasons, yeah. Archer post-claim and Aeroyi are fair control kills. Killing Raven over Araris as a low info kill is mostly applicable to you, since Raven's less trusted and didn't get their 3 RP posts in. Like E!Mat getting suspected for the wrong reasons and being visibly upset about it is his big thing as an elim. It's just unfair to suspect him because he's upset about being suspected. The main actually suspicious thing about Mat is that a bunch of people voted for Aman when Mat was in the lead for votes. I also disagree that v-v ties in this game are better than normal, but Archer shared that opinion. In terms of likelihood eesh I'd put Archer/Mat team over Raven/Wit team but individually? Mat's involved with all these people but being evil just means that at least one of the other three also is and being village decreases e!Archer chances. Mat>Archer just because e!Archer could've killed Mat. Wit could be with anyone. Does E!Wit throw a vote on Aman just for fun if none of his teammates are in danger? Can't really evaluate this. Definitely can see Raven being evil but again this is dependent on at least one of the others being elim so percentages are fragmented, adds up to more likely than Archer/Mat. Again, when I voted, Aman or Wit were the only viable options, and I picked the latter because I disliked the surge of votes on Aman. After that, votes consolidated further to the point where voting elsewhere was unproductive. Two Knights Radiant dead, Orotha mused, surveying the first day's casualties. Two enemy soldiers who could have killed dozens if not hundreds of Singers if permitted to rise to higher Oaths, removed from existence before they could set foot on the battlefield. In the end, Aman hadn't even wanted to fight. Almost a pity that he decided to give up and let himself up to the cruelty of his superiors before he could be convinced to defect. Perhaps among the Singers, he would have found a cause worth fighting for. Aradon was a different case. Orotha hadn't known much about the dead Knight, but Kular had. The Honorspren's Knight was apparently part of Aradon's company of soldiers, and had been friends with Spark, accepting the other spren as an honorary Honorspren despite Aradon's status as a Lightweaver. Orotha had been talking to Kular about her experiences with the Singers and the prospect of fighting alongside them when Spark interrupted their conversation, urging Orotha to come quick and heal and dying Aradon. She had, of course, arrived too late. Spark and Kular both described Aradon as set in his ways, utterly convinced that Singers should be massacred and expelled from their homes. She would have made sure he died even if she'd arrived on time. His death was a step towards victory; if only she could have gotten in contact with whoever killed him.
  21. Archer (2): JNV, Aeoryi Mat (3): Raven, Araris, Aman Raven (1): Kas JNV (1): Mat Devo (1): Archer Nobody (): Devo, Wit, Ash, STINK, TJ Vote count was this when Archer claims confidence in v!Mat, suggests killing Aman. Then Aeoryi votes Mat and Aman switches to Raven before Archer and Mat switch to Aman. Hard to imagine Raven is evil without at least one Archer/Mat or maybe Wit, so they're secondary priority. Archer's leaning out of danger from his claim by the time actual votes go on Aman so self-preservation is less likely in his case than in Mat's. Aeoryi's vote bounces around from Mat to Aman to Raven suggesting she isn't invested in any of their survivals. E!Archer should just let Mat take the fall here unless they're teamed. If they are, voting Aman over Raven or me is presumably because Aman was attacking them. E!Mat|Raven|Wit with v!Archer vote Aman opportunistically, with Raven teams obviously avoiding Raven votes. It's don't kill new or returning players, don't kill people who've been C1'd recently, and avoid killing players who could be exed. I don't think there are players who go out of their way to violate these guidelines. Who would you have killed? My interactions tend to be more passive/reactive but they do happen. That doesn't have anything to do with alignment I just don't work in a vacuum.
  22. @Kasimir I voted Wit because I didn't like the train against Aman. Archer and Mat were up in the lead and all of a sudden they work together to kill Aman and a bunch of people come out of the woodworks to support that exe, drowning out Archer, Mat, and the temporary Raven push. I voted Wit as the main viable option to Aman at that point and didn't shift because I didn't think moving my vote would make a difference for first or second place (couldn't keep up with the vote count but thought Aman and Wit were clearly ahead). Given that Aman was village and got so much voted on I suspect an elim in the [Archer, Mat, Raven, Wit] set, and at the time also didn't see a strong reason it would be better to shift somewhere else in the hopes of getting someone else an ideal practically or desirably.
  23. Well Windrunners have a chance to get an ideal. I'd prefer that over a tie, but maybe trying would cause a tie.
  24. Archer (1): JNV Mat (2): Raven, Araris Raven (1): Kas JNV (1): Mat Devo (1): Archer Aman (4): Archer, Mat, Wit, Aeoryi Wit (3): Aman, Kas, Devo Nobody (): Ash, STINK, TJ Wit. This was a mess. Orotha hadn't thought winnowing the camp of Knights Radiant would require quite so much detective work. She'd written back to Slani, asking if she could be informed of which 'Knights' were fighting for the right side and were safe to approach, but the return message had been written to the Rhythm of Craving. Either Slani didn't know who the other Singer supporters were, or she felt that information wouldn't help Orotha in her own task. She wrote back to Slani one more time, with the names of Aman, Phil, Shay, and Death-daughter-Time, asking whether any should be spared, and had received a message written to the Rhythm of Indifference. The decision was up to her and Iolea. "I'd rather kill Phil than Death," Orotha confided. "A Windrunner is less likely to be on our side." "Too late for that!" Iolea replied. "Both have only a single accuser." "It's between Shay and Aman then? Shay and Phil were fighting, which makes me support the former." "Hmm, but the two were awful quick to join together against Aman. They could be working together." "And that means what? That they're both on our side? Or they just made a temporary alliance because they were the two highest suspects?" "You're the surgebinder! It's your choice!" "How delightful. What about Aman? Where did he come from? What does he want?" "I don't know, sorry. I interviewed every surgebinder as they came in but he wasn't there when we got here. I think he's Gen_ku's cousin." "Not afraid to die and not yet willing to condemn anyone so he might live. Is he an enemy of Shay or not?" "Phil, Shay, Aman, and Aeoryi should all fight for the Singers alongside us. We could all overpower the remainder of this group with ease." "I don't think it works like that." "Huff. Just pick something." "Oh look, here comes the Knight who compares killing people like us to exterminating food pests." "He's not saying anything so he's stuck on Shay. He just wants those ideals." "So do we I guess. More power will help. Right up until it doesn't."" "Knights Radiant kill Singers because it materially benefits them, not because their oaths compel them to atrocity." "Are you sure?" "Now you're just distracting yourself from making an accusation. Just pick something. You've been obvious about our loyalties, if any Knight out there was a Singer supporter and didn't want you to kill them, they would have told you about it." "Huggggh so many new votes. Agh. I guess Aman is dying? That doesn't seem right. Are we voting Wit? Is that what we're doing? Why this." "We still have 30 minutes left to make another vote, just go for something. You can change it later."
