  1. That's literally the WoB I linked to four posts earlier lol.
  2. If you say my argument is nonsensical, you say that I say nonsensical things, and therefore that I'm nonsensical. So yes, it was to me personally as well. That's the thing. If someone makes an argument that argument is by definition part of that person. In fact, that is the very reason it is rude/inflammatory to say "That's nonsensical" instead of something like "I disagree because ..." or "... is evidence to the contrary". And yes, I'll drop it now, just wanted to get that misconception about argument vs person out of the way.
  3. I just pointed out he was straight up contradicting himself?
  4. @luminos I assume that downvote was accidental? Edit: nevermind
  5. Huh, I must be illiterate.
  6. I have nothing against someone telling me their opinion, but I very much dislike when people start their post with "That's nonsensical" and "Are you saying" when there are plenty of ways to have a reasonable discussion. If you're unwilling to consider me an equal, however, I'm not going to bother writing arguments out. Go bother someone else until you're ready to act like an adult.
  7. First of all, stop making such agressive comments. Second, we're not talking about written laws, we're talking about agreements. Third, the Skybreakers aren't advocates. They're some hybrid between judges and police force. Lawkeepers.
  8. It falls partly under case B, but it was not unlawful for them to execute the administrator, as he had broken a law once the convicts had escaped: He was supposed to make sure they remained there, by law, and as soon as they did not, he had broken that law. Law: You are supposed to make sure the prisoners stay in the prison. Using the 'salary', partly meant to be used to maintain the prison, for own ends: Not unlawful. Lettting the prisoners escape: Unlawful.
  9. Wouldn't he have used something like "defeated" then? We have a WoB telling us it's happened before.
  10. Let's expand on that: One Bondsmith from human heritage (Dalinar), one Bondsmith from mixed heritage (Rock), one Bondsmith from singer heritage (???).
  11. Can someone enlighten me where my current reputation level (Arbiter) comes from?
  12. Are you referring Brandon Sanderson by this?
  13. I don't see why she'd require that, as she knows Kaladin is in no way comparable to Sadeas. He's no dangerous backstabber but is rather looking to save the world.
  14. That is just utterly ridiculous. We're discussing the option of him becoming a Radiant here, not wheter or not we like it. Only at the start of the thread there was a bit of talk about that, after that everything has been about the likelyhood instead.
  15. Yup. I've been watching my language regarding that the last few days, I bet I'd automatically do it right now.
  16. Mentioning Kaladin made me think... what if Kaladin gets to replace Sadeas? He is, after all, from the area, he is sort of the leader of the Knights Radiant (under Dalinar), and it would have some nice irony to it.
  17. THIS, so much THIS! I wanted to write out what I thought about it, but that would basically be copying your post. It really felt similar to A Memory of Light, and indeed, we're not even halfway through yet. I mean, we got a big chapter (only 45 pages though, down from aMoL's 200), we got a main character almost giving in but then defying and (for now) defeating the big bad AND that main character created a column of light after doing so. Also Shallan's battle with Re-Shepir in Urithiru reminded me of Rand's battle with the Dark One, being fought outside the 'real' world.
  18. Gave it a solid 10/10, definitely the best book I've ever read.
  19. I don't know... Do the Surges require you to hold the blade? There's no bonding process involved, as the Bridge Four members could just swap it around.
  20. He might be glad Sadeas is gone, but he is not glad he killed him. It solves a lot of problems, and that's what he's glad about, but he clearly feels guilty about it.
  21. Shame. I loved the Aon Ati theory. (also yay, 400th post (in five weeks...))
  22. We're shipping spren now, as well?
  23. I didn't really have a worked-out theory though. Just a random idea that I might sometime write something about. Figured the red might be related to Adonalsium's enemy, which would then be another powerful being. No idea if there's a WoB like that.
  24. Eh, I'm not convinced. I still think it's too convoluted when 9 is already Odium's number.
  25. In my opinion, the bolded part is very important. Would "pieces of the Heralds" not by definition make it a one-to-one correlation?
