So I just read The Emperors Soul recently and I was intrigued by forgery and its implications with other magic systems. I have a bunch of questions that I'm curious if any of you know and what you all think about them. 1:Could you forge yourself into an Elantrian. I saw a WOB that said that it would be very hard, and that you'd have to change your birthplace. But the shaod can claim even people that are just visiting, so as long as you had visited once couldn't you just forge your past so that the shaod chose you? 2: Could you forge an Aviar in order to change its talent? This would be dependent on whether the talents come from some genetic aspect or they are competently random. 3:Could you forge broken shard-plate so that it never broke? I know that invested things don't like getting manipulated by other investiture, so it would take a ridiculous amount of power. But is it possible? 4: Assuming you lived on Scadrial, could you forge yourself into a steel inquisitor? I know that Allomancy and Feruchemy are hereditary, but Hemalurgy is not. so is it possible? 5: Could you forge a dead body to become Returned?

Hi all, so I've been looking through the Role-Playing board and couldn't find a topic where we can role-play just for fun, with no real goal or reason. I think it could be fun to have somewhere where we can role-play to our hearts content and just see where it ends up. Anyone can join, the only rule is that all in world text, weather describing your actions or spoken words, must be in colored text. Also, try not to give your character god like powers. I can't wait to see where this goes! I'll start it off... My character is named Eighth of Midnight, born on the world First of the Sun. He is a world hopper with a single brown and red Aviar named Sift. Sift gives Midnight the ability to know a brief history of any object he touches. As night fell a lone figure shoved the doors open to a large building. Inside lay a large banquet hall, quiet and empty except for the dusty broken tables strewn all over. "What do you think Sift?" Midnight looked around the room, "it looks abandoned." The bird on Midnight's shoulder chirped as if excited, he always got excited by old things. "They said they'd be here." Midnight did not like waiting.

I don't know, personally i'm all for being invested. Who cares if the cookies may or may not be spiked. I was warned about them when I first joined too, but i guess it didn't work. All I know is that they are delicious.

I find it interesting that you mention this as I was looking at the Arcanum earlier and I found this, Questioner I was wondering if a bond to a spren, a Nahel bond, may be taken with a Hemalurgic spike. Brandon Sanderson This is possible but it's gonna-- Since the spren has free will it's going to be-- Yeah it's going to have weird ramifications but it is a possible thing. In regards to your question, this is the closest WoB that i could find, Questioner Are Hemalurgic spikes fabrials? Is a body that has been spiked a fabrial? Are koloss and kandra also something similar? Brandon Sanderson No, actually. Fabrial means specifically a bit of Investiture that has been trapped by a gemstone and then modified to do something else. Hemalurgy is its own thing--though there is a slight similarity. In most Hemalurgy, Investiture keyed to the Identity of someone (a bit of a soul) is ripped off, and then magically grafted onto someone else's soul. Not the same, though I can see the confusion. Koloss and kandra are similar, though in this case, the soul is mostly just being distorted by using an Invested spike. In the cosmere, the body will attempt to match the soul, and so a twisted soul (Spiritual aspect of a person) can have profound effects on both mind and body. So based off this I would say that I don't think it's stealing as much as using. It's the difference between stealing the life force of something as opposed to making them do your will.
